This weekend marks one year .. since my son and two friends watched a Sas run across our yard near the lake, then walk back across closer to them while they beat the door down trying to get me to wake up and let them in. 3 months of odd activity followed that night on Oct. 10th, 2003. Hard to believe time has passed this quickly.
This weekend, my daughter and I will be joining a small crew of other Hoosiers in the Hoosier National Forest for some observation, listening, and high hopes of seeing "something" happen down there. If it doesn't, that's fine... but if it does, I'll tell you all about it as soon as we get back in on Sunday afternoon.
Here's wishing us ALL some luck this fall as the colors change, the temps start dropping and our favorite obcession dominates our thoughts 24/7!

As I am from that area I know you will have a great time even if you do not see a thing :-) I wish I was up there now as I would ask to come along with you all in your looking :-)
Are the trees turning colors yet ? Seems a little early but if they are it should be even that much nicer.
I talked to my Mother last night up there and she said the temps are really nice at night so should be great camping if that is what your doing.
Oh well have fun and please give us a report when you get back home :-) and good luck

LoL... not only are the leaves turning... plenty of them are already falling, at least up here in the northern end of the state they are.
Yes... we're camping out... day temps right now in Hoosier land are just making the 60s... will be in low 70's by the weekend. LAST NIGHT, it was actually 27 degrees... but by the weekend, they're calling for lows only around 50 or so... so that shouldn't be so bad.

This talk of leaves turning reminds me to issue another plea to anyone in the far NW Cal area to try to get a shot within the next week of the film site, or of Bluff Creek from the road, showing (hopefully) that nothing has started to turn red yet and thus increase the implausibility of BH's claim that the PG Film was shot in Sept. (Since a bright red vine maple was evident in the background.)

I was just wondering where in the Hoosier National Forest you was planning to go 'cause I pretty much live right in the middle of it.What county are you going to?
