About 15 yrs ago,I was talking with elderly inlaws, now deceased, who told me a strange story.....They were a couple who back in the early 60s had homesteaded at a very remote location up in central British Columbia west of Quesnel..They had settled on land at the end of a jeep track where they cut and milled their own lumber and built a cabin. They were a very self sufficient couple who lived totally cut of from others during the winter..Their nearest neighbors were over an hour away by jeep....One summer day, they went on a several hour trip to town to buy supplies...When they returned they found that the door to their cabin had been forced open and was very damaged..
The lock hadn't been picked...In the front yard stood their kitchen wood stove, which was very heavy and had to be stood on it's end to get it thru the door...Inside the cabin only the kitchen was disturbed with food taken and floor scattered about...Guns, tools, money and jewelry were not taken.....I suggested that they had interrupted a burglery in progress and the thieves had heard them coming and fled...Don answered that the only way for a vehicle in or out was the road that they were coming up..They would have encountered any vehicles leaving as the cabin was at the very end of the road...He couldn't believe that thieves would have been intending to carry the stove the thirty or so miles thru the wilderness to the nearest neighbor..... I asked him what he figured..He shrugged and said; Grizzly???
Bigfoot was never mentioned....What do ya think.....
