Found this little tidbit about the making of the original King Kong movie today:

Yeah, I remember when I was a kid and the '76 Kong remake was in theaters, there was some old fart on all the local talk shows telling a story like that. He went into great detail, about plaster buildings and gas powered model planes... :rolleyes:

Did they even HAVE gas powered models in 1932? blink.gif

Makes you wonder though if Bob H or maybe his grandpappy was around in Hollywood back then though doesn't it?

Willis O'Brien was the man that created Kong. It was the very nature of O'Brien's stop motion characters that inspired Ray Harryhausen.
