Full Version: Best report ever?

I've tried to search the other threads and can't find anything like this...so, will start a new thread. If this has been discussed before, please let me know.

My question is, what is the best report you've ever seen or heard of? I'm talking about the kind of report where there is just no doubt whatsoever about that report being really believable..just a big new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif . Lately, we've been picking apart some of the latest reports because of things in the report that just make us go hmm new_hmmsmiley02.gif So, I'm wondering if there's any report(s) that are just way above reproach. Something where you can't find anything wrong with the report. The MOST believable report. Or, is there such a report?

Just curious.

I'd say the Reams sighting--because there were so many witnesses, several of them cops. If only the other witnesses (besides the Reams family) had been located and deposed! (Maybe it could still be done.) Another sighting is the one on the Lummi Indian reservation, where three cops saw a Bigfoot at close range for a good while and its howl was captured by the tape recording system at headquarters that was monitoring their transmissions.
uffda320
Wow. Those are very cool reports! Yeah, multiple eyewitnesses really help add credibility to reports. I hate driving at night when it's raining..always have to be on the lookout for a deer. Can you imagine driving along and a BF jumps out in front of you? Yikes! lol
Thanks for the reports...very interesting reading.

hi uffda

i dont know how believable it is, but my favorite story is the zoobie/here chicky chicky story from southern calif.

it is SO creepy

real? i have no idea, but i like to think it is

and that latest sighting posted by leeloo about the sas stalking and killing a pig in texas is a good one too....despite all the controversy.

I can't believe no one is really replying to this, so I'll go next. Dan Jackson down in Florida with the BF in the dumpster incident in 2002. I started to post this 2 days ago and said to self I better go back through the threads and see what everyone said about this one and sure enough it was there.

It was nice to see near the end of that debacle that DJ himself popped up, posted, and suggested that anyone that had any questions at all about his "encounter" to email him and he would send them his phone number and they could talk one on one....he was very open about explaining the occurence person to person on the phone with anyone that wanted to. Sure enough, when he did that, the thread died very quickly.

That said, DJ has been on the internet as long as I can remember and he's even answered some of my questions about snakes through emails several years ago when I got tagged in the boot by a copperhead on the trail. Too bad BF isn't a snake, I manage to find the things constantly wherever I go...I'm a magnet.

His reputation is a good one and he has made a career out of his love for reptiles down there in Florida and he has played in the field with wildlife longer than I have been alive.
There were alot of questions like people not believing why he did or did not do this or that and he answered them to the best of his ability and always wanted to do it by phone or in person and not lenghthy drawn out emails or such. He even went from a longtime very adamant "no kill" stance instantly to he would shoot one without a problem after his encounter.

I always thought this one to be unique and quite true. And he never did say how he expected to trap one live, but throwing the lid down on the dumpster and padlocking it wouldn't be a bad idea maybe if he was in the position to do so? I've believed this one the most just because of the man, his experience with wildlife, his openess to talk to anyone about it, and the reputation he has with his long and continuing career that he has to keep intact. His exchange with me about snakes several years ago, he was really eager to help, and I think that's just the kind of person he is.

Now I'm going to duck all the vegetables that are fixing to get thrown at me........

oh yeah! thats a good one too. forgot that one

i dont remember him coming here and posting what you said he did, but thats pretty cool of him

i wonder if he's had any more sightings since then?

Can you give me a link to this one ?
I can not seem to find it and I would like to read it again.
I seem to remember reading it at the time it was reported I think but do not remember much and would like to refresh my memory :-)

Don't kid yourself. That wasn't the reason the thread died down. There's only so much  one can do before you begin to become cross-eyed. And being a Florida resident myself, I'm damn tickled that Mr. Jackson is nowhere near my locale. The police in my neck of the woods wouldn't be too enamored by some "researcher" with a pistol hanging out behind the local shopping malls and watching for dumpster divers. It's likely the police in Mr. Jackson's part of Florida would feel the same way.
Painthorse
Hey Fish, wasn't DJ supposed to release a book about his "encounters"? Or am I confusing him someone else?
Fishbone35
I'm really not sure, Painthorse. Seems like he did mention that but once he dropped into obscurity and decided to only post on the romantics forums, I lost track of what he was doing.
Painthorse
Thanks Fish.
jimf
Yes he was supposed to release a book...but faded into "retirement' .
JWBrown33
Well Fishbone and others...what is the one you think is most credible other than P/G film?
Wildman
Best report ever? That's easy! It has to be the one commonly referred to as the Seige at Honobia! new_whistle.gif

So where in FLA is Mr. Jackson?? I'm headed down there in two weeks. Staying on the gulf side near Hudson. That county has had some reports in the past.
acesoreights
Dan Jackson lives in central fla i think but his encounter was way down south in collier county.
Fishbone35
Actually, his first sighting occurred in Collier County.

http://bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=607

From what I recall, he lives somewhere near the vicinity of Tampa and I believe that's where he claims his second sighting occurred.

Hmmm...I'll have to get back to you on that. Actually, there are several that I find quite credible, not to mention very interesting.
SkunkHunter
Yeah Dan (Skunkape) Hunter 'retired'.

Sorry but he is a hard core romantic. Also has a tendency to fire at things out of fear. That may not be as much his own fault but from his affiliation of a particular group of Bf hunters, they too also fired off at something. (What’s with these folks firing off from the hip like that anyway?)

He was also the first person to call all of Mary Greens disbelievers "jealous". I almost contacted him but a gut feeling told me not to. Glad I did because I would have wasted plenty of time researching an area based upon someone’s fantasy or delusion. I almost contacted another Florida guy. David BArkasy. I am glad he never e-mailed me back because I have come to the conclusion that he is a flake as well.

Here are some of Danes stories, found on the TNBS ladies website.

Notice in his stories. ANOTHER FREAKING PAW PAW. What’s with these people? First the Little Sam story (that MG fell for hook line and sinker the first time it came up) It had a paw paw. Then Jan Coy and her Paw Paw. Now Dan has one? See a pattern? Romantic rule #1 if you have a wild ass tale, make sure there is a paw paw involved.

Oh just for the folks who never heard of the little Sam story, here you go
http://www.tnbigfootlady.com/TBL/littlesamstory.html Yes she believed it.

As far as the original part of this thread? I can find something unbelievable about almost all reports, yet there are quite a few that send up no flags. Can’t really think of one off the top of my head and have no one particular story over another. So here is one off the top of my head (its one I saved). I have no particular reason as why its believable, maybe I just like it overall.

I have pretty much used up all my enthusiasm in the field of endeavor. I know I haven’t been posting much as of late and will probably post even less (to the relief of some). I just don’t really get excited over this subject like I used to.

1. Way too much behind the scenes he said she said garbage (happens anywhere and is to be expected)
2. Too many damn wild BS stories out there
3. Frustration over the amount of progress in the last 3 decades.

Do I believe Bf exists? I believe it might. There is no reason to discount its "possible" existence. I just don’t really care anymore I guess. It was fun while it lasted though. I met a lot of good people and you know who you are.

Keep on doing what you are doing; I always peek in to see what’s developed.

Great post, Skunkhunter. I know where you're coming from. The romantics do stick together, that's for sure. They keep each others fantasy alive by supporting one another. Dan Jackson is another one of those icon_abduct.gif ees into the "Yeah, right" hall of fame, right beside Mary Green, Janice Coy, Dallas Gilbert, Jeffrey Teagle, Jim Lansdale, Rick Tullos, Timberghost, Mark A., Doc, Sherry Malin, Goldie, AmPat, and a whole host of others who cannot provide SQUAT when it comes to hard evidence to back up their wild ass claims of AMAZING close encounters, gunshot bigfoot, and DNA samples. Hey, I just call it like I see it, sorry if that offends anyone.

And I am in full agreement with your list as well.

Wow! Already 2 pages into thread and only 3 of us have posted what we thought were credible sightings....alot of input from other people, but only 3 people going out and saying which ones they "liked" most....
bigGun
I'll jump in here. I just read this one on GCBRO. Usually a little skeptical about their reports but this one sounds credible and made a few goosebumps to boot.

The two reports that I favor are the the cowboy who slept in the rafters and quit his job the next day.

and

The forestry worker who saw bigfoot give right of way to a mama bear and cubs.

Both of these stories came across as factual claims and the people claiming the reports had more to lose than they stood to gain by reporting the incidents.

Sorry about no links sad.gif

Interesting Coco B...

Do you happen to have any more details on the bears/Quatch interaction?

The aforementioned hit a nerve with me and I am wanting to know if you could recall any more information regarding this sighting?

Sorry about no links, I can barely stay awake, new_sleepysmileyanim.gif but the forest ranger one is in the BFRO database on the west coast somewhere. It was very interesting,

The ranger or forestry worker was making his rounds when he noticed he was being escorted by a bigfoot. He was making his way back to his truck and was not happy about the escort out of the woods when both he and his big pal noticed the mamma bear and her cub(s). Bigfoot decided to leave well enough alone and the ranger hightailed it back to his truck.

I'M going look for a link.

This is one of my favorite reports. It freaks me out some because this is near the place we go to ride horses a couple of times a year. icon_stressed.gif

I've been saving this one for just such an occaision. True or not, I love the funny sightings, almost as much as the scary one's. Leave it to that Shealy guy in Florida to come up with this rather jocular report: http://www.ncbuy.com/news/wireless_news.ht...R4975E070030212 icon_really_happy_guy.gif
