I live in Chesapeake and I've seen squat. There's very few reports from Virginia that I've seen. It makes me think that they don't like it here.

Hello etheral,

I know, current Virginia reports seem to be scarce. I don't have the reports in front of me, though off the top of my head re coastal areas, I do remember reading about some hunters on Chincoteague Island, Eastern Shore, Md. that were on a special lottery style hunt for Sitka ? Deer, and they as well as a couple of the other hunters saw a hairy man- sized creature that was running around on the island evading the hunters. They asked the game warden , who amazingly confirmed there had been sightings of an unknown animal there, but said little else. Another Eastern Shore sighting occured in the 1700's in an area called the Craddock Neck Swamp. It would scream at night with a mournful cry and men with dogs and torches would go out on to the marshes looking for it. If I turn up the reports I mentioned, I'll post them here. So I would say any marshes or swamps near old growth timber might yield some results if you are into field research. Like Bow Hunters or any hunter on a stand, the researcher seems to have a greater chance of seeing one of these creatures from an elevated motionless position at a game crossroads , cover or water source.

I have heard of a few reports in Virginia. Some of the areas in particular are Culpeper, Quantico and Prince William Forest Park. I have been so interested in Bigfoot since I was very young. I want to thank everyone who responded to my message. I will continue to use this forum. It is very interesting.
