Anyone ever heard of a report of a "horned" creature, best described as a gargoyle? (Approx. 6 to 7 feet high, bipedal)
Just got a report about a possible horned creature sighting which I am trying to figure out.
Anyone on the board who might be able to shed some light on this?
(Will post report after I'm done speaking with the lady. Could just be a nutcase or attention freak)

Horned creature? No. Horny creature? All the time.
Sorry. I tried to resist. Truly I did.

Ohhhh Fish, you are so bad!
Don, I do remember reading a sighting report of a horned creature that was bipedal, the witness referred to it as "devil" looking because of the horns yet hair-covered.
I will try and find that report and pass it on to you, just incase you find some similarities in it.

Not sure if this is the same one I read before or not, but here is one from the GCBRO website of a creature that was bigfoot-like but had 3 horns.

Well, apparently we are going to get a photo out of this. I was promised a duplicate print (But I have to pick up the cost of the developing at the one hour lab)
This will be interesting
Anyways, I am still waiting to finish my conversation with her but so far it is pretty weird.

I spose I need to review all the previous similarly described claims but Don, is this anything at all like a BF? Is it similar except for the "horns"
??????? Is everything else right or is there some way out claims on it like it (flies, eats glass, walks through trees, can rip a phone book in half... wait check that last one) ?? Can she see the genitalia on it? (Well you said it was...) Wait, that was Fish. Damn.

Don't forget about Tim, the horned wizard in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". His descendents may be lurking the forests, hurling thunderbolts.

Sure have Don.
Look up the thread titled
"Fear the wendigo!" for a bit of serious weirdness.
Aparently, these have a long history in Native American culture...

I don't have any websites handy at the moment but check out reports from Maryland on the Goatman. That was described as a large hairy biped with horns.

Ok, here is the story as I recorded it.
Subject is 44 years old, lives alone and had just returned home from work. The subject is a real estate agent and spends much of her time working out of her home office when she is not seeing clients. On this particular day she noted that there was an strong smell of something that she described as sewage as she approached her front door. Upon entering her home she went into her office and retrieved her messages. As she was listening to them she noticed something outside her rear window that looked like it was 'hugging" or trying to climb a tree. She stopped the answering machine and continued looking outside. It then moved very quickly down the bank behind her house, described only as a tall dark blur. About 40 minutes later she saw it again, this time she was in the kitchen peering through the back window. It was close to the shed now and was picking through the composter. She went back into her office and grabbed her camera. She took a photo through the glass and then slid the patio door open slightly and took another photo. Doing so caused some noise, afterwhich the creature fled the scene. She took another photo as it did so.
I inquired about the description of the creature. I wanted to justify the horns and she mentioned that it could have been horns or tall ears. I asked if it could have been possible that it was just hair, possibly wet and/or frozen and sticking up. She said that it could have been anything but it looked like horns. It was described as roughly 6 feet tall, dark & hairy except for a portion of the chest which seemed gray and spotted with dark patches. No neck and very stout. Moves very quickly. Had dull glowing eyes.
Appeared to move with a bit of a slouch, like it had a back problem.
I asked if she called the police to which she stated no, simply because it is a small town and her reputation would be at stake. She did call a friend whom she trusts and that friend came over for dinner to offer company after this ordeal. I asked if it was possible to see foot prints around the area the creature was seen and she said yes but the snow had been coming down. I suggested covering one or two good ones with something as to not damage or spoil them. She agreed.
I inquired about the pictures. She will (or is in the process) of getting them developed. I offered to pay for this set and she agreed. I also asked if it would be ok to come up to get the pics and to see the foot prints and she agreed (Good timing- The weekend is upon us).
I could sense fear in her conversation with me but I could also sense professionalism and mannerism that I would assume is common with someone who has a job like hers.
Area is located about 10 minutes south of Timmins, Ont. Rural setting, lots of bush and uninhabited areas.
Thats all I have for now. Will report more as I get it.

Wow, Don, that sounds very promising! One question, though. What time of day was this? Daylight, dusk or evening?
Hopefully those pictures turn out! I got my fingers crossed for you...

Time was approx. 4:30 when she saw it at the composter so it would be a little dark at the time.
I thought about her statement regarding taking the pics through the window. If so, and it was getting dark, the flash would go off, making the picture useless. On the other hand, it might have still been light enough to not have to use the flash or she was using a good camera and proper speed film. The brightness of the snow could also cause the flash not to trigger. Ah....Questions Questions Questions. That's what research is for!

This does sound good Don. Hopefully the pics she took through the open door come out. One of the things that jumped out at me was the grey chest with dark patches. One of the better skunk ape sightings described a creature with grey hair and bald patches, indicating old age. That could be the case here. An older creature has more trouble obtaining it's natural food. That could explain why it was rummaging through the garbage. Keep us posted on this one Don.

Excellent work, Don! This story has some real potential. Given the amount of cooperation, the photos, and the invite to investigate, this sighting looks like it may provide some evidence of the visitor. Can't wait to see the photos. I hope they were well shot, and without too much loss of detail. Keep us posted!!!

Just got back from up north. My god it was cold and windy!
Had some problems with the truck on the way up which threw a wrench into my plans but I did get some things accomplished.
Well I met up with the lady who claimed to see BF. Nice lady, very polite and understanding. It was comforting to have a sense of not being looked at like a nutcase.
There were footprints as she stated and most had been covered over, if not completely gone from the wind and snow. She did cover some, two in fact that were in pretty good shape. She had put a rubbermaid container over each one and a piece of firewood on top to stop it from blowing away. Photos were taken with a reference item (Thanks Streamrunner for that piece of advice!). I used a CD case for such a job.
From what I could gather the tracks came and went into the bush behind her place which is like a ravine. Beyond that is the great Canadian wilderness with nothing around for miles except rock and bush.
The composter did appear disturbed with pieces of vegetable and fruit scraps lying around the area. The cold weather seemed to retard the decomposition but you could still tell that it was rotting. No hair samples could be found after a thorough search of the compost bin and tree branches in the area. I did ask which tree the creature appeared to hug during the first spotting and she pointed to one which I checked for hair samples. Nothing was present except snow covered prints.
Having thoroughly searched the area until late afternoon Saturday, I asked if it would be ok to come back during the evening hours for a little while. She said that was fine but that she would not be around. I went back to my cabin for a quick meal, record some notes, make some calls (cellular internet worked but is soooo slow) and then headed back.
I approached the yard with caution as I was using the night vision monocular. I was scanning the entire area in a sweeping motion from left to right and I did not see anything. I turned on the infrared to see if I could get any eye reflections. I did get one set of eyes, looked to be a racoon? Not entirely sure but it was some sort of small animal. The rest of the time I saw nothing. No vocalizations were heard during the entire trip.
I left after 45 minutes back to my cabin for the night.
In the morning I telephoned the lady to inquire about the photos. I have to unfortuantely report that she has been using her camera quite often for sales advertisments and has not been able to get the pics in yet but she only has a few more shots left, after which she will tell me when they are ready. Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing them but I did not want to sound to pushy or greedy. I am her guest and I am delighted that she even put up with me and did many of the small favours that I asked, so it wasn't really appropriate to "whine" about the photos. Patience.....Sometimes it hurts!
Anyways, I have photos of the footprints, the area and some other shots that I will make public to everyone
Interesting sidenote here; The odour that the lady spoke of was not present until late evening just before I was leaving. It could have been septic, not sure, and it was windy so it might be carrying from afar. It was by no means strong but it was perceptable. Also, the lack of wildlife, although frigid and windy, was very interesting when viewed in comparison to my cabin area which has deer, birds and the odd cry of packs of foxes.
Somewhat off topic but relevant to field equipment: When that wind is blowing and the snow is flying watch your infrared emitter usage on your night vision. Those little specks of snow, when hit just the right way can reflect back like the sun!

Great job Don! Did any of the prints have discernible toes or other features that remained, or were they too old to show any detail? Also, how far apart were the prints?
It blows that the photos weren't ready yet, but like you said, we all know the word "patience" all too well.

Cool report Don!
Funny that you mention the snow in the night vision thing.
Night before last, I was playing around with mine, and we had some heavy lake effect snow squalls.
I found out the IR emmiter is essentialy usless under those conditions, as like you say the snow is reflected back.
In heavy snow such as I experienced, it just obliterates the view with an almost strobe like effect.
However, I found that with snow on the ground, you have plenty of ambient light to get at least a marginaly good view of the surroundings anyway.
