With many sides to the debate of what will come from the discovery of Bigfoot in North America or anywhere else for that matter I wonder what will be gained from it. Could be a big "In your face to the skeptics",preservation of the species,or on a more personal level validity to those who have encountered BF that they in fact are not nuts ! What is everyones opinion! I personally throw the old preservation of the species bit right out the window for the simple facts that the powers that be who will be responsible for said "preservation" ie,the government have enough blunders...historically and the fact that the species if it does in fact exist seems to be doing a damn good job of self preservation by avoiding humans... THOUGHTS ????

A few lawyers get very rich on a contingency fee basis handling Sasquatch land claims.

In my opinion:
On a scientific level it would be the most important anthropological discovery ever...assuming it's more closely related to us than any other living primate.

I would think that what ever would be achieved from the discovery of BF would depend on what we discovered BF to be.

Agreed...

On a cynical note, what's the betting that the "specimen" gets all of it's genes patented before officially being declared "human" or homo krantzii or something close.

Hey, that's an idea, I just need a few dozen playboys, a few dozen fleshlights (If you don't know, don't ask) a turkey baster and a willing female accomplice ... ... ... whistling.gif

I could see the whole war of the worlds thing happeneing. When it comes out that you may never have seen a BF, but they surely have seen you. When the numbers of the population are tallied and it is figured that they are all over the continient let alone the USA. Yeah there was no reason to pannick yesterday, but today it is proven and it is real and I am gonna buy a gun and protect my family. Heaven forbid the UPS guy walks up a driveway......Kablam. Hey he was two legged and brown. I thought it was a BF.

Besides the fact that they are everywhere......they have done a great job of keeping themselves alive and well for many many eons, maybe since the dawn of time.

There is already law and ordinance on the books that could and likey would be used against anyone that tried to hunt a BF. Like hunting without a liscense. Or the animals in the wild belong to the government entity that oversees the land. Wilderness areas that are closed to development of roads. No night time visits to this area or that area even though it is public land. I could go on and on. The government already protects Bigfoot.

And because of the war of the worlds concept of panick they protect us too. There is no giant ape out in the woods and if you are talking about the 9 foot tall hairy biped that just ran past the window I do not know what you are talking about I did not see it, I didn't see anything. There is no Great American human related ape.
