hey choctaw omg sorry your loss but those 2 above replys are very informative. but the sasquatch creatures must be prowling boggy creek-sulpher river bottoms becouse the wicked weather & the creatures must be looking for various food resources like deers, hogs & fish etc therefore they will be seen more often now in summer months. thanks bill green sad.gif new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

I found these two post informative also. I have heard this same sound twice while in the field researching. I lived on a cattle ranch outside of Boxelder Texas and I am familiar with the sounds that cattle make and these sounds were not made by a cow, calf or bull. Does it mean it was a bigfoot that made the sounds, no not at all. It means that bigfoot may have made the sound. The areas I heard these sounds have a history of bigfoot activity. There is a known great ape that makes a similar sound and that is the Orangutan.

Here is a link to the where the sound can be found. Listen to the longest version.

Choctaw
Big Texan,

Thanks for the link. The orangutan vocalization is similar, but it is not the same sound. The sound I heard has a higher top pitch as each new series begins.

I too spent much of my early childhood around cattle on my grandfathers farm. I have heard them make some strange calls and I wouldn't rule out it being a cow with something wrong with it, but at the I was hearing it I wasn't truly sold on it being a cow. Something just wasn't right with the call.

BC Cryptid
Ha ha ha, reminds me of my recent backwoods expedition with the girlfriend. After driving for hours on horrific roads in deep bush, we stumbled across some fishermen who had been living in the woods for months. They gave my g/f the twice over, licked their lips, and invited us to sleep at their place (they had quite the elaborate Taj Mahal going on, done in logs and tarps). My g/f was getting an alert signal on her 'SLIME' radar so we declined, got going and set up our own spot.

They came looking for us later on that evening as well and again invited us over, this time for dinner, but we had just wolfed down some fairly massive steaks and were just getting into a game of cards so we declined.

Needless to say, I slept with my k-bar under my pillow that night.

When I woke up the next morning my truck had a big bolt in the tire. I changed it and we got the HELL out of there.

It's in the middle of town on Hwy 71. However, it's not called Monster Mart anymore and the painting of the Fouke Monster has been painted over. new_thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif
Teresa
Yep the old Monster Mart isn't named that anymore and the old cut out of the monster is gone. They still have the little fuzzy monster dolls inside though, at least they did last I looked.

I've heard a lot of strange cow calls too but that's all I ever thought they were. Cows at weaning time (when the calves are separated from the cows) will make some of the gawd "awfullest" sounds you ever want to hear. I've heard some bulls make some mighty strange calls too. Can BFs sound like that? If they exist, maybe, who knows? I've also heard some bellows that were way off in the distance not distinct at all and not where I'd ever consider cows to be but cows are pretty mobile critters... it's always possible they got into an area they weren't supposed to be in and were lost and bellowing. I couldn't hear it well enough to say whether it was a cow or not. That's the most likely animal though since there is no shortage of them around here.

We'll never know for sure what happened that night my neice's fiancee got lost. Whatever it was sure scared them. I don't think you can fake fear like that. He actually looked pale. LOL I'm just glad it was him and not me. I'll always wish they'd looked out from that makeshift blind to see what it was that pushed over the tree.

SLIME radar...

Oh PS Bill... the mosquitoes are so bad this year from all the rainfall the wildlife is probably a quart low just about now. I feel sorry for anything or anyone that has to tangle with the hordes of mosquitoes we have now. The heat and humidity is pretty bad but the skeeters are unbearable!

In GA it has been extremely dry we were like 18 inches behind in rain fall. THEN the rains came and the mosquitoes are making up for lost time. After an outing this weekend I many have to go get a blood trans fusion!!!!

Hey Bill,

Good to hear from you. No, I haven't seen Mr. Crabtree since Apr/May. When I did see him, I went to his store/museum and purchased his books. They are a good read. He also has a CD of his stories that you would probably enjoy.

I plan to fly over there and take some more aerial photos when I can save some gas money.

MK - The two "gentlemen" didn't say anything about you having a "purty mouth" did they? laugh.gif

The story about cooking the monster up to maintain a certain demographic profile in the area is consistent with stories others have told me in the past about Fouke. Considering the place and era it is entirely plausible if inexcusable.

I have also heard the stories about a lady in the 1990's who maintained a private zoo or collection of exotic animals in southwest Arkansas and turned them loose. I have been told that the state was going to take action against her and she turned them loose rather than deal with the state. I've heard of the big cats but the gorilla is a new one to me. There has been some speculation that Crabtree's mystery skeleton may be the remains of one of the big cats sans skull.

While I have not heard of a gorilla being set loose I have spoken to two credible individuals who claim that at least 4 African velvet monkeys were turned loose - one of which was killed by a deer hunter and made news in a local newspaper. I haven't had a chance to get over there and spend some time with my witnesses yet. This particular incident was along the Ark/Okl border between DeQueen and Ashdown I believe in th late '90's.

There is at least one recorded incident in which a circus train derailed in the Ouachita mountains, around Mena I think, and an unknown number and species of circus animals escaped. Whether or not they were all recaptured or killed I do not know. There was at least one polar bear that was never officially accounted for although locals stories say certain unnamed individuals dined on polar bear stew that year. This was in the '50's/'60's.

If I get a chance to get over and spend some time in that area maybe I can dig up some more specific info.

hey fellow arkansas researcher its been awhile whats new with your arkansas sasquatch field research etc. please keep us posted ... ok. good evening bill smile.gif

Hello Bill,

There have been several reports of exotic animals being seen in the Sulphur River bottoms. I have spoken to a gentleman who was witness to at least 50 spider monkeys moving at a rapid rate of speed through the tree tops while hunting squirrel in the 80’s. I received a report yesterday from a gentleman who claims to have heard a lion or tiger roar in the Sulphur River bottoms. I have personally seen large cat tracks that were much larger than any mountain lion tracks I have ever seen in the river bottoms. I think an attack from a Bigfoot is the last thing on my mind while researching in some of these areas.
