Im from Illinois and I have had several bigfoot encounters. My very first sighting occured while I was cat fishing with 3 good friends on the Sangamon River. We had been fishing for several hours and hadnt had much luck so we decided to move further down the river where there were several deep holes. As we approached the location we noticed an object moving along a 25 foot cliff. At first we thought it was a dear but as we neared the being we quickly realized it was standing on two legs. We tried to sneak up on the animal by making a giant circle. As we approached we saw the animal sitting in what looked like an indian style position. At this point we were 40 yards behind the animal and noticed that it was very large and dark colored. My friend Tom thought that it was a bear(, but seeing it walk on two feet would later eliminated this idea). We observed the beast for several minutes until my friend Chris sneezed. At that point the animal stood up and turned in our direction. It took 4 or 5 steps in our direction, noticed us, then turned and jumped into the river! We froze for a couple seconds then ran to the edge of the cliff and looked down hoping to see the bigfoot (at this point we all realized it was a bigfoot we had seen). There was no sign of the bigfoot but we could see very wide ripples where it had entered the river. It never surfaced and this is the main reason I believe bigfeet spent a lot of time under water. hi everyone i also noticed there is alot reports of sasquatch in the swamplands, creeks, and lakes etc in illinois. i hope the bfro keeps us all here informed of these sightings. bill green
