I hope this hasn't been posted already. Black Bear? The real deal?

Man was spotlighting rabbits on an abandoned road which led to an abandoned house. Man was using a handheld flashlight to spot rabbits about 10 pm. He hadn't shot at any rabbits and was walking the old road back to where his truck was parked. He had the flashlight off due to the moon being fairly bright and he could see enough to walk the road. He heard something moving alongside of him in the thick brush/briars. he would stop walking, the noise would stop. He shone the flashlight a couple of times and could not see anything due to it being night and the thickness of the brush. He picked up his pace and whatever it was kept up with him for about 150 yards until the man broke out into a sprint back to the truck.
I asked the man if it could have been a person following him. He said "Ain't no person could of kept up with me (he is 6'4" tall) in those briars".
I asked if it could have been an armadillo or another animal. He said "An armadillo don't stop when you stop and shine a light towards it and besides, I saw small trees movin as it moved.
How big were the trees that were moving? He said " About 10 to 15 foot tall"
I know this guy personally and he has hunted and fished ALL of his life in places that were sometimes off limits and usually way out in the wilderness. I talked to his mother and she said she remembered him coming over and he was pretty spooked about it, something that is uncharacteristic for him.
He also told me that he was telling a friend of his about the incident and his friend said the same thing happened to another guy they know, it occurred in the same area.

I have read similar reports before.
It seems that some sasquatches seem inquisitive.
I've also read several reports of hunters well armed running away, even dropping their rifles.
Most hunting rifles will drop anything short of a large grizzly bear. I'm sure the hunters can tell that its probably a pretty massive creature.

well, i get a few reports like that too, in fact i have experienced being paralled like that. about 25 years ago, i worked seismograph, and we were in north west louisiana. another girl and i were to clean up surveying flagging and cover shot holes for 2 miles through some pretty woodsy, some areas were swampy territory. we came to a private lake area, that had some folks staying in a cabin, the guy came out with a gun, thinkin maybe we escaped from a mental institution, because we forgot the garbage bags and had flagging of many colors tied on us. well, we explained what we were doing, and we carried on through the woods. we got a ways away from the cabin, and we both started hearing, snaps and steps. we thought maybe the guy at the cabin was following us, but as the brush got thicker, and the ground was mushy, and we had to follow a machete chopped trail, we were wondering how the heck he could be so quiet, without tripping and breaking more brush. we continued on, only armed with a hoe and shovel for covering the shot holes, still being followed. we finally came to a clearing on higher ground, to rest for a while, we were both a little freaked out, and saying well maybe the boss is watching us etc. well, we decided to keep going, or w would have to be there in the dark, and we had no idea how much further we had to go. we went into another patch of woods, with a trail chopped through it for the crew, the brush was a whole lot thicker and taller, and we were being followed again but seemed to be closer. we decided to go at a faster pace, because we kept hearing something breathing heavy, then we heard the horn of the truck honking for us, so we knew we were close, we basically said f##k the flagging, and started running. we got in veiw of the truck and the driver, he seemed to turn whaite as a ghost, and he was a dark skinned hispanic, and he yelled for us to run as fast as we could and don't look back, and i was behind, and it felt as though something was breathing down my neck, but i continued on, we both jumped the fence, thank goodness it was laid down some and only about 2 and a half foot high, the truck driver started up the truck and revved it and laid on the horn, and as we got in the truck, something big and tall was running back into the woods on 2 legs, and had brownish colord hair on it, we approximated it to be around 8 ft tall. we worked in that area for another 2 weeks, but i stuck close to the rest of the crew like glue, and i never did volunteer to clean up lines again, i was about 19 back then, and i wish i knew then what i know now. :willies: :willies:

Interesting...in both experiences.
These suothern BF's tend to be a bit more inquisitive and aggressive in nature

...or is it just me thinking this way.

Me and my father were followed as well. Its was night time and we were hiking down a trail when we started to hear something walking pretty heavy behind us. We quickend our pace and it quickend its pace. We stopped and it stopped. It was the strangest experiance I've every had. We thought someone was playing a trick on us but it was dark and we didn't want to take a chance on anything. So we kept walking. At one point it seemed like it had stopped following us. We got to the exit of the mountain and we heard vocalizations which I can only assume were toward us. Back then I though it was a bear, but fast forward to about three months ago when I stumbled upon a bigfoot site and got interested. Clicked on some Vocalizations and was stunned when I heard the exact same screams and howls as that very night. The strange thing is that it did not enter any wooded area because it pure mountain. Very little vegetation. It just kept a good distance enough of a distance that we couldn't see it.
