I love these articles! They gave me the goosebumps. I didn't realize people from the 19th century spotted BF also.

I really appreciate all your research and hope you keep it up. It shows a historical pattern of sightings. Not all of them were demented men living naked in the woods.

I've checked that source--they say they are adding 1,000,000 pages a month to their database, so that after 18 months or so it will have doubled--at which point you'll have to repeat your search! (I wonder if they have a way to exclude pages added before the prior search date from the current search. Maybe someone should suggest adding that feature to them.)

I've seen some of these stories in Bigfoot books and articles. The ones that are new to Bigfootery should be somehow flagged, or an index created that indicates which are new, by someone.

I presume most people are aware of the debunking article in Strange magazine #5 (edited by Mark Corvinsky), which argues that because most early-days newspaper accounts didn't mention a foul odor or great height, they were referring to crazy hermits and banished lunatics and the like, not true ape-men.
