An interesting new sighting report on the BFRO.
In this very detailed report, the BF upon being almost face to face with the witness leans down and splashes water at him. What was it doing I wonder?

I've seen thousands of kids do that in swimming pools. Instinct? Learned behaviour?

probly either playing with him or that was a threat " Get outta here"

Hmmm... Never heard of that.

Maybe it's that ornery Fouke Monster at it again. biggrin.gif

Perhaps the BF was trying to cleanse the offensive "stench" from the human. They may look upon the artificial odor of Old Spice and Right Guard the same way we do the natural odor of BF. However, my bet is on a subtle message, such as,
"GO", "GET OUTTA HERE" or "LEAVE NOW." Heck, it would work for me!

I have to agree with Squatchwatch.

I think it must have been trying to scare him off. I really can't think of anything else it might be doing. Maybe they don't see us around the water alot so they think we don't like it. Or when we are in the water it is in waders or boats. huh.gif

if an animal that you weren't sure about was in front of you. you my do anything to turn it around and make it leave. throw rocks, sticks, water or just scream and wave your arms. maybe something like that. smile.gif

The witness felt that the dogs may have saved his life, but I told him that based on reports that I've investigated and others that I've read or heard about, his dogs may have been killed had they been free to attack.

Wow! How true... Another report to add to the Dog vs. BF thread…

As bad as I want to see one of these things, I'd rather not have been in this guy’s position, same location, same time of night, alone...no dogs to keep me company. icon_eek.gif

Of course I'd have to make an addition to this fantasy by adding a handy 50. cal. tucked neatly underneath my arm (who's stalking who now, stinky...go ahead, just one more drop of water in my direct and I'll...). cool.gif It would be at this point I'd seriously have to reconsider my thoughts on not dropping one of these creatures for the sake of solving the mystery. new_guitar.gif
