omg, we set tivo to record anything that has the word 'bigfoot' or 'sasquatch' in the title or summary and found a show called Truth or Scare on discovery kids channel.

this particular episode was entirely devoted to bigfoot, with a small segment on yeti

a GREAT show with lotsa photos i've never seen b4, and interviews with krantz, green, and titmus, along with some good (yet hokey) re-enactments.

considering it was a kids show, it was very well thought out and informative. the mysterious encounters people should watch it and take notes.

watch for it if you have that channel...

Gael,

We caught that yesterday too. I'd have to agree with your assessment. For a kids show, it was very well done.

And you're right. OLN should have taken notes. I especially enjoyed the interviews with Bob Titmus, John Green and Grover Krantz. thumbup.gif

My boy and I watched it and then, his curiousity peaked, hit the web to investigate further. The one thing I didn't catch, in my excitement over his interest, was the undercurrent of stress. After hitting the BFRO and reading about some relatively innoculous encounters, it dawned on me that he was really trying to find out where the closest sighting was to our house. He wasn't happy when he found out there was one in the next county over. He also declined to play hide-and-seek outside with the neighbors that night; said he didn't feel like it. Hmmm, how to dig myself out of this one?

I have been watching for this but guess I missed it. Will have to keep an eye peeled wink.gif

Enkidu,
Sheesh. I don't know how much your son has been exposed to BF reports and hopefully he hasn't heard of some of the more hair-raising reports. That's quite a dilemma! unsure.gif

I am not quite sure how I would go about comforting my kids if they acted frightened about going outside due to BF because that hasn't happened to me (although my son is 13 and daughter is almost 2). I guess I would try to be honest and say "they are probably more afraid of you than you are of them and they try to stay away from people."
Not that that would help much.

I remember though, being a kid, and how your mind can run rampant with images of monsters in the dark, in the closet, under the bed, etc. I used to have horrible nightmares about those little green "oompah men" in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! (dumb, I know.. but they scared me when I was a kid!)

That's a tricky one. How old is he?

Man, that is a tough one. My son likes to read and study about bf. He seems to find it all pretty "cool". Says he would love to see one. Maybe he's just trying to be a tough guy, who knows. If he ever gets the chance, I guess I'll find out how he really feels. smile.gif

You know, I have to admit, after reading some of the reports on BFRO or other places, I get a bit spooked myself, so I can see how it would effect a young person. sad.gif
