I've never seen one, have any of you?
usafmedic45
I remember reading one about a girl who witnessed a female BF enter a cabin to raid a fridge (it was on the BFRO reports page)

I also seem to recall an episode of Unsolved Mysteries (at least I think it was that show) where they discussed a cabin that had been broken into and a large amount of unknown hairs had been found along with other trace evidence (including tracks if I am not mistaken). However it has been many years (I'd guess 6 or so) since I recall seeing that episode.
usafmedic45
Is there an particular reason why you ask? Or is it just plain curiosity that brought this question up?
MountainLady
There is a report of a Sasquatch entering a cabin while some girls were sleeping..
Can't recall exactly where I read it.

Raincoast Sasquatch by Rob Alley has some accounts of that as I recall.
That may be where I heard the one I mentioned above.
usafmedic45
The one you are talking about ML is also on BFRO.....I remember it....I think they reported that the BF was checking out a girl wearing orthodontic headgear if I am thinking of the same case

I read a report once, where a girl went out to the barn to feed the animals, and reached into a dark barn to hit the light switch and instead felt the "fur" of a strange animal! I think it happened in Michigan, but I could be wrong. I'll try to find a link to the story, pretty good.

yep I read that one too. It usually crosses my mind when I am going out to my barn late at night 300 yards from my house to work on something when I have trouble sleeping. Man that barn looks intimidating in the dark because of that post lolol

I have read a couple of them over the years (Including the ones talked about above) But it is a rear thing to happen.
However they do seem to like to look into windows when ever they can. They also seem to reach into windows and suck way more often then going into the buildings.
It seems that rooms with kids in them are look into more often then rooms with adults. They also like to watch kids at play and such so maybe it is something about the kids that they like, Other animals show this same sort of behavior at times also.

Anyway I also am interested in why you asked. You know of something unexplained that could relate to this ?

In the Cowman of Copalis beach posted earlly last year the sasquatch apparently enters and destroys the house. This is one of the few reports/stories that I can recall in which a sasquatch enters a building.

Look at Latimer county Oklahoma and Washington county Missouri on BFRO.

Don't forget "The Legend of Boggy Creek," the Bigfoot walked right up on the porch and stood at the front door - he of course wasn't invited in but that's another story. OBTW...I saw that in 1979 - I was 10 years old and it scared the living sh*t!!, out of me. icon_stressed.gif I wouldn't go upstairs by myself to bed for a whole year. Gave the parents fits. My thoughts after seeing that creature at the door when the man opened it were...."my God, Bigfoot makes house calls!!!" One last note, that fear is what turned into obsession......once I realized Bigfoot would never arrive unannounced! wink.gif

There is also one famous case of an Almasty and what would appear to be its young entering a Russian army barracks. It was reported on the Russian news service, but I would take it with a huge pinch of low sodium salt.

Ruby Creek, between Hope and Agassiz, British Columbia, Canada. Upper Fraser River Valley, approx. 35 miles north of Wash. State border and 70 miles east of Vancouver BC. 1941 - if memory serves me correctly. Old cabin still on north side of Hwy. #7
Sasquatch reportedly entered the residence and an outbuilding of Native Indians named Chapman. Mrs. Chapman there with her children and watched Sasquatch as it made its way near the house. She fled with her children to Ruby Creek as Sasquatch approached. Salted salmon and salmon in brine barrels may have been the reason for the entrance into the buildings.
I heard this story from surviving relatives of the Chapmans many times while growing up in the area. Also have come across it numerous times during research.

i interviewed a lady from St. Maries,ID some years back who, as a child, walked into a shed that had a white sasquatch in it...sleeping on the floor......

Might have posted this story here....can´t recall...........

There was at least one here in Illinois (central part of the state) where a 5-5.5 foot tall "ape" was seen in the doorway of a barn, and another where one (6-6.5 feet tall) was seen entering the barn. Each one was in isolation, and also in corn field country...not exactly a great place to hide a bulky primate, but then again...

This one is a second hand account. Its not so much as walking in one someone but its interesting non the less.
I was at a party a few months back and the subject of bigfoot came up. I didn't bring it but, a friend of mine did.
He just moved here from the State of Washington.. Him and a few of his friends would go camping come the fall and spring time of the year. One friend would stay gone for weeks on end camping. Riding his bike on trails sometimes. Well, he said his friend came apon an old cabin on one of the trails that wasn't being used much anymore. He wouldn't of thought much about it but what bothered him about it was the aweful smell coming from that area. Being curious, he looked in the cabin. What he saw was that the floor boards were riped up. He said it looked like something went inside a just torn it apart. There in the middle was a hole, it looked like if something or someone was using it for shelter of some sort, weeds and some saplings were seen matted in the area. Gene had ask if it was used by a person, the guy said he didn't see any signs of human presence.
Gene also stated that his friend left the area in a hurry, said he thought he was being watched. From what I could gather, is that his friend no longer rides that trail.

There's a report from Michigan I think where kids enter an old abandon house in the woods and see evidence of bigfoot. I personally don't have much faith in the report, but it is a good story.

What are we to make of all the "could be" reports, from Alaska, for example, of people bringing supplies and such to isolated cabin owners only to find the cabin abandoned with evidence of SOMETHING having gotten in and no signs of conventional predators like bear being involved?
bf43
PGH, thanx for "BF occupies a vacation cabin". http://www.internationalbigfootsociety.com...ort.php?id=1463. its a good read.....canned goods were popped by squeezing in the middle. i imagine someone could calculate the grip strength reqiured to do that.
Bigfoot Believer
BF43, thank you for referencing the International Bigfoot Society. It's an information source I've seen before, but had forgotten about. In reading one of the numerous articles on the site, entitled "Regan Dickenson On Confronting Bigfoot," the author comments:

"I just remembered a case of a hunter finding a dead Grizzly with its jaw ripped out, and in the report he found this quite strange....And his question was, what could rip the lower jaw out of a Grizzly? It would be very hard for another Grizzly bear to rip a jaw out with its own jaws and teeth, but would be a useful technique for a Sasquatch to render a Grizzly as non-lethal."

( Article is at http://www.internationalbigfootsociety.com...ticle.php?id=78 )

I realize the cabin incident of your post (in which you comment that canned goods were squeezed open) and the above bear incident are not related, but it's both amazing yet humbling to speculate upon the sheer brute strength of a Bigfoot.

As for me, until I own a rocket pack to shoot myself skyward in an emergency (charging Bigfoot, or bear for that matter), I won't be making any escursions into the deep woods. :willies:

Large male grizzlies kill female and young grizzlies with depressing regularity when populations start to increase resulting in a corresponding competition for resources.
During a fight - the bears will be biting and ripping at each other using their teeth and incredible biting power as a weapon.
I have observed grizzlies fighting on two occasions. I can easily imagine a scenario that results in the ripping off of a lower jaw.
A 1000 lb grizzly can sure as heck tear out the jaw of another grizzly.

Attributing this to bigfoot is wild speculation IMHO.

One of my favorites:

DATE: 1984

TIME: Between 12:00 and 2:00 P.M.

LOCATION: Mackinac County, Upper Peninsula Michigan.

TERRAIN: National Forest, Every possible terrain type is in the area

OBSERVED: We did not see the creature, but if your back was turned to a charging bull you wouldn't need me to tell you that he was coming for you. That is what your instincts are for. There are four eye witnesses to this true incident that occurred in the Hiawatha National Forest in the summer of 1984. I don’t know why I or the others haven't come forward sooner. It has been sixteen years now. I was just 18 yrs old when this all took place. I had come home on leave from the Military, U.S. Army. My family wanted to take a vacation to our property near Trout Lake. Michigan's Upper Peninsula. "The North Country". What we call "God’s Country", it’s just beautiful countryside. If you have ever been there then you know what I'm talking about. The property is about 40 miles northwest of the Mackinaw Bridge which connects the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. The property is right off of Highway 40, sixteen miles from the nearest town of Trout Lake.

That first night up north we sat around the fire and talked about what we were going to do the following day. We decided to go exploring at the Fibron Rock Quarry which is about five miles due west of our property off of highway 40 on "Fibron Quarry Road". The rock quarry is a very large area of about one mile in diameter and 40 to 60 feet in depth. The rock was mined out of the ground in the earlier part of the century. Some of the local people told me that prisoners from a local prison camp used to do the mining.

The next day:
On our four wheeler quad runners. The four people that went out that day were myself, my younger brother Daniel and my two best friends, Brian and Patrick.
We loaded our gear for the day, some food and drink, buck knifes, and we all took along a 22 long rifle for target practice at the Rock Quarry. After several hours at the rock quarry we decided to go to the back side of the rock quarry and explore the forest. We had never been in this area before. We found a set of rail road tracks and we followed them down for between 5 and 10 miles. After getting really bored of riding on those rail road tracks we stopped and we were thinking about turning around. When I looked to my left, which is the south side of the tracks, I saw the roof of a house off in the distance. We decided to go check it out and see if there was a fire trail or two track near the house to take us back home. We rode a short distance before coming out in a small clearing of about 3 acres.

The house sat in the middle of the clearing, there were no trees near the house. We rode around the perimeter of the field, there was no road or two track to be found. This house was abandoned and in the middle of nowhere, it must have been over 100 years old no one had lived there for a very long time by the look of the house. The house was boarded up very tightly. You could tell that there had been a porch on this house at one time but it was gone now. The foundation was very high; my hands could only reach the bottom of the first floor window sills. We walked around that house twice to try to get in but the boards were nailed down good and we didn't have anything to pry with. On the second level there was an exterior door that was missing and it was not boarded. You could tell that there had been a set of stairs there at one time but they were nowhere in sight.

The problem was that we could not reach the bottom of that doorway even standing on each other’s shoulders. My brother and Patrick are both 6'1". We drove a four wheeler up next to the house and then were able to climb over the backs of the other guys and then we helped them up. We also handed up the rifles, we did not want to leave them outside and this house was very spooky looking. We looked across the second level, it looked empty, but it was very dark up there and we could not see to the other side of this large house. It was a very nice summer day and the sun was high in the sky. Directly to our left there was a staircase going down to the lower level you could see pretty well down there. There was some sun light coming through the cracks in the windows.

We decided to go down and check the lower level first, half way down the stairs we noticed that it smelled really bad, skunky, definitely an animal smell like the inside of a zoo enclosure or barn, it was bearable, we looked around before going to the bottom of those stairs. There were large clumps of animal fur lying all over the floor, in the cracks in the walls, and even some hanging from the ceiling. We thought it was pretty bizarre but we were armed and there were 4 of us. At this point we did not know what we were up against. We wanted to see what was in this house so we continued on. There was another door through the room that we were standing in; it turned out to lead to the kitchen. We entered the kitchen door and were stunned at what we saw. There was a large dead Labrador dog lying on his belly on the kitchen table, his guts were lying next to him, and his legs had been ripped off (Not Cut off) and they were lying on the floor next to the table. His rear hip on the right side had been eaten to the bone and you could see the large bite marks in the meat. It was a very fresh kill maybe one to three days at the most. The meat was not rotten; there were no flies or maggots. We all said lets get the F___ out of here at the same time, and at that moment we heard a loud slam on the second level. We aimed our rifle to the ceiling and said three times very loudly “Identify yourself or we will shoot!”

We thought it was some crazy nut case at first and we weren't taking any chances, this guy was dangerous! We looked through the room over at the staircase, the sun was shining through that exterior door on the second level, there was a shadow running down the staircase. We could hear it breathing heavily (NO human could breathe that loud). It blew air out of its nostrils and let out one hell of a cry.

My legs were shaking and every hair on my body stood up on end. We didn't look at or say anything to each other, we started shooting out of pure instinct for survival, we had 18 shots in each rifle and we didn't stop shooting until we were empty 72 rounds later. We quickly reloaded and moved toward those stairs, the only way in or out. The creature was nowhere in sight, we got out of there and haven't been back there since.

We are convinced of what we all saw and felt and no man is going to tell us any different, believe what you want. Bigfoot lives.

Activities of Witness: We were all riding 4 wheelers, quad runners exploring Michigan's Upper Peninsula and having a good time during the summer of 1984.

Description of Creature: Only saw the shadow of the creature

Other Notes: I hope to return to that spot again before the end of this year. The four of us are going back, we need to know what else is in that house. This mystery is not over. There could be important clues in that house.

Other Notes: There are natural underground caves everywhere in that area of the country.

Read the "Also Observed" section...

Extracted from the report:

"ALSO NOTICED: The other unusual thing that we noticed up there was in the basement/boiler room of the old boarding house that was near our log landing/camp. It looked like a huge nest in the corner near the old boiler. It was made of evergreen boughs and leaves. It looked like it was being slept in by a very large animal. The floor was soft dirt, and it had a very strong odor all over in that part of the building. It was open to the outside by an open doorway."

(snip)

"An onsite inspection of the area by this investigator in July of 2004 turned up many story substantiation details. Remnants of a possible nest area were found in the crawl space of the abandoned mine office building. A flat open box filled with dried leaves was found adjacent to the nest area. In the second abandoned building further up the hill a second possible sleeping area was noted in the basement. This room definitely had a strong, musky, skunk-like smell lingering in the air. A nest story detraction was that there was also positive evidence of pack rat activity in both buildings."

Right. Big, stinky pack rats with a penchant for leaves and pine boughs. dry.gif

I hadn't heard of BF living in abandoned buildings, but I know of a report in which a family lived in a house trailer in the country. The areais very wooded. One night the husband saw a shadow pass by a window. The wife felt the trailer shake as something passed by without making a sound. There were vocalizations in the vicinity around the time.
