An interesting story was told to me today that happened at the site of our 2004 BBQ,
many of the TBRC members, some BFF and BFRO members attended as well.

The story related to me was from my longtime research partner and best friend we call Mr. BB that was told to him by a local LEO working for the Sheriffs dept here.

He has known of our interest in Bigfoot for years as he has stopped us on many occasions (so many he waves us on now) late at night out in the middle of nowhere.
So we tell him what we are there for and nothing more he grins and allows us to leave. Lights, cameras, recorders, AR-15 and all.
The story follows something like this.

As a Park attendant was making his rounds one night in Jan. 2005 he noticed
a "something" running across an open field to the camp area.
With the weather, there had been no campers in the Boggy Depot area that week.

Those familiar will rationalize this is not a readily accessible park in an area where people would be seen in the middle of the night running across the open field portion at the entrance.

As the attendant circled the park and drove to the area of campsites a trashcan was hurled infront of his vehicle and it clearly shook this person enough to call law enforcement to the scene after he saw a subject flee the area.

4 county deputies and an Oklahoma Hiway patrol officer responded to the call and began searching the park for what they thought perhaps was a drug crazy youth.

The Patrol Officer spotted a running man , toward the bridge at the entrance to the park and persued it into the wooded area that leads to the creek below the bridge on foot.
With revolver drawn he shined his light on the suspect only to stand mesmerized by the sight of a tall hairy being staring back at him and his light.

The creature bolted and disappeared into the brush while the office stood motionless trying to decipher what it was he just witnessed. No further pursuit was given.

The Deputy telling Mr.BB the story stated "he was very upset by the sighting but proclaimed it had to have been a human in a suit" afterwards he would not discuss it further.

The Attendant and the Highway Patrol Officer saw the same thing but will not relate it to be a Sasquatch Creature sighting on the basis they would be ridiculed by others within their local departments.
Our Deputy laughed and said to Mr. BB " Well I guess you guys were right all along".

Boggy Depot , Clear (and Muddy Boggy) River have had several reported sightings through the years here in Oklahoma and is a very natural and beautiful place in the rural settings of Atoka County.
It contains alot of civil war history for this area of the state and is an interesting area of research and study for Bigfoot.

Those that attended the 2004 BBQ will recall a bridge before entry into the park.
Below this area leading to the creek is where the confrontation occurred.

Peglegs (Jim) and I in 2004 found some interesting tracks there(along the sand under the bridge) when looking the park over to hold the function known as the annual MonkeyChasers BBQ that year.
(2003 was in Broken Bow, Ok and 2002 was on Lake Texoma. If I remember correctly.)
But during the camp out nothing unusual occurred that I recall.
Except for the excellent dining and fine conversations, the area was wonderfully peaceful.

The area is densely wooded with few inhabitants in the proximity. (miles)
I don't think any of this story can be verified as the witnesses were all LEO.
And we know how tight lipped they can become if fear of ridicule but again
I believe the officer who told Mr. BB the story this week.

The weather was cold after a recent snowstorm in January. (approx. 2-4 inches)
I assume the BF was "dumpster or trashcan dining" when disturbed by the curious attendant.
This is not the first report from this area.

Just thought I'd share an interesting story.
Hope to research the area again in the future wink.gif

Too bad the Oklahoma Highway Patrol doesn't carry revolvers anymore. They haven't for years.

My bad DigitalD
if you are implying more than a simple transcription error or choice of words,
then by all means go for it. Let's hear what you got. biggrin.gif

As I stated this was a story told to me by a friend by a LEO in our county.
I only wrote the story because I had mentioned it to a few in "BFF Chat" the night I posted.
If I had written "nine mil or auto" would it really have been that big of difference in the overall story?

someone should put a map of that area in oklahoma in this thread. so that way we can pinpoint all the sightings in oklahoma and areas around in a safe way without harming the creatures there. bill green
