Yeti de Bourganeuf: this name has been applied to a large corps (2.63 meters), which was exhibited for a short time at a fair in Bourganeuf, France, in March of 1997. A small local magazine had published four photos of the corps (plate 24). The events which followed the publication of these photos, including the discrediting, appeared extremely “fishy.” The specimen in these four photos appear, to fit the description of a almasty, who may have very well have been killed right here in Europe. The yeti of the Himalayas has prolific facial hair like the north American troglodytes, whereas the almasty lack this facial hair, thus exposing their very human external morphology. Myself, and one of the most outstanding historical hominologists; Christain Le Noël, have investigated this affaire and found the discrediting to be pure fabrication. This is, in my opinion, the most relevant photo of a troglodyte to ever “over-come” the authorities, and reach the “public eye” as to the date of March, 1997

Looks like horsehide to me.
Seriously, I've seen this before & would have to say.... "HOAX!"
I've seen enough dead people and dead animals & this does not look "dead".

it does look sorta circumcised, or maybe it just has a funny wee wee.
The thing that makes me wonder is that its eyes seem to be intact (and, now that you mention it, it's penis seems to be in good shape).. is it supposed to be frozen? If not, wouldn't tissues like the eyes and penis rapidly shrink, and cease to look 'normal'?
I guess it could be frozen, but it doesn't look like it. IOW, it looks like an animal that is relatively 'fresh', yet that can't be possible if it was on display in a fair. Which makes it rather suspicious. If it were fake, however, that might be how the artisan would want it to look..
As a general comment, i have to wonder about all these 'sideshow freaks that could be cryptids': If you actually had your hands on a real troglodyte body, wouldn't it be a hell of a lot more profitable to sell it to some scientific organization rather than going on the sideshow circuit with it, collecting pocket change from kids? OTOH, it's not too hard to construct a decent looking (for sideshow purposes) dummy 'monster' for a few thousand dollars, and heck, you wouldn't even have to worry about keeping it refrigerated.
Using an actual dead hominoid as a side show attraction just doesn't seem like good business to me, and side show carneys are businesspeople, pure and simple.

Just wanted to add that if it _is_ fake, it's definitely one of the better ones i've seen, except for the legs which look oddly small... Unfortunately, it's hard to tell too much from the photo, and one can't be sure if the text accompanying the photo is even accurate.

It's difficult telling from the picture...
But don't penises (circumsized or not) usually accompany .. uhhhh... testicles?

It also looks kind of waxen, with fake hair....
and I don't think the whites of the eyes would be so "white."

But, but, but....I thought the cold was what caused the, um, um, 'shrinkage'.

I have some vague memory of having participated in a way too detailed genetalia discussion on the boards a few months back, but anyway...
the lack of testicles is not such a big deal.. they might be positioned differently, they might be very small, they might be hidden by the hair.. or perhaps the hoaxer forgot to add them. Hard (heh) to say.

Personally, I think its a hoax also, the veins and structure of the hands look pretty good but like was already mentioned, the eyes should have shrunken quite a bit and they should have a cloudy look to them, at least on animals i work on they shrink within 24 hours or so, we sometimes make "death masks" for reference and usually you must inject they eyes with water to plump them back up for good detail, and yeah it does look circumcised doesnt it lol, my 2 cents MM
