Hello, Everyone.

Here is a very small schedule just to let listener's know who will be on this week.

"Paranormal Airwaves"

7/27/04 LEE MURPHY

*Lee is a fellow crypto-fiction writer and a friend of our host, Dallas
Tanner.
Lee has two books out so far and is working on his third. His first book
is, "Where Legends Roam", which is a book about our friend, Bigfoot. His
second book is, "Naitaka" which is about the lake monster in British Col-
umbia, Canada "Ogopogo". His second book, "Naitaka" is the topic of our
"Paranormal Airwaves" show, Lake Monster's.
Even though his book is a fiction Novel he uses facts concerning the topic
in his books as does Dallas Tanner.

I will post a longer schedule as soon as I am able. I hope you will all enjoy Lee's interview. For those of you who met Lee Murphy at last year's Willow Creek Sasquatch Symposium he is one of the nicest person you could ever meet.

Sincerely,

Tom Cousino

Hope you all enjoy this tuesday's guest. Sheriff Truesdale should be a terrific guest and one to remember.

Well, as if we didn't have any more reasons not to listen to Artistfirst "Bigfoot Central", Erik Beckjord (who claims he is beloved by Bigfooters everywhere  ) is going to be on the show again very soon (not sure exactly when, EB didn't say on his site). And Artistfirst keeps burying themselves again and again. icon_bang.gif

Sorry, Tom, not interested.

bf2004,

You forgot to mention (to our new members and guests), that there are quite a few of us who are boycotting ArtistFirst because they posted a note on their website which basically told a goodly segment of their listening audience to kiss their asses. They have yet to publically apologize on their website although to Tom's credit, he did post an apology to us here.
bf2004
My apologies, Fish. Thanks for taking up my slack, though. Much appreciated. The basic reason they pretty much told their audience to kiss their *ss is because they were having Erik Beckjord on, a psychotic alleged Bigfoot "researcher" who has some whacked-out theories about Bigfoot. Next Tuesday, Artistfirst is doing it again. They're having Beckjord on again on their show. Usually, when you make a mistake, you own up to it and don't make it again. I guess Artistfirst hasn't learned from its mistakes. Oh, well, no skin off my nose.

So, is the issue because the radio program just plain scheduled Beckjord or that the listening audience doesn't like Beckjord at all?

If I remember, the fall out from the invitation to Beckjord to be on the program was between Artist First and Loren Coleman, the guest host. That it boiled over into the listening audience is regrettable. Yes, I agree that artist First Handled things in a less than professional manner. Yes, I'll agree whole heartedly that Eric Beckjord and his position on Bigfoot is on the fringe and unaccepted by one and all.

But, I argue that if Artist First wants to have Beckjord on every week, that is their right. I'm just not going to listen. Hell, Beckjord was on Coast to Coast AM and I'm not about to stop listening to that show.

Actually, I don't care if they want to make EB the host of the year! This is why I got ticked off. Yes, Tom gave a personal appology, but until one comes from the rest of the crew, I don't want any part of it.

Artistfirst World Radio-Announces end of Bigfoot show

Bigfoot Central is a Radio Show created by one of the owners of the ArtistFirst Network. It has been running weekly since 1999. The purpose of the broadcast is to provide a forum for the free exchange of ideas regarding Bigfoot. About 100 individuals have appeared on the show to voice their opinions on the topic. On every broadcast we read e-mails from listeners who wish to comment on whatever they wish to comment on.

ArtistFirst can not verify the creditability of any guest on any of our shows, or the authenticity of the evidence presented. We leave that up to our listeners to decide. Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of producing a show of this type to receive hate mail and threats from so-called Bigfoot enthusiasts who claim to know everything, about everyone, not to mention the petty child-like squabbles among many of the so-called "experts" in the field. (How disgraceful)

The staff at ArtistFirst is so tired of this "crap" from the very listeners we try to serve, that we have decided to cancel the show forever on June 29, 2004.

And yes, e-mails from you and others contributed greatly to our decision to walk away from this show permanently.

Perhaps if another network would be foolish enough to undertake a project like we have, they would be well advised to check with you first to make sure it's ok to have a particular guest on!

What a crock of #$%@!

Farewell.
ArtistFirst World Radio

Uh, you do notice that they didn't "cancel the show forever". Another case of putting the mouth in motion before the ass is in gear.

EDIT** Kimble, I just wanted to say that my post here was in no way aimed to slam anything you said. I just wanted to make sure that you, and others, knew everything that went down when this thing first blew up. smile.gif
tugboatwa
I respectfully continue to disagree with my respected colleague from the Sunshine State. I didn't like the action artistfirst took in first scheduling Mr. B, but I listened, if only to hear how messed up he is. And I wrote an e-mail to artistfirst after they promised to cancel the show... apparently they found enough interest to continue the program, if only every other Tuesday. icon_bang.gif

For now,I will continue to listen to DL Tanner and Bigfoot Central, if and only if the guest is someone I chose to hear. Not that I think any of you are... but I will not hold either DL or Tom. They, and the subject of Bigfoot, deserve a place on the radio.
GrandCherokee
Yeah..but it is sort of like scraping the bottom of the media barrel...
Bf at any price..I guess! The people who run the station have little integrity and behave very unprofessional. The least they could have done was save face by shutting down when they announced they would!

What kind of baby talk is that? They are an embarrassment to themselves and their ex-listeners!!
RB
Good, bad or ugly...

The show continues to get press...

Here we are on Monday... the show ain't even on until tomorrow...

And yet we are talking about it...

New listeners will turn on and tune in to the show just because it was discussed here today... guaranteed...

Regardless of your opinions of certain individuals in bigfootery...

Anything that promotes controversy about your product is almost always good for the ratings...

They never made any promises to try to have any agenda other than to talk about different aspects of bigfoot... not that I'm aware of anyway...

And that's exactly what they've done...

Have they lost a few listeners? It does appear so... but...

How many new listeners have found them that wouldn’t have had this controversy not happened?

I agree it is every individual's right to support any cause they see fit... or not to...

That goes for the management as well as the audience...

All I know is that any station that would air a live interview with Kathy Moskowitz cannot be completely insane...

I think the problem lies with the mis-conception the radio station is here for us... I don't think so...

If I ran a radio station, I'd run it however I see fit...

I'd make plenty of mistakes, for certain...

But if I told someone to kiss my @$$... and the ratings doubled...

You can bet your last dime I'd be telling someone to get bent every week...

How many death threats do you think Howard Stern has gotten over the years?

Probably a couple, anyways...

I wonder if he ever thinks of them while he's in the deposits line at the bank?

Yeah, yeah… I know… just call me splinter butt… but…

I also think the answer lies right before you all… me!

Make me the host and I’ll take care of everything…

A car in every garage… (Dad sells used cars)

A chicken in every pot… (Mom is a chicken thief)

Am I good? Oh yes… damn good… the bestest!

But I ain’t cheap… gummi-bears are pretty expensive, ya’ know…

Just think about it… and then write your congressman… biggrin.gif
Fishbone35
Good points RB, but (God, I love that word!)...

Well, Tug, it's your choice to listen to the Artistfirst show. Just don't expect me to be part of its listening audience. I don't know, I MAY listen tomorrow night. David Hancock seems like he might be an interesting guest. It may be the only time I listen. I will certainly not listen to EB next week, I'll say that much. I already know how whacked out he is, I don't need to hear him for 2 hours espousing his nutty views. But, I may listen tomorrow night, I haven't really decided yet.

Hey, cool, I didn't even have to submit a rant this week!
The very idea that they are having EB on again, cements my view of them....

This time....he mentioned ONLY tonights "show"(I use the term loosely).
Gee....I wonder why that is? new_evil.gif new_evil.gif new_evil.gif new_evil.gif

This may be true..but the fact that they CHOSE to try to increase listenership NOT by improving the product..but by taking the Jerry Springer route..tells me exactly what they are about, and where they are coming from.
Heck..mayb next month they will have BatBoy and the editor of the Weekly World news on to discuss the upcoming nuptuils between Bigfoot and BatBoys fat aunt Bessie......

Dave Hancock was the guest for two hours on tonight's artistfirst show, Bigfoot Central. Host DL Tanner continues to be the right host for the show... he even gave me a very oblique mention tonight when he talked about seeing a copy of the new Hancock House book, Meet the Sasquatch at a recent meeting of the International Bigfoot Society at the end of the St. John's Bridge, at the "famed" Dad's Restaurant. It was my copy he looked through... another touch with greatness!

Hancock started out as a wildlife biologist, mainly interested in peregrine falcons and eagles. It was on an eagle study that Hancock became good friends with the late Bob Titmus - a friendship which would result in Hancock publishing over a dozen books on the subject of Sasquatch/Bigfoot. As Hancock put it, after meeting John Green, Titmus, and the late Rene Dahinden, Hancock said,"I got sucked into the field of Sasquatch... I suppose that is the best way to put it."

He said he is a frequent expert naturalist on Celebrity Lines Cruises of the Inland Passage, between BC and Alaska.

He said that he enjoys interacting with the authors of the more than 500 books Hancock House has published. "I suppose it's because authors have to have a strong voice. Their words can come back to bite them later on!"

Detailing the process of creating a book, he said the first step is the writing, then the design of the book is created. "Sometimes an author will come in with a particular vision, that will remain through publication.

Chris Murphy contacted David Hancock with a proposal to do a book on Sasquatch. "It was originally going to be more of a catalogue of the museum exhibit." Murphy had written more than 80 pages and wanted a publisher before he went to the museum to propose the exhibit. The book continued to grow until Hancock had to put a stop to the rewritting and additional photos if only to get it printed before the start of the exhibit at the Vancouver Museum.

Hancock said they have already shipped over 4,000 copies of Meet the Sasquatch!

He also announced the release date for the next two Sasquatch books Hancock House will publish. Expect Murphy's updated The Bigfoot Controversy - (the original Roger Patterson book Do Abominable Snowmen of America Really Exist?) and John Green's updated Sasquatch: the apes among us will be released Apr. 15, 2005.

The good news... Green's The Best of Sasquatch/Bigfoot will start shipping tomorrow.

so...who is that next guest on AF again?

No. But there's nothing to fear, either. "This guy" is driven by his ego and nothing else. Any discussion about him, good or bad, drives him even more. Therefore, we tend to discourage any discussion of him and he is not allowed to post here.
