Full Version: Research on Totem Poles from BC

Ken Y.
I have been doing some reading on the totem poles in the libary. The most notable are the Nimpkish people. They are a sub-group of the Kwakiutl.

Does anyone live in the area of vancover island near Alert Bay??

They believe that they are descendants of a sasquatch. That is the reason they place the Sasquatch figures on the base of their poles.

I am currently looking for more information on the location of ALL totem Poles that have sasquatch related carvings.

Please post any photographs and the location of the poles OR the books that you have found that contain these types of poles.

I am planning a trip to photograph and record the locations of these poles.

Thanks,
