Sorry Arky I know you said not to but I just can't help it.why do you think mating season is in the winter?my theory was if they had a season for it it would be in the fall months ,assuming their gestational period was anything like ours,so the babies would be born in the spring to take advantage of the upcoming food and weather of springtime.of course that may also be from my being up north for so many years as opposed to now being in the south where the climate and food supply isn't so seasonally dependent.just a thought.

In Texas, we have only two seasons: Summer and Hell. And global warming has made it even more hellacious! As for when BF mate, I wouldn't know, but the Southern furballs, as you say, would certainly have a wider selection! laugh.gif biggrin.gif icon_razz.gif

Hey I said "Don't ask"!!! icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif

See, what she doesn't want to say here is that a bigfoot once made some unwanted advances and gave her a 'bad touch'.

Remember this story? Yep, that was Arkansan! Keep it under your hat, though. She's still a little sensitive about it...
Arkansan
Ahhh man, Bipto! How did you find me out??? icon_razz.gif laugh.gif icon_razz.gif laugh.gif

O.K. bipto that should have been posted on the " fear factor " thread, cause now I'm really scared.not of BF but of the person who could come up with that story.

I knew I was in trouble if I visited this one....
Theories

a.) Bipto is a scary person
b.) Bigfoots aren't real so therefore they dont mate
c.) Being asexual they all have to be clones
c.) but since they are not real, this is all just make believe anyway.
d.) So since its all just a large scale hoax that was put together by some dudes in the beginning, here is my take : It began back in the 1700's cause they were mad at a couple of Indian dudes who
scared em by putting on giant bear hair costumes and left giant footprints in the ground near their camp while being shot at and going through the dude's belongings... you see it all stems around underwear... or lack thereof.

That is what started it all off.. and presently the competition has moved to
tennis shoes and sunglasses... note the advertisements. And now... you know the rest of the story. Except for a state by state analysis of this behavior which still persists in many odd forms.
Promoted by college students out to "mess" with people for personal entertainment, we have the makings of the greatest hoax in the history of the United States. You see, the latest poll indicates that 50 percent of all Americans or MORE believe that there is NO sasquatch to perpetuate our
present known biological evidence, however secondary.
SO... that means that the underwear theory is true.

Awwright, where is the next thread ?? This is SOOOO 'easy.

Jim, haven't you learned by now when someone says "Don't ask" to just not ask?? Now see what you caused! LOL

No really I don't have an actual theory on bigfoot mating season. My remark on the "another bfro keeper, sighting" thread was meant to be a joke. laugh.gif
My theory is it gets awfully cold in the winter time and a little snuggling might help warm 'em up....LOL

See, I told ya not to ask! laugh.gif icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif

OK, I guess I should apologize

Here is another interupted comment from me :

If these are similar to great apes and other primates (like us)
It might be that they have a similar gestation period.
IF that is true, we would be looking at somewhere in that 9 month
period.
So from a biological standpoing at least in the north where there is significant weather problems you would think perhaps the young would be targeted when the weather provided more food and comfort.
On the other hand look at some other wild creatures
Great horned owls lay eggs during snow
Bears have cubs with the mother when she is in her torpid sleep
during winter
so perhaps squatch is similar to that...
did that help Ark ? (I am a little embarrassed now by my shenanigans)
Do we really know when the YOUNG are born ?
If we cant verify the species I suspect not.
But there are reports of little ones and sasquatches holding them at different times of the year. That could be a focus
maybe it would shed light on the question.
