bf2004
Today, I received a very cool item-a copy of a footprint cast made by Roger Patterson in 1964, along with a poster that explains the story behind the cast. I paid $55.00 for it, but it was worth it. The cast measures 17" long by 7" wide, is grey in color and shows 5 very huge toes. You cannot fully appreciate how big these creatures' feet are until you lay the cast on the floor and put your foot on it. My foot looked like a little baby's foot compared to the track. It's truly amazing. I was so happy to get the item, and thought I'd share this with y'all (and let you be jealous, biggrin.gif ).

You mean like this, QuatchWatcher?

Interesting fact about this cast-according to the poster, it was found on October 20, 1964, 3 years before the film was taken, and cast the next day by Roger Patterson.

Are you SURE on the year BF2004?

I bet there was a mistake made somewhere along the line because Patterson filmed Patty on 10.20.67.

That seems strange to me.

Did you get it on eBay?

Yes, I did get it from ebay, and the date is correct. The footprint was found on October 20, 1964. The film was taken exactly 3 years later. Obviously, Patterson went down to Bluff Creek and investigated around that time (1964). I am very correct on the date, QW. Thanks for your question.

Actually, I am hoping to sway Jon Larson to make me one of his when he has the time (I know he's busy). They sure are purty. smile.gif

Where did you get it from BF?

ML, I got mine from a fellow named Glen Evans, who runs an online store called "Basically Beasties". The link is http://stores.ebay.com/basicallybeastiesby...display=2\
Hope that helps, ML.

QW, trust me, it says on the poster that the track was found October 20, 1964, and cast the next day by Roger Patterson.

Mr. Larsen,

Hope you are feeling well! Can you post some ordering information for the tracks?

Thanks!

Sure......send me money and i'll eventually send you a Gerry Crew cast, mounted on a Varathaned board, molding on edges, cast description under plastic with brass brads, saw-toothed picture hanger on back........$75.......in continental U.S....more elsewhere......

The cast was done by Crew on a road construction site using plaster given to him by Roger Patterson....i got the molds from Dr. Jeff Meldrum who thinks that the animal was featured years later in the Patterson/Gimlin movie......

jon larsen, P.O. Box 802, Patagonia, AZ 85624........................

If you think that print looks big in your living room, try finding a print that size in a mole hill out in a mountain meadow while hunting some evening. Enough to give you shivers and hold your gun real tight. For the record, the print I found was 17x7" and showed flex in the arch.

BTW- It was also heading in the direction I planned to hunt. ph34r.gif
