Posting this here for two reasons.1.As bipto pointed out this area is much underutilized and 2.why I've been posting less than I used to.We spend when reserching and interviewing so much time on the who(backgrounds, credibility and perception of the witness) the when (time, date etc,) where (location, area, surrounding topography) why (hoax, reality, just dumb luck of right time right place) the what (vocalizations, tracks, actual sighting) we often forget about the how of it.How could it have gotten there,to make all the others above matter.I'm spending alot of time going over some of the older reports and actually going out to those locations to inspect the feasability of a Bf actually being seen where its been reported. The latest is a sighting that was for the Cape Coral area here in So.Fla.No mean feat considering it would have to cross not one but two busy roads.(I-75 and U.S.41) to get there,Looking for the point of entry lately just seems that it may be very valuable to an investigation,In light of a lot of the theories that we've been sharing here on possible territoriality or migration patterns. It would be difficult but not impossible to get to CC.The area surrounding the town is very densly wooded and sparsley populated with three major points of entry that make it possible for a BF to get that far towards the coast without being seen by many.one is using the waterways of both the Peace or Myakka rivers.two by using some of the less traveled underpasses of the highways.and lastly crossing them at an all out sprint.utilizing the vegetation that seperates the north and southbound lanes.By comparison the Myakka Ape of the photos(which I still pursue sporadically)has more than a hundred possible points of entry into the % mile stretch I consider to be the most likely area of where the photos were obtained.the reasons for this are the Eckerd store where the photos were developed.Assuming(yes I know laugh.gif )that like most people the photographer took them to the nearest one for processing.being in an areaent to both Myakka st.park and within distance of I-75 based on the account which was sent to the sheriffs office with the photos.and lastly in this one the how it could have gotten near the house(s) unseen up to that point. The first two are easy to make a conclusion on based on the available evidence the third, the point of entry is alot harder. The Bf unlike in the Cape Coral sighting would not need to "lay Low" at any point in this area to reach its destination.because of the surrounding vegetation and swamp/park area. The Labelle sighting that Craig forwarded to me also has this kind of surrounding area.Small town near no major population area, surrounded by forrest and swampland. The last one (Hey Fishy remeber this one ? laugh.gif )is Damn near the city of Tampa itself. This I believe to be a hoax or misidentification.(Near the university)After checking the surrounding area I could find NO feasable way a BF could have gotten to where the alleged sighting occured without being detected.to avoid detection it would have had to stay directly in the river/canal for over 5 miles. This also doesn't account for the night fisherman and boat traffic that frequent the riverway even in the earky hours of the a.m.Those I saw so for arguments sake I'll say that a certain amount of water traffic exists most of the time and not just the night I was there.the only other option was to walk to the area down well lit streets avoiding detection, and go into and out of the water at just that perfect time for the sighting to take place which seems equally unlikely that the BF would have avoided detection through the middle of town only to be seen at that point in time.In this one there is a near impossiblity of how in it cannot have gotten to that point undetected.Sorry for the length, .I actually have a few more I'm working on at this time but I'll post on them at a later date. The hardest part is following up on some of the reports taken off of the Florida Skunk ape website.www.floridaskunkape.com/ no real information is required or given.other than a zip code in most cases. Both Fish and I have appealed to both the webhoster and those reporting the sightings without much luck.I'll keep working on this as time allows.
