For you who are following the Biscardi trail of mishaps, you might like looking at this blog post I wrote yesterday about JavaBob's new book. I included a bit of previously unpublished information about my experience with that group.

The posting includes a video of JavaBob talking about his book during a book signing on September 19, 2009 at the Bigfoot Discovery Museum in Felton, CA. Michael Rugg gave him a chance to talk about his book there... I thought that was equitable and magnanimous of him.

What I found most interesting about JavaBob's interview by Mike was his relating of the story of the two USFS employees having their encounter. Since Happy Camp is in Siskiyou county I'm going to assume their sighting was there also. There is no BFRO report that appears to correspond with Bobs description of that incident so it just makes me (again) wonder how many encounters go unreported. Two USFS employees having an encounter would go pretty far in validating the existence of BF and would quite possibly gain media attention.

It's just too bad that JavaBob had to get himself aligned with "the great rectal orifice" of Bigfooting.

By the way LindaJM, love your blog, Norcal

I've been getting copies of his "Newsletter" every month, and still can't figure how he got my e-mail address. Has anyone else seen Javabob's "newsletter"?

I get it, and like you, don't know how he got my email address, but I've not read it.

There's a site for his newsletter. He's supposed to have a link at the bottom for unsubscribing. I've never received the newsletter and didn't subscribe because I didn't see much Bigfoot content.

Here's that site: http://footprintsinyourmind.webs.com/

Norcal Logger, thanks for the blog compliment! flowers02.gif

The reason the sighting wasn't reported to BFRO was that the two women who had that sighting were adamant about privacy. They wouldn't even talk to me about it. They would only talk to Bob and Tom B. To this day I still see one of them in town and she denies any Bigfoot knowledge - she apparently doesn't know that I know she was one of the women involved.

The other one went off on me after I asked her about it, right after it happened. I was surprised because I'd known her from Chamber of Commerce meetings for several years, and respected her. But she didn't want anyone to know she was the one who had the sighting, and I was the town news reporter at the time so maybe she thought I might reveal her name. Of course, I wouldn't -- I do respect privacy... I just wanted some first-person comments on what had happened. Didn't get them. She's now moved out of town.

When it happened JavaBob didn't tell me... he just called Tom B.... then he drove up from the Bay Area and they did their site inspection... and after all that they told me. That's what I meant by being left out by "the boys"... Well, I'm still here and they're long gone, and to be honest, there are still sightings here that I don't get told about. It is a small town and people have their petty resentments and gossip, and all that. So if they don't inform me I pretty much don't worry about it any more... I just keep going and do something on my own (squatching, writing, etc.)..

I just finished reading the book and found it worth the read. I have no respect for TB. Not that I don't like him, heck I don't even know the guy, it's just that he lets his passion interfere with his common sense. I'm sure that we all do that in some respect but there is little room for it in a controversial subject. I enjoyed seeing how the SFB team traveled and what there life is like. At the end of the day I found them amusing and naive.
