Mike I
I started into the research into BF a few years ago. At first I devoted some time here and there for it. A friend gave me a book, "Apes Among Us" by John Green. This book actually made me want to know more about the subject. I started reading some books about primate behavior and list of other stuff that would be hard to list here. Most of what I have done is reading accounts and talking to people. I have gone out a few times when someone has claimed of a sighting. I have been working on a historical timeline of sightings here in Ohio.

Now what is bothering me here lately is the people who are making these claims of amazing powers of Bigfoot. UFO's, mind reading, dematerialization, shift changer, and on and on. My god, what the heck is wrong with these people?

From my personal research into this I feel that Bigfoot is a manlike primate that could very well be related to us in some way. I have respect for Bigfoot for being able to stay hidden from us this long. I feel that in a matter of time we will see proof positive of the existence of Bigfoot.

I think these people do taint the true and positive research onto this subject. They seem to feel that when someone questions them then that person is a non-believer. I would rather like to see solid evidence not some fuzzy photo of ground cover. If someone questions me on my research I willing to show them my evidence and material. I am not going to do a song and dance saying well you are not a believer. I rather have someone tell me the way I am going is not right. How else are you going to know if you are right or wrong?

I rather see good, honest, and positive research than the garbage that they people are trying to pass off as "real" research.

Excuse me while I put on my tin foil beanie cap....

new_blushsmiley.gif Thanks for pointing that out Fishbone35, Paul Green was a author of a local play "Trumpet in the Land". I always get them guys mixed up.. new_blushsmiley.gif

You're preaching to the choir brutha' but...preach on! thumbup.gif

(By the way, that's John Green, not Paul.)

I agree.

The UFO/bigfoot correlation people's theories are so rediculous and laughable, that they make the ~entire~ bigfoot investigation look foolish to many outsiders who are wondering about whether its credible or not.
bipto
I knew a guy once who was really into UFOs. Scary into UFOs. Anyway, he told me that bigfoot was of alien origin for any number of reasons I've moved out of my head to make room for even more useless information. It seems to me those who link bigfoot with UFOs are more likely UFO people than bigfoot people. Just a hunch.
Quake
Maybe the correlation comes from seeing how great of a starship pilot that Chewbacca was in Star Wars....... So they assume that bigfoot, being covered in hair, also, must ALSO be a great starship pilot from another galaxy.... blink.gif
bipto
I had not thought of that. Hmmmmmm.
MountainLady
I had always wondered if Chewbacca was supposed to be a BF. laugh.gif

I knew a guy once that didn't believe dinosaurs ever walked on planet earth. When I questioned how he supposed their fossils got here, he replied that they were from another planet that exploded millions of years ago and their bones fell to the earth.. hmmmm....

Who knows what some folks are going to come up with next.

A Sasquatch is (to me) flesh and blood.. and very intelligent sleep.gif

On the new Indiana Jones DVD set, Lucas says his dog, named Indiana, was the inspiration for Chewbacca.

Another useless bit of info from your truly.

And, water, don't forget the water.

Water and Composition of Human Body:

* 2/3 of the body weight is water.
* Brain is 75% water and even moderate dehydration or lack of water can cause
headaches and dizziness.
* Heart is 75% water
* Muscles are almost 75% water
* Bones are 22% water.
* Lungs are 86% water.
* Liver is 96% water.
* Kidneys are 83% water.
* Blood is 83% water.

I would imagine that this holds true for primates as well as other hominids, past and present. So, a 1,500 lb full-grown male Squatch would translate to 1,000 lbs of water. And 1,000 lbs of water would equal a little over 120 gallons, at 8.33 lbs per gallon.
Moral to all this: If a full-grown male Squatch is running full speed down the trail that you are on, quickly step out of his way... wink.gif

You know...I love all of it...Ghost Stories, UfO Stories..anything that is a mystery I love. Mostly because sometimes humans think we know it all....and ya know what...
we don't. Every time something weird happens that no one can explain...I just smile. Because..."There Are More Things In Heaven And Earth,Horatio,Than Are Dreamt Of In Your Philosophy." to quote Hamlet.

Then I just saw this story icon_surprised.gif

Australian astronomers identify possible cradle of alien life
Fri Jan 2, 2:03 AM ET Add Top Stories - AFP to My Yahoo!

SYDNEY, (AFP) - Australian astronomers say have pinpointed an area of the Milky Way that is most likely to support alien life.

"Our Milky Way galaxy is home to hundreds of billions of stars, but until recently astronomers could only guess as to how many are hospitable for the development of complex life," Charles Lineweaver, from University of New South Wales, said in a statement.

"What we have done for the first time is to quantify carefully where complex life is likely to exist."

Lineweaver and Swinburne University of Technology colleagues Yeshe Fenner and Brad Gibson, in a paper published in the journal "Science", say hundreds of stars capable of supporting life are visible from Earth by the naked eye.

"A few billion stars out there sit in what we call the Galactic Habitable Zone where they have the appropriate conditions to support complex life," Gibson said.

"Many, many hundreds of those stars which you could look up and see with the naked eye, most of which are actually very close, would potentially have terrestrial planets similar to the earth and Mars and Venus."

Gibson said the habitable zone appeared about eight billion years ago but had since accumulated heavy elements like carbon, oxygen and iron.

"Perhaps there's no life out there," Lineweaver said. "But if there is life, we've determined where you are most likely to find it."

I would never discount anyone's experiences. I have never seen a ghost, but know people who have. I have never seen a UFO, but know people who have. I have never seen a Bigfoot...but some of you have. I think there are more things that we don't know about the universe than we know.

I was thinking...if you were to take an ordinary flashlight back through time to say the 16th century...you turn that puppy on...and people would look at you as if you were a witch or a warlock or whatever and you'd be imprisoned or burned at the stake. What we take for granted now as common knowledge wasn't always so common...same for our future....dang...I wish I could be around in another 300 or 400 years to see what else we didn't know..hehehe..anyone know any vampires??? Oh wait...they don't exist....I know that!! I know that!!! biggrin.gif

I am amazed at the level people have come to give Bigfoot a mystical status. I think it is something inside of us that wants to put mystical qualities to something we do not understand or fear.

I have come across some sites that claim it talks in a Indian language and they have tapes to prove it. blink.gif I came across a Ohio site and was getting really interested until I looked at the links. new_weirdsmiley.gif It seems they have direct links to two of the most infamous researchers around. Now I am not going bash or belittle anyone because of what or how they believe.

I think through some good old fashion research and proper scientific protocol will we finally understand Bigfoot. Making wild and bizare statements that I read on some sites is just not going to cut it. I hope these people are ready for the bubble burst when what they have been saying proves to be false. icon_stressed.gif

I think this Forum provides a good honest place to talk about the research that is going on. There are some really good ideas and theories presented here that can spark the imagination or something someone has been thinking about. Plus, I think with the open discussions here the off the wall stuff will be debunked.

This Forum and some off the people here have helped me rethink what direction I want to take my research and how I will share it.

well we know bigfoot is flesh and blood and for alot of us who have had encounters with bigfoot and gone into research and had more encounters with them i think we have all had strange things happen that do not make since, Do bigfoots have unknown powers so to say, i know damn well they posses abititys we do not have, does that make it ufo related or paranormal, not really, just something beyond our understanding of them right now. If this was just a monkey running around you know that the mystery would have been solved by now. Closed minds towards the subject will get you know where, all encounters need to be heard. There must be something to learn from each of the encounters. The reall problem is there is only a hand full of people out there that really spend a good amount of time in field and i gurentee you that all of us have had something unexplained happen when it comes to bigfoot. Im to the point where im not going to fight the strange anymore, it happens so i must deal with it.

The main things that I have found that debunks the Bigfoot/UFO idea is that there is no way an 8 foot animal with the bulk of a sasquatch can fit in the cockpit of one of those little spaceships....Not to mention the trouble it'd have getting the seatbelt around his massive gut.

There is also no way a big fat finger like these animals apparently have could precisely punch the various little buttons on the instrument panel of a alien ship, IF they were to ever fit into the cockpit, that is...

And if, by some chance, he WERE to get in the cockpit, and punch the buttons, their head is also too huge to wear those dainty little headphones, so how are they supposed to get flight instructions from the alien terminal?

I am not buying this whole Bigfoot/UFO thing, at all....
bipto
No that's thinking!

what i dont get about bigfoot/ufo conection is why would alien be running around in the woods hiding from us, i figure they would mingle or take on hte identity of a proctoligist icon_eek.gif

thats true, but lets not forget that we're all made of what? molecules? atoms? (forgive me, it's been so long since i took a chemistry class) and the spaces inbetween the atoms is ether...or so i've read...anyway, there's more ether in our bodies than even water...so just maybe.....maybe they can manipulate the ether?

but dont get me wrong because i'm NOT advocating for the supernatural powers of sasquatch. i dont believe that. but anything is possible. i'm open to all ideas, color me gullible. you're not surprised, right?

who still believes they're flesh and blood
