What ever happen to all the hype and hoopla that this book was going to do in the Bigfoot Researcher Community?

Was checking on Amazon.com:

after 7 months this is it?

Amazon.com Sales Rank: 93,606

as of 9/18/04

average review has stayed about three stars.

Hmmmmmmm, so much for blowing the top off here, eh?

What was the "top" that was supposed to be blown off?

Belief or disbelief of BF can be an entirely seperate issue from the P-G film and Long. For the skeptical world the name of the man that wore the "Patty" suit is largely meaningless. Even the details of how it was pulled-off are trivial. Skeptics (who have resigned to BF being a myth) already "know" that the P-G film is a hoax. The book is meaningless in further showing that BF is a myth.

In general, the world doesn't care about Bigfoot or what Bigfooters have to say about it. A book about BF just ain't gonna be a big seller. It's possible that Bigfooters account for more sales than skeptics.

Now...if a body were found....a book that told of the details of the finding and the scientific details of the animal (based on the body) would be an immediate international best seller on all non-fiction lists.

Long was the one that made the claim that the top was going to be blown off. Do a search here and you can find lots of references, you might find it educational.

Now, if we had a Forum devoted to the PG Film, or if we had an Index, that would make such lookups easier.

It wouldn't be tough to type in Greg Long into the search engine.

I just performed such a search, specifying threads, not posts, and setting the search period for 180 days. I got 42 pages worth of threads listed (41 * 25 + ? = 1025 + ?). It's like drinking from a firehose. Too many threads just make a passing reference to Long, or to other topics a person might search for. That's why my suggestions would be helpful.

BTW, I accidentally made a discovery about Search. By holding down the Ctrl key, one can click on more than one forum, and search both of them in one pass.

AND....

if you use the search engine to find "dumb ass" all of Greg's posts pop right up!

This idea is being considered.
