You guys should take pics from both your maps. I was going to buy a big Giant Map O' Texas and put it over my sofa and paint little marks where the sightings had occured myself.

Anyone know where I can get a big Texas Map for the wall?

I know this area well as I grew up in Liberty County, TX. And lived in Liberty, TX for almost 10 years. I spent many days in the woods on the West side of the Trinity near Kenefic, TX (Just east of Dyton, TX.)

And I've heard many stories from people in these woods about 'strange' creatures that lived in the bottoms there. This area is a flood plain for the Trinity River and often is flooded to a height that covers fence post in the area; is very easy to hide and get lost in if you are not very familure with the area.

Belle,
I was excited to see the Burleson County Encounter, as Burleson County is right next
to me here in Lee County. I checked the map on that encounter - and in the report he said off of FM 358 east of Caldwell, and it should be FM 3058 instead, as there is no 358. Anyway, this sighting is not too far from the Brazos River and Lake Somerville - an area I've been watching with interest for a long time.

Lets hope you get lucky. I'm just a few hours away from there. Lets us know what you may find.

The Lake Somerville area would seem to have all the right habitat to sustain one or
several of these creatures. There was one sighting in that area in the '70s, across the lake in Burleson County. The lake is fed by several large creeks and thousands of acres of government land, some gets heavy traffic while other areas hardly ever see a person. I like to fish up the creeks and always keep my eyes open - but nothing has been discovered yet. I did find a dead deer close to the bank on my last trip two weeks ago. It had been dead for some time - but was strange. It's hide had been peeled off the main body and was still on but over the head for some reason. All of the internal organs were there, but dried out. If someone shot it, and I don't think they did, they didn't gut it or take the meat. I've found dead deer before, but never one that looked like this. There's probably a logical explanation though..............

The girlfriend and I recently watched an A&E/History Channel/Crime TV show on a child abduction and murder in Tyler, TX. Upon being asked by the girlfriend what I thought about the show the only thing I could come up with was "There's a lot of bigfoot reports from there (show was boring to the point of pain)." wink.gif
