The LMS documentary is fairly up-to-date, i think, at least in terms of what is publicly known about BF. The Memorial Day footage is still 'inconclusive'. It _could_ be a human, it _could_ be a Bigfoot. Personally, i think it is real, if only because if it was faked, why make it confusing by having the figure get taller after it passes the hillock? And why make your guy in the suit run over such difficult terrain?
The Freeman footage (i guess that's the footage you're thinking of) is also 'inconclusive'. It certainly appears to show a rather massive, hairy figure, but little detail is there. Paul Freeman is a controversial figure. He was certainly involved in some legitimate research, and made huge sacrifices in terms of his career to pursue the creature. However, many have dismissed his later findings as hoaxes, though i have never heard a clear explanation why. I think it might be the tendency of some to automatically assume that any inconclusive photo or film is a deliberate hoax, rather than a blurry or low-res picture of something real. We may never know about Freeman and his film and photos, and that is pretty much where it will stand forever, i think.
Ivan Marx is another figure a bit like Freeman, in that he was involved in genuine research but seems to have been mixed up in hoaxing as well, but i think his reputation is quite a bit worse than Freeman's, and he produced some obviously faked material. That's about all i know about him.
Coleman is usually regarded as 'ok', but slightly kooky. He seems to have a tendency to get carried away by speculation based on the slimmest of evidence, but his stuff is still interesting to read.
I would strongly recommend you pick up a copy of Grover Krantz's 'Bigfoot Sasquatch Evidence' (here's a link:
