I'm seeing two versions of the DVD of Legend of Boggy Creek on Amazon.com. One sells new for 13.49 and the other sells for 22.00ish... They both have different looking cover art as well. The 13.49 one is a little darker than the other one. Does anyone know what the difference is and if there's a widescreen/letterbox version?

I have the original one. Bought it at Wal-Mart in the cheapo bin a couple of weeks ago for $5.95.

If you notice, the second (expensive) one has the words "Hen's Tooth Video" at the bottom of the picture shown. Who knows, maybe Charles Pierce did a remake when his funds from the sales of the first one dried up.

cool... $5.95...that's a deal... I remember watching it a while back on TV and remembering that the screen seeemed to be "formattted to fit your TV" and would "pan" back n forth between characters. Does the DVD do this or does everything fit on the screen ok...??

I bought what you call the expensive DVD from "Hens Tooth" video. It doesn't look a bit different than the VHS version I bought. I don't think I paid that much for mine though. I bought mine through the Movies Unlimited website

The only difference I would guess would probably be in the boxing of the DVD. Mine came with the nice box as opposed to paper cover you get with some movies.

I was hoping that for that kind of $$ there'd be some extra FOOTage...ehheh.. ok that was dumb.

I think I read somewhere a while ago that the DVD that was released in December, the one with the darker cover, is a slightly cleaner dub of the original movie. The earlier July release, ironically the more expensive one, has a bit more of a grainy appearance to the entire film and I also remember somone complaining that the sound is also not as good as in the second, darker covered December release. I wish I could remember where I read this and be able to point you to a link but I can't, sorry. Hope this was somewhat helpful to you.

I have both of these copies. I bought the first one, the more colorful cover, at Barnes & Noble for around $25.00. Then a few days later I found the second copy, the darked cover, at Wal-mart for around $5.00. There is very little difference between the two, video wise.

I say go ahead and get the cheaper of the two.

My 2 cents.

Would you be kind enough to post what it says on the back of both cases in the fine print, such as is it anamorphic widescreen, or formatted for enhanced televisions? I would greatly appreciate it.
