What do you think it is Bitter Monk?

To be honest its damn near impossible to say from the quality of the photo. If I could enlarge it more and see more detail, it might be easier. As it is, it looks to be two tracks to me, one overlapping the other, with some type of loose debri in the center. There is a long claw mark looking indentation to the right of the "big toe", and what appears to be a smaller one to the right of it. If it is indeed a claw, that would narrow the list of suspects considerably, but it would still be difficult to say.

As is, I don't think you should be discouraged. Even if it turns out not to be a bf track, at least you've put the evidence out there, and are willing do to the work to follow up on it.

That is an interesting observation, I cant explain the claw mark because I see what you mean but it seems like these toes had more weight then the far right toes hence the 2 furthest toes not being very visible, perhaps this middle toe was pressed into the soil more so then the big toe and 3rd toe. Again just theories, the debris in the arch area seems to be because it was not pressed into the moist soil like you can see with the heal and toe areas or it has dried out within the time it was made and discovered. I can say it is possible that 2 tracks can be overlapped but what creature has 5 toes, 5/6" wide in the front section of their foot like damn has pointed out? Im the tallest guy that has been on this property for some time and none of my foot measurements even come close, not to mention I dont walk barefooted in my garden. Bear track overlap. I've seen the EXACT same pattern in Hillsdale county,in Mi .during the early 90's. It too was mistaken for BF prints because of recent sightings in the area. (Which also could have been attributed to the bear,being that far south of its normal range.)

I have but one question VeinsAfire. Why is it you seem to be pushing so hard for these to be Bf tracks? At best, as it is now, you at least followed up and posted the pics as you said you would. At worst, you could continue to do so and come off like Lady MacBeth in very short order. IMO

I did in fact leave something out of the report that I just clerified with my neighbor 10 minutes ago. I didnt think this was related to this until I contacted the neighbor who replied that neither he or his daughter had any reason to act this way at 3am. There was 3 loud knocks on the window above our bed that woke me from a dead sleep. I woke up and layed there in question. I found a large stick on the deck by the hot tub yesterday and I had to contact the neighbor to clerify. I now know something is going on. The stick was removed from a terrace maybe 10 feet from the window. I will keep everyone posted.

Ok, my turn

Notice the small plant spouting up in the so-called "arch". You say you found this the following evening but that track would be much older then 24 hours in my opinion.

Notice the lack of the small fine sprouts in the print when it's all over the ground on the right side? If something just stepped there, you would see those sprouts in the ball, and arch of the print. They might be smashed but not disappear. You said there was only one print, like they took a step in but then backed up. That would leave very little toe dig.

Notice the leaf in the “toe”. It is uncrushed but yet it seems to have small rocks on top of the edges (I might be wrong on this).

It looks more like a small animal was digging around. Someone said rabbit before. They might not be far off??

Just my opinion.

Edit: I guess I'm just saying I don't buy this as a print. That doesn't mean I'm saying all the other things that happened are not true.... just saying that this doesn't have anything to do with it.

Those little plants can be stepped on and not go anywhere and it has been breezy, leaves can travel with a breeze no? Either way, I plan on doing my research without informing the community except for some researchers in contact with my unkle. Good luck all.

It could be all of the above, it could have been days old, I weeded that area 3 days ahead at most. Bear is understandable, I heard the same theory from another person. That makes 2. I dont know, I am going to leave it alone as unknown unless more are found. Bear means I need a shotgun.

I don't know if it matters or not, but I say "bear" also.
