The dates have been set for next year's event. It will be held on the weekend of October 14-16, 2005, again in Jefferson, TX. The speaker line-up so far will include Rick Noll (with a much expanded, longer presentation), Jimmy Chilcutt, Loren Coleman and Jeff Meldrum. I'm still working on lining up additional speakers.

:dancedude: Sweet, just marked it in outlook, will remind myself every month until then. I recently discovered the Sasquatch phenom was a local one to me in NW Louisiana. Not long after that, I surfed onto the Texasbigfoot banner for the that meeting in Jefferson. Wish I could have made the last one but had to spend that weekend studing.

You should try to get Jane Goodall to come Craig.

It would be interesting to hear her take on the subject, and having her there would definitely draw interest from the press.
It would also be great to invite TLC, the Discovery Channel...and what about that Brit who's been searching for Orang Pendek in Indoenisia? All would be great to have.
The only other thing I can think of would be to invite local Anthropology departments and see what they have to offer on the subject.

I plan on making it, so long as I am here within a year.

Conference update
Paul Cropper of Australia has been added to the speaker linep.
Here is his bio:
Paul Cropper is a marketing manager with a major Australian telecommunications company and one of the country's leading cryptozoologists.
Since 1975, he has actively investigated strange animal reports across Australia and New Zealand. Together with Canberra-based colleague Tony Healy, he co-authored "Out of The Shadows" (Pan Macmillan, Sydney, 1994) a comprehensive summary of Australian animal mysteries. Paul and Tony are currently completing a new book on the Yowie, a Bigfoot type creature reported from the more rugged areas of the countries eastern coast.
Paul will be providing a detailed summary of his research and summarizing the case for and against the creatures existence.

I'll move heaven and earth to be there. No offence to any other conferences but the TBRC is the best sasquatch conference anywhere on the planet. Aside from excellent speakers those TBRC people have to be the friendliest most hospitable people you could ever meet.
See y'all in Texas, pardner. Sorry Craig, that was a rather ghastly attempt at being Texan!!

Conference update here. I have a few additions to the speaker lineup. I'm still not sure how I'm going to do it, but Alton Higgins and Matt Crowley have been added as speakers for the 5th Annual Texas Bigfoot Conference. I should have the info up on the website ASAP.

Whatever it takes mi amigo! I WILL be there.
I only found this thread tonight and I still have much to take care of (yes, at 3am...I'm a night person) so I've yet to re-check the latest additions to the line-up on your website. I'd best save that for after the weekend, and I can hardly wait! Sounds like a great scene you've got lined up!
Can't wait to lay eyes on the odd assortment of people I've met over the years. And to be audience before the names on your itinerary. There is much to be learned.
See you all there!
Edited because I CAN.

:flagcanada: would love to get to texas one of these years. but it seems to be getting harder rather than easyer as the years go by with skyrocketing ticket prices, high fuel costs, not to mention the ever changing rules at the border
Soon all canadians will need a passport to visit the U.S. And in canada the process to get one is one huge headache.

Oh, for heaven's sake! We should just be the same country! Wait, I take that back - that would be offensive to Canadians.
For whatever reason (I'm not saying racism), we don't have billions of $$$, helicopters, and heat-seeking unmanned aircraft flying around the Canadian border keeping Canadians out, now do we? NO! Maybe we just fear learning Spanish more than we fear French.
It's a crying shame you can't make it to the harmless town of Jefferson for a convention about an animal.
READY! AIM! FIRE!
I've been shot at so much I don't even feel it anymore. Let 'er rip. I'm about as sickened as I can get.
Sorry Mr. Steenburg. If you're the T.Steenburg I'm thinking of, I've heard of you for many years.

As far as local accomodations go I can't speak very highly of the Jefferson Inn's beds. The one my wife and I had was like trying to sleep on a sheet of plywood. In all fairness they appeared to be remodeling but I think you might be better off going with one of the local bed & breakfasts or a motel in one of the nearby towns and driving in.
The bed and breakfasts, while more expensive, do look like they might be considerably more comfortable.

I contacted the festival organizer and they are sending up some of the Hairy Man Festival shirts for us to sell at the Conference. So people will be able to pay tribute to you with their outerware...as opposed to the usual way.
