Jon emailed me the following images and explication. It's hard for me to see prints in two of them, but the third, I think, clearly shows some kind of imprint in very hard ground.

hope the photos my friend sent for me don't require too much work for you to use.....the file took a long time to be sent.....these were taken by me on 2/16/02 following a report of a sighting on 2/14/02.......the first photo is my leg and foot to the left of a faint 14 1/2 inch print....only a bit of the heel and toes marked on the hard ground....this animal was reported to be around 7 ft tall, black, 8 in long hair, heavy build.......the second photo is of a displaced 1 1/2 x my fist-sized rock which it stepped on and dislodged......the third is, apparently, the 16 1/2 inch print of a second animal ......this was not on the hillside but, rather, on the shoulder of the road and was likely made a couple of weeks previous to the sighting.......est. height 8 ft 3-6 in...possibly the male seen on Harshaw Road  near Patagonia several months previously...a short report is in Aug.2002  Bigfoot Co-Op Journal......

P.S. I have some photos of a cast owned by Ben Blake that I'll try to post today!

The ground looks awfully rocky and hard. Hard to find prints in that terrain.

What was the story behind the sighting?
jon a. larsen
the animal was seen by a fellow whom i know better than about anybody here in patagonia ...he wishes to remain anonymous....about 5 in the afternoon as he drove home from work in tucson.....it was running down the hill toward the highway(83)....he stopped and crossed the road to get a better view....the sasquatch was sitting on the hillside watching a group of mexican illegals below the road.....watched it for several minutes at a distance of no more than 75 yards....seemed to be curious about the mexicans........anonymous soon returned to his car and continued driving south.......

i think that the mexicans were very lucky.....that sasquatch running toward them could have had more on its mind than simple curiousity........

Jon, what's the landscape like around there? It looks pretty scrubby in the photo. Are there trees of any significance? I'm constantly amazed at the variety of environments these things are seen in...

Not to be too dense, but what do you think may have been on it's mind regarding the Mexicans? Perhaps the INS has enlisted local sasquatch to help defend the borders?? smile.gif

Thanks alot B. now I'm stuck with an image of a s'quatch in a Border Patrol uniform in my head. laugh.gif

No uniform, too big. Just a hat...and a badge. icon_razz.gif

a 20 ft tree right around there(mesquite) would be a big one.......it's called mountain grassland .....lots of desert plants too......very little rain....mesquite, cactus, cats claw.....lots of things to grab at your tender hide as you walk around.......the ground in feb. was really hard......had some rain a few weeks before or the not really decent print wouldn't have been there at all.......

this was just north of the highest point along the highway between sonoita and I-10....so SE of tucson......
RB
jon, were those prints near a roadway?...If so, did they cross the road or travel alongside the road?
jon a. larsen
the bigfoot was traveling south, parallel to and east of highway 83 75-100 yards from the road...the illegals had been coming northwest and then north the last 100 yards or so.....their trail followed the gully next to the road that last little bit......so, he was on the hillside...above them as they took a break.......

i never saw any evidence that he followed them after watching them under the tree.....the illegals tracks continued north next to the road....no running prints.....no blood, gore, mangled bodies or torn up clothes so i assume they just continued in their way.....

it was almost dark when i took the last photo.....good, old camera...

It sounds like it was curious to me about why these Mexicans were there.
Possibly wanted to make sure they were just passing through.

Find any new tracks lately, jon? cool.gif

Jon, got a thread going with some comments by George K. (over in chupacabra country in crypto) He was talking about 24 in footprints. I am still shocked by this and would like to know in your opinion how tall you think the maker of those might be and if you have seen anything like this or heard about it.
Thanks. I am curious to hear of what maybe J Meldrum mentioned to you as well, regarding size. Yeeps still having thoughts about this ph34r.gif ph34r.gif blink.gif icon_eek.gif

wellll......funny thing....the TYPICAL size track that i've seen over the years has been 22 to 24 inches.......an appropriate size for the typical adult male who is 10 to 12 feet tall...........don't know if jeff has seen very many of this normal size.....may have a cast or two......remember...most animals seen are immature males ...7 to 8 ft tall..............most tracks found by folks are therefore 14-16 in long.....
