A while back I asked Greg Long on this board why did he choose to investigate Roger Patterson and the PG Film versus other hoaxing subjects. His answer was so memorable and thought provoking that I just can't remember what it was and don't have the energy to go looking for it. So let me lay out some things here and see if you find something a little odd with all of this and then maybe you too will be wondering why Greg Long hasn't even raised the issue.

Some of the witnesses in Greg's book have come forward and said that Roger claimed to have had sightings before the PG film making, in fact he had pictures of the animal. Not even John Green heard of this before and Rene never mentioned anything about it. So where are these pictures?

Item #1 Missing pictures of Bigfoot dated early 60's.

Only one man claims that Roger had a suit, a Bigfoot suit. Where is the suit today?

Item #2 Missing Bigfoot suit.

Many of the witnesses Greg interviewed first told of Roger's sincere interest in Bigfoot and it was only after Greg lead the witness into developing a train of thought more in tune with his own about the entire business did they say something, anything that Greg could put a slant on to align to his theory of a premeditated hoax on the part of Roger.

Item #3 What changed a dedicated researcher into a hoaxer?

There is more information on hoaxing Bigfoot material in the state of Washington, where Greg lives, that does not pertain to the PG film and yet Greg didn't pursue it that way. There would have been a lot more meat to the book if he would of included people like Ray Pickens, Rant Mullens, Ivan Marx, possibly Paul Freeman and most definitely Ray Wallace!

Item #4 The three above items seem to fit Ray Wallace more than Roger Patterson. Ray wasn't very tall either.

So here is my thought and you will have to look at the pictures posted below to see if it holds any water.

Did Morris sell a gorilla costume to Ray Wallace? Ray Wallace had lots of pictures of a supposed Bigfoot. Roger visited Ray Wallace. Did Roger take along Bob Honker to see Ray? Did Bob Honker help Ray make some film? Did Ray visit Yakima for cameras, and film processing? Ray was in construction, road construction. Did Ray and Al DeAtley know eachother?

I thought a possible link between the Greg Long story of Roger Patterson and the similar aspects of Ray Wallace stories could be mixed up a bit and fused together over time. Certainly there seems to be more proof for this assertion than anything Long has come up with yet.

The foliage in this picture kind of reminds me of some of the valleys around Yakima.

Now this looks a lot more like something Morris may have made.

So who was in this suit? I don't think it was Mrs. Wallace.

Ok Where ya going with this DDA
Did GL gather information and rearrange the attributes?

Is the phoney suit reference refering to Wallace's Hoax Pics and
he assembled it as P/G ?

Come on lay it out biggrin.gif

You may have something ..,

by the way who is that last monkey?

One of Ray Wallaces pics.

I don't know where this is leading yet by find it strange that Greg did not pursue it even though he heard that Roger chased women and that Mrs. Honker acted kind of strange during the Honker sessions.

Could Ray have hired Roger to build a suit for him?

I hate asking questions for the guy but heck...

Seems like you're onto to something here, DDA!! and I know we aren't going to get a straight answer from Mr. Long.

I think he chose to attack Patterson and the P/G film because that's where his biggest chance of cashing in on his book was....the most famous piece of bigfoot footage.
What would he have gained by ACTUALLY investigating REAL hoaxers!! Probably some admiration and more book sales in THIS community! thumbup.gif

Well, glad to see you posting again. and glad you're here to put some of these pieces together. Makes sense. Let's see if we hear a response....
and, BTW, the title of the thread is a little tame....maybe it needs a new title.....
"The Making of Ray Wallace's Bigfoot" or "The Missing Links: Long-Morris-Wallace"... smile.gif

and "Honker".. icon_really_happy_guy.gif ..you're killing me! laugh.gif

The problem with the mixup theory is that Morris says that Patterson identified himself as a rodeo cowboy (p. 446). Ingenious theory though. Maybe there was SOME connection.

Now this one actually looks like the Morris gorilla costume on someone standing up right, brushed out, with shoulder pads under it. Why wasn't it used in Greg's book? There is a better match here than anywhere so far. It should be shown to Morris and Honker to see if it looks familiar. wink.gif

Notice the sagging buttocks and materialistic wrinkles on the shoulder... in all its glory.. wink.gif
