Following in the footsteps of David Thomas King and probably many others. And prompted by Stacy's suggestion. Wanted to put the feelers' out for anyone in the Alabama aera wanting to start and culminate an Alabama Bigfoot Association [ABA]. Members wanted as well as ideas. Although Alabama isn't a 'hot spot' for Bigfoot activity - we can begin a work towards investigation and discussion of Bigfoot in Alabama. Ideas and suggestions are appreciated from members of this forum for directive. Thanks to all who help.

Another cool thing: I don't know how far south in the state you are, but there are several folks here from the Fla panhandle who you could possibly hook up with too. This is too cool, I hope you get some response!!

Thanks Stacy - Medic...I am in Coosada, bout' ten minutes out of Montgomery, Alabama. Close too - Prattville, Al....Wetumpka, Al......Clanton, Al.......Millbrook, Al. Hour away from Birmingham, Al. Dothan, Al is about 1and3/4 hours away. I'm willing to make a central location for meetings and the like. All that is needed is the desire to research, discuss and look for the proof we all so desperatly desire. Also, you don't have to be in Alabama - per say - to participate. Bordering Alabama is fine. If you want to be a part all are welcome.

Im in the Walker/Winston County area as well. I grew up a stones throw from Jasper in Saragossa and now live near Addison/Cullman
Even if you could prove that there are no bigfoot in Alabama it is still a great idea and a way for folks from the same general area to meet and discuss things happening on a whole in the bf community.

Another Alabama native here. I'm from northwest Alabama near Muscle Shoals, but unfortunately, about two years ago my job took me to northern Missouri. But I get back down to "God's country" semi-often.
And there is lots of bigfoot activity in north Alabama. And quite a bit not far from your area Bigdave, in Walker, Winston, Lawrence, Franklin, Colbert, and Lauderdale counties.
And big c, I've investigated sightings in Pike and Bullock counties also.
Bigdave, since you grew up in Saragossa, I would be very surprised if you had not had a BF encounter. There are some really agressive ones in that area.
I've been studying BF since the '70's and investigating sightings since the early '80's.

Hey guys..if any of you have any quesitons of the michigan folks, just ask also.
We in Michigan started discussing the idea of a group outing way back in 2003, and after a get together in late winter of last year, we had our first outing in June. It was by all measures, a wonderfull success, and led to 4 more outings last summer and fall alone...and will undoubtedly lead to many more this year, including one large scale one to the U.P. of Michigan, as well as at leat one likely outing in Indiana at some point. We have "members" from both Michigan and Indiana, and likely will have folks on the big U.P. trip from all over the midwest...
So, if you all have any questions, just ask! There are several of us who would be more than happy to help you all out in any way we can.
Regional "groups"..be they organized or simply groups of friends(which is more along the lines of what we do), are wonderfull experiences...NOT to be missed.
A few days around a fire, or listening to tree knocks at 2 am, with like minded individuals...you end up with some of the best friends you will ever have...and that's the truth.

Back in the early '70's, Walker Co. newspaper "The Daily Mountain Eagle" (Jasper) reported "the Wildman of Winston Co." near Smith Lake. I think they even had a pic !
Give the paper a call & get the info for us !

I
think so. That night is still so hazy. Something about we were going out to go cow tipping, but then we came up on these neato mushrooms growing out of a cow pie and we had the munchies (I think it was that day when RB got his first bong), and then I had a ten minute conversation with Jesus about whether or not nilla wafers were really the best thing to put in banana pudding as opposed to lady fingers...
Man! What a night that was!

Hey big c! I am from Jemison,Ala. If you know where Clanton is then you know where Jemison is located. If i can be of assisstance in any way let me know. Maybe i could help post reports or something. I probably wouldn't be much help in the way of investigating as i am wheelchair bound, so deep woods trips aren't really realistic in my case. But i do spend a lot of time in front of my computer, so maybe i could help in that way! Let me know.

Well after that last post big c, i don't know if you would want me in your group. Seeing as how i eat, sleep, and breathe AUBURN FOOTBALL. You sound like my brother, and yes we did have some knock down drag out fights because of this. I remember hitting him in the head with a biscuit rock once after auburn beat the tide. We both took our lumps and get along fine now in our adulthood, but it's a wonder we made it this far

It's all in good fun, I bleed red and white but Bigfoot has nothing to do with the SEC, although he'd make one heck of a linebacker......Shula?, got a hot prospect. Besides, I hate Auburn but I loathe, literally loathe Tennessee.

Come on, let's find Bigfoot proof!!
