there was a report in the texarkana newspaper last year, cant remember the date at the second, but three guys went out hunting /camping,well one of the guys of the party went out hog hunting alone, sulphur river or red river cant remember, the 2 guys that stayed behind heard their friend shoot 2 quick times then all was that, well after lots of time passed they wondered where their friend was as he had not shown back up to camp, well the yelled and went looking for him later on to avail....well to make a story short the comntacted local law enforcement and law enforcement contacted rescue squads from the areas, well the eventually found him,the area where he shot,he shot 2 rounds then became all of a sudden frantic(speculation accorrding to reports and dropped his gun and crossed a slough, whatever that means,i guess a small swamp body of water and was found dead in a boat on the other side of the slough, small body of swamp water in the boat, apparently dead of a heart attack>>>wonder what caused that within all the wisdom of sceptics out there a skunk??i dont think so,i believe he ran across this creature and shot twice then ran for his last moments of life,to the sceptics__"you can kiss my ass",you can say all you can to smear this fellows life all over your BS crap,i believe he ran into something that scared him to death..maybe one day the sceptics will run into something or "someone'that will make them wish to live or be scared to death,i believe its coming for the sceptics, they deserve same....

Do you know where we can find such a report!

Hey Craig,
remember hearing anything like this?

Belle

Belle,
I checked the archives of the Texarkana Gazette and could find no mention of an incident like this going back all the way to 2000. Of course, I may have not used the correct keyword to locate it. I suggest that you (or someone else with the time to do so) search the archives, or even contact the editor of the paper, to try to locate it. If it occurred only a few months ago, it might still be fresh on the mind of someone there.

Craig

As I stated in the previous thread where you brought up this story, I checked the archives of the Texarkana Gazette and could not find a similar story. Do you still have the copy of the article? You may in fact be the only member of the forum who regularly reads the Texarkana Gazette. Can YOU (rlbigfoothunter) find the article to post here for all to read?

Deputies find body of man who left camp to hog hunt

By JODI SHERIDAN
Texarkana Gazette

BOXELDER, Texas-A man was found dead in the woods on Sunday after being reported missing Saturday night but the cause of death is unknown still unknown, an official said.

Roy Patterson, 35, of Garland, Texas, was camping with two friends, Ken Murphy, 33, and Russell Elrod, 32, both of Garland, on the Sulphur River bottoms just south of her Saturday night when he decided to venture off shortly before dark to do some hog hunting, said Red River County Sheriff Jerry Conway.

Conway said Patterson's friends told police they heard two gunshots, which they said came from Patterson's firearm, and they didn't hear from him again.

"His camping buddies were trying to get him to come back, honking and hollering to get him back," said Conway.

After midnight that night, Conway said the friends called the police and several deputies were sent out to search in the thick brush for Patterson.

At the first sign of daylight, Conway said the volunteer fire departments from surrounding areas in the county started a search party, which included Telford Unit corrections officers on horseback and Red River County deputies in a helicopter borrowed from Bowie County.

"We are real glad they had a helicopter," said Conway.

About 1:30 p.m. Sunday, the helicopter spotted a body in the woods and alerted the officials on horseback, who determined it was Patterson.

Conway said they found his light, hat and gun and saw that he had gotten a boat and went across a slough. Conway estimated Patterson's body was found about five to seven miles from his campsite.

"It took an hour to get from where they were camped to where we found him," said Conway.

Conway said it didn't appear Patterson was shot. He said Patterson may have had a medical condition because he saw a medical I.D. bracelet on him.

Conway said Patterson's body was sent to Dallas for an autopsy to determine cause of death.

It looks like rlbigfoothunter may have left out a few details by accident or forgotten them as well as mixed some of them up. The story does not say that the gun, hat and light were found anywhere else in particular and stated simply that he had used a boat to cross a slough before ending up where he had. It also mentions he was wearing a medical ID tag, which is indicative of a health condition that could be life threatening. The fact they heard 2 shots, then nothing, could be that Patterson realized he was having a medical emergency, and attempted to alert his friends with the universal 3 shots into the air signal for trouble. Most likely he lost conciousness before he was able to fire the third shot.

Too bad we cant see the autopsy result! If the man did die from a medical condition, I'm sure the autopsy would find it!! blink.gif blink.gif

I dont see anything that would lead anyone to believe BF was involved

I sent an email to the reporter at the paper who wrote the story, and asked if anything else had ever been printed concerning the deceased. Hopefully, I'll get an answer which I'll share. smile.gif

There you have it. First the diplomatic assesment, then the frank one.

Well,id say its a speculation worth looking at,all the whoopla about talking about me,well ""They"know where they Can Go!!STH!orGTH,figure it out!!I know what im talking about, ive been to that area briefly and a hunch is a thing to think about...along with my very few encounters and finding such over my past years,i should think i should know more than the"Simple,Nobody,Researcher98.5%!"and the encompasses the majority "wannabe's"95%or better(i should say 98.5%of the wanna-be's)..Id like to be friendly and join forces with all that"really"involved mean"REALLY"APPLY ONLY!!Other than that,Nobody's,inquires need apply or imply,UNLESS YOURE OF A REAL "SANE"Personality,After 1975or after if you were a child/juvenile up to 18 yrs.olds not need apply.oh,by the way i can find out about you...Course there are others born before 1969 that know stuff about same, but i dont trust the younger generation of BS'ters after 1980,unless they can add substantial stuff, but i only trust the older generation...

Roy patterson, jeese!doesnt that mean anything to anyone that believes in "coincidences"??I personally thinks it means something, who knows coincidence, but that last name?jeese...who knows i might be rambling....but i know first upon reading the resport i felt something was "outa"place,it dont add up and in a area where this "thing"is known to be and written about, doesnt something make a lick of sense about a possibility, yes the guy may have died of a heart condition,But what really happened out there for him to fire 2 shots then resort to a boat across a slough!! you tell me the conspiracy theories!!!i wont say my experience into investigations, but id say its quite a bit over anybody, intuition and speculation say he encountered something that scared the shiite out of him....

Who would want to "be friendly" with an idiot that overtly threatens to pot shot at hairy things in the middle of the night?

Somehow I don't think that you will have to do much sceening of applicants.

All I've heard from your list of "substanial stuff" is endless rambling chant re: how you have been "gunna" kill something for any day now for several months now.

VOICES???well may be my voices will tell me to quit even worrying about who gets in the way and deal with whats becoming the obstacles.i have no voices and to be sympathetic to the out of ordinary less than normal IQ'S(less than normal types wishing to be humans),i say read your books and learn to read first, then learn how to be a normal human that has the will to express him/herself(likely herself, with the"other"than man"/types/sides/gays)online these days.Ill be the one to deal with what comes up and harshly if so.....

Given the running together of thoughts and statements, I would say that Schizophrenia is a fair bet. Possibly Bipolar.

Check your dosages, rl.

Martin, well said.

APT, I'm betting you're right.

rlbfh: Seriously, what are you, like 12? 13 maybe? Just a kid with nothing better to do than come in here and ramble incoherently about what you're gonna do when you grow up. You post inane babble (see everything above with your name on it) and wonder why NOBODY here takes you seriously. We dont have the time or the patience for idiotic kids who contribute nothing and who accomplish nothing except to make themselves look moronic, so why don't you do us all -- and yourself -- a big favor and go play frisbee or something.

rlbigfoothunter, I think you are taking this portion of the story too literally. You are looking at it as a timeline, like they were walking along searching, then found his light, then his hat, then his gun, then found the boat he crossed the slough with, and then his body. I think they are simply listing the things they found, with no mention of where they were found at, as well as it appeared a boat had been used by him to get to the side of the slough where he was found.

Using your method of logic, I think just about every report of anyone found dead would immediately become suspect of being the result of some paranormal involvement.

Considering the statements about being the one to bring BF in, being one of the best marksmen on the world, the general tone of superiority over others in the field, not to mention the apparent distrust of official agencies, Ithink you could tack the word "paranoid" onto schizophrenic.

RLB - I read your account of an encounter of sorts with a bigfoot and the death of your dog. You obviously had a strong emotional attachment to the dog and I sympathize with your grief but please explain what the BF did that created such a strong reaction of fear in you.

Seriously, what is the whole story?
wolftrax
rlbigfoothunter, I sympathize for your dog, but you can't place every incident to sasquatch without any proof, or even witnessing the event. For example, my car was vandalized this weekend, same with last weekend. The creature that did it kicked in the tail lights, should I assume it was sasquatch? My cat went missing a few years ago, I looked for him every day for a year, did sasquatch get him? I'm missing a backup CD for my computer, did sasquatch take it? Of course not. A human vandalized my car to take the tail lights, they did the same to a similar car in the neighborhood. My cat was in heat and went to find some action, someone probably took him in. I probably misplaced the CD. Your dog may have been attacked by any number of animals, was there any tracks? Fur? Any signs of struggle to indicate it's size? I'm going to read your posts to find your encounter, but if I can't I'd like to hear it, and why you hate sasquatch so much. But I am thinking by your experience with the loss of your dog and the style you use to write that you are Doc. Either way, your blatant disregard for life in general "I'll shoot anything" is indicative of some serious problems, but a great example for the Pro-kill side, you see, Pro-killers? This is where your stance lies, these are your supporters.

I concur, as well.

Oddly enough, you see this pattern in lots of other political and social issues.

As far as I can tell, the Texarkana thing is a whole bunch of nothin'.
