Ah heck, you pick based on your particular tastes. "Mark as read" is the main function I use these days, because I'm convinced every last one of us is in desperate need of a licensed therapist.

We Now have somewhere in the vicinity of two dozen or more threads discussing various parts of "Pattys" anatomy from arms to teeth to buttocks, Whats next toenail fungus and her deviated septum? If you look hard enough I'm sure you'll see it. We've (well some of us) have broken down and blown up nearly every frame of a 35 year old film for what purpose exactly? Thats the question isn't it? How much more can we "see" that is or isn't there before the entire film is all but useless ? I think we passed that point a ways back myself. The more details that may possibly exist ,note not exist but possibly, the more it looks like any of us interested in bigfoot are reaching and grasping at straws.

Then of course there are the other photographs and evidence. Ooops ..No there's not. Tree breaks,X formations and strange sounds heard in the night. Not exactly evidence but the way its treated by some of us here you would think that Moses came down from then mountain to speak the gospel of squatch. Can't be any other explantion for it in some cases other than a sasquatch,not that anyones ever seen a sasquatch break a tree.Or make an X. Why X anyway ? Wouldn't it be easier for sas to leave the tree straight up ? I'm pretty sure he really doesn't need a marker to find his way around. Of course for our over-footed psyches we'd probably be discussing "I" formations if that were the case. Don't think so? Look around at some of the current topics and discussions, ( No you look!! Do your own research !! My favorite current arguments.)

We'll always have the posse comiatus as well ,I still prefer the term meanie head, has more of a ring to it. But anyway, I find it funny that every time a little common sense is used ,when dealing with a claim ,sighting, photo or whatever that the person in question gains automatic status in meanie heads anonymous. (Some of us meanie heads don't like each other all that much either. ) Most would rather wait and see and let the evidence develop over time,never mind the red flags or inconsistencies in any given report from the start. On some of these things, two years later, we're still waiting. ( My best guess at this pont is they sent gibbon reagents,and not the original primate ones requested.) So which is worse holding out some false hope forever on what amounts to nothing ? Or getting it over and done with as quickly as possible?

Lastly.Cry Wolf!! I mean Bigfoot !! That happens alot and once again the benefit of the doubt is given.I'm very much doubting the benefits of giving benefits about doubting anymore. So many have come into this forum, or others and told of seeing a bigfoot. Behind a rock, in a tree, driving a Lexus. And its like a support group has formed for them. The worst part is the get to do it repeatedly, and still get the benifit of not doubting...doubting...giving doubt..ahhh one of those anyway. The biggest problem used to be that if you saw a bigfoot every time you stepped out the door to look, your crediblity was shot. Now there are no consequences. Post away.Heck come on back and do it again , as long as you regale us with a tale and keep it Interesting. Over and over and over. Its sad.

I could not agree with you more. I bet I have said 20 times over the last few months here that patty needs a rest. Them damn people are working that poor girl to death.
What worries me is that even in this day of age where we have so much better tools to work with, No other film has been made of a Bigfoot. If a film like that was taken today with modern stuff just think how much better it would be for us "Believers". Chances are that one film could last 50 years as patty has lasted this long lol.

Anyway I have found myself wondering lately if Bigfoot is real or not :-( I have not been lucky enough to see one in real life and not that I am disabled I may never. My belief in it is all from other peoples reports including families and what I have read on the subject.
When I start thinking about it to much it is sicking that nothing else even close to the patty film has been made. As far as I feel it is the only yes the only film or picture online that is real. Yup I think that every other film and picture are fakes or just blobs.

i kinda like to rehash all the same old stuff cuz there are constantly new people coming in and everyone has a different view. i mean, these new people have new thoughts and different ways of looking at things and we get some new ideas mixed in with the same old s**t.

at some point great things will happen and i think it may happen here.

this place is exciting to me and i'm always learning new things here.

The unfortunate truth is we're all here talking about a topic where nothing new really happens from week to week, month to month, or even year to year. Also, we're constantly acquiring new members who, for whatever reason, don't use the search button to help them sift through 130,000+ posts. And even if they did, do you blame them for not reading a thread with 42 pages before posting?

It's kind like we all sit around and discuss a soap opera that only comes out with a new episode every 18 months. I suppose we could add a NASCAR forum or something to give us new grist for the mill, but short of that, I'm not sure what the solution is.

Good rant, Jim. Although I know that I am buried in that rant somewhere. IMO, the issue of Patty keeps getting brought up because it's such an icon in the world of BFery and so many people hang their hat on it. One mention of a possible red flag, and many will come to the rescue of poor old beat-to-death Patty. But, sometimes when new stuff comes up as far as a nice clear enhancement like the one with the leg shake and the upper thigh fold, new comments are warranted. Truth be told, after getting involved nut deep in the politics and personal issues with individuals on this forum, and dealing with my own stuff here on my end, I probably do need a therapist. After being here so long on this forum and getting used to having it a click away, this place is like family, and you always are caring about what's going on in your absence. But, like family, you can only take so much of Uncle Ted's and Aunt Marge's "quirks" until you finally stop attending the yearly Christmas party and take a vacation in another state instead.

One time that I wish the saying, " if you do not remember the past, you are doomed to repeat it." would come true.

The search is a very good deal here. There are lots of interesting threads to read.

I would say that there is one new thing going on right now --the stabilized images of the Patterson film. These are awesome. I like how I can check them out at my leisure, over and over.

But this forum is no different from any other I've ever visited. There are all kinds of people here, including those who really really like to put on the "biyatch hat". And then there are those who like the read what comes of putting on the biyatch hat.

Of course, this always provokes a reaction the other way, "Stop all that biyatchin'!"

And then there are those who love that popcorn avatar. "Fight fight fight!"

It happens at every forum, it must be human nature, completely independent of sasquatchery.

More threads on Patty should have been foreseen when BitterMonk uploaded some of the work MK Davis recently did. The animated gif files, and all. No need to biyatch about it.

Yeah, it does seem like in some threads the standards of proof may have slipped a little. And I definately agree the Patty film has pretty much been sucked dry of any and all relevant data.

I'm glad to see branch formations were mentioned. I never saw what the big deal was with those. To paraphrase Dr. Vinkman in Ghostbusters, "You're right. No... human being... would stack sticks like this."

I do confess, though, that I like hearing people's stories. Whether it's true or not, I just like hearing a good story. Now, there are those that say they're true and go on to give the most ludicrous accounts. Albert Ostman's account, for example. I'm convinced he's full of it. Those stories I find insulting. But I admit I read reports on BFRO solely for entertainment value. An account is never going to prove anything, so rather than look for proof in a story, I try to sit back and enjoy. I also find them to be enjoyable critical thinking exercises.

All in all, good rant. I'm with ya.
