I'm so glad I bought it. THis DVD is worth EVERY penny! It is the best thing I've seen in years. Totally professional and credible. Absolutely looks at Sasquatch from a purely scientific view and comes through with flying colors. You ALL need to see this film. It is a MUST for those curios or even scepticle off Bigfoot. Hats off to all those involved in this film. I will watch it for hours to come in the future. I am so stoked right now! This was a rare treat!!!!!!!!!

What did you think of the memorial day footage? In my opinion it looks like it's carrying something in it's right arm like a football.
I don't think it's carrying a football, where's the line? where's the qb, where's the defense?,

, but just carrying something in the way you would run with a football.
It also seems as if the left arm is used a lot more for the running motion than the right, as would be the case if you're running with something heavier in 1 arm.
The smaller object seems to be darker brown than the creature.
It's also a possible reason that it doesn't move faster than it does, if it had to be more careful with an infant.

Glad you liked it. Watch for LMS II and I hope everyone will also like the Willow Creek Bigfoot Symposium DVD set which I am working feverishly on to complete by the end of next month. You will be able to see some of the same people in LMS I but in real-time, unscripted (not that LMS was scripted), and with a whole lot more to say and show.

The S:LMS DVD is well worth the money, and I can't wait for S:LMSII !!
My only critiscim of S:LMS is the skelatal reconstruction of patty - I think Doug did a much better explanation of the workings of the skelatal reconstruction at the willow creek symposium than was presented on the documentary.
Would have been nice I guess to have had the money to get a more professional reconstruction done, but it really wasn't too bad considering.
Can we expect to see something on the skookum cast in the next documentary - I for one would like the 'elk' comparison from the symposium shown on TV.

Jan 14 2004, 07:30 AM
I'd like more on the Skookum cast too...a much more close-up view, with the landmarks individually pointed out. For the life of me, even with the shapes of the landmarks outlined the way they've done it on BFRO's website, the only thing I can make out for sure when I look at it is the heel/Achilles. I think it's just because the pictures are small and it's hard to see much contrast between the "ground" and "body part" areas, so I think getting good, closeup camera shots (video, as opposed to stills) with someone pointing out various suspected parts would really be helpful.
I can't wait for LMS II either!!!

Etheral,
You in Canada too? It's not the shipping that bugs me so much is the crappy exchange rate and possible customs fees.

Let's see...30 + 10.50 = 40.50 x 1.3 for exchange = 52.65 + 7% GST = 56.34 Canadian dollars. ugh.

shipping AND handling. you know how much it costs to put that little DVD into a package, right? very labor intensive. the shipping is probably less than $2 bucks, but i bet it costs them $40 an hour to get those DVDs from one package to another.

You think thats bad - they charge $20 to ship to the UK.
When Bipto sends me a video cassette (as he often does, bless him), it only costs him just $1.85 in postage.
That means BFRO are using envelopes that cost $18.15 !!!!!!

Why don't they just be honest about it and state, UP FRONT, that the DVD is $38, and $2.45 to ship.....instead of $29.95, and $10.50 to ship.??????
At least they'd be honest about how much the &*%$*% thing costs without laying the blame on the post office!!

You know, if you don't want to pay the price, you can always take your chances that you will find a used copy on ebay or somewhere. Facts are that the BFRO is the only place you can get a new, unused copy. They are the ones who did the project, and that's just the way it is. In my opinion, which I'm sure nobody actually gives a sh*t about, the DVD is worth EVERY penny it cost to get it to me. Nothing that's been done before comes close to comparing to it's quality and the information it supplies.
Have at it.
StacyInMI
Jan 16 2004, 11:44 AM
Agreed Jaylee, plus I look at it this way: This DVD is destined to be a "classic" in the realm of Sasquatch-related media. Look at the prices people are paying for some of the older books, especially John Green's. Twenty years from now, people will probably bidding up close to $200 for this on eBay! NOT that I'd ever consider selling, mind you

, but this might help to put it in perspective and help justify the cost of grabbing a copy now, while one still can. For me, it was very well worth it.

There's a bit more info on the Freeman and Memorial Day footages plus the skeletal walking segment is much more detailed. But the main thing is just getting to have it.
Is it worth the money? As always, caveat emptor.

(Which reminds me that I'm going to have to kill my little brother if he doesn't return my copy very soon.)

The best thing about the DVD version of Legend Meets Science is the Patterson/ Gimlin footage - as complete and clear as can be seen with today's technology... slow motion loops, zoom footage. I can't wait to someday watch the DVD on High Defintion TV.

On a side note...
I received my credit card statement the other day and had this weird charge for Metro Moulded Parts in Coon Rapids MN for $35.45.
I called my credit card company and they said that was an auto parts and accessories business. Well, I haven't bought any auto parts from Minnesota, so I put the charge in dispute.
I got online and found the number for the company. They specialize in weatherstripping and rubber car parts (hoses, gaskets).
I gave them a call, got transferred and had to tell my story a couple of times.
The third person I spoke to said, "How much was the charge?"
"$35.45"
"Did you purchase a Sasquatch DVD?"
You could have knocked me over with a feather. That was the last thing I was expecting to hear from an autoparts distributor.
Apparently, their company is the distributor for Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science. I have no idea why. But, the lady I talked to sounded like she had gotten a fair number of calls regarding unusual credit card charges.

BFRO's site says they ship UPS. You get what you pay for, BFRO is not spiking the cost and attributing it to shipping, it actually does cost around 10 bucks to ship something of that size by UPS ground. At least you get tracking and good service.

I once received a 3.5 inch floppy disk from Hewlett-Packard that was absurdly packed into a one-cubic-foot box, with lots of packing peanuts, too! It's crazy--it's symbolic of how people and institutions adopt a one-size-fits-all formula for interacting with others and solving problems, just because mechanically applying the formula requires less mental stress on their part; they don't have to have to think about individual cases, just apply their rubber stamp.
One simple way to improve the world would be for the gov't to require that the software companies that supply warehouse-management programs to industry add a module that figures out the smallest size box to use for the contents being shipped (to minimize material waste and production of garbage (packing materials)). Here's a reasonable measure to improve the environment (and save industry money into the bargain). I wonder why the enviro-nuts haven't suggested something like this? (Maybe I've already supplied the reason.)
As far as shipping DVDs goes, they weigh only a few ounces, and could be shipped by 1st class mail for $1; the cost of labor & material for the package should likewise be only $1. I guess the drawback is that some mail deliverers will try to bend such a package to fit inside a cramped urban mailbox, rather than attempt to hand-deliver it to the addressee, which would then ruin the DVD. Oh well.
