Where does one find Hydracal (and is it HydrA or HydrO?)? Hardware stores?

Thanks, Destin and Fish... it's either a trip to Detroit or Grand Rapids, looks like. Maybe I'll get on the phone and call around, just in case someplace closer has it.

Hydrocal White is very soft and kicks very quick. It is better to use the straight Hydrocal and to speed things up in it's cure add a handful of the white, mixing it in well.

Hydrocal is an industrial plaster so look in your phone book for tooling shops, Plaster Pattern shops, Tool and Die shops and such. Call them and ask where you can get a bag (around $20 for 100 lbs) or ask if you can buy a bag from them.

Buying on the internet you would be paying mostly for it's weight in shipping. You really want to find it locally.

Yep, I was thinking that...

Try checking the yellow pages under cement and/or building supply
places too Stac. Some of the larger ones will also stock Hydrocal,
that's one of the ways I tracked it down out here. BTW, $21 per 100 lb
in Baltimore.


Bip, this may be a good thing to include as a list on the other site
when it's fired up, locations where people acquire their supplies,
esp the more esoteric stuff.
