The Punisher

"The Telemetro website said some speculation had suggested it was a creature from another planet."
Preposterous. There is no way that creature could drive a spaceship or perform anal probes with those hooked claws.

That photo is more disturbing than our deteriorating raccoon.
But ... either Panama has a new species of cave sloth, or this is another water logged carcass which we cannot see in it's entirety. I vote sloth carcass.
Or ... a baby homo subteraneus from "The Descent". Or ... the thing from "Eraserhead"
Nice find, Punisher.

We really can't verify anything based on a 'dead creature' (in a picture). There have been too many odd costumes made in the last few years. This could be a
Lord of the Rings type character, something from Stan Winston's studios, with fur removed above the waist. (LotR was probably mostly CGI, but you get my drift).

So thats that a dead sloth looks like with no hair. Interesting photo though.

Striking image.... but clearly a sloth (if real, which I see little reason to doubt). Another example of selective photography (or publication of) because surely better pics of the feet/claws give it away.

A dead sloth that had mange maybe?? Don't sloths have big bodies and small heads like that one in the pic?

Well, it's obvious to me it's a 3 toed Mars creature whose flying saucer wrecked here on Earth. Its nifty ray gun misfired and a bunch of emo teens were on it faster than MM on a KFC.
Yes, I'm kidding. Poor waterlogged sloth that washed up is my vote.
I wish they'd give those saucers a tune up and check the carburetors before taking off.

It's a dead sloth you can see it's clawed appendage. I was stationed in Panama '95-98 and remember early one morning having to stop and literally pick one of these things up and take it to the side it was trying to get to because it was in the middle of the road.. We were late for a fishing tournament..

It's clearly a sloth. I know becasue I used to proudly own one.
Here is a picture of me with my long lost three toed sloth.....Maybel

It's sad, because I can still vividly remember the last time we were together before she disappeared....walking together along a rocky beach near Mantauk.....it was a nice sunny day......waitaminute.........MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYBEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLL!

If that pic was taken down in Panama, isn't that in South America somewhere? If so, wouldn't sloths be native to there anyways??

That story is messed up. Either the kids are lying or they beat a sloth to death. Beating to death aside (which I hope is not the case)....If you asked me what one animal should NEVER be approached or disturbed by humans.... I would say the sloth. If you are curious, be curious from afar. Zoo keepers and nature show hosts that handle these creatures are stressing it out. I get mad when I see that on TV. No matter what lesson they wish to teach to their audience about the sloth, they are completely missing the most important lesson. Forcing them to react in our speed of time (which they can do) can take a terrible toll on it's cardiovascular, endocrine and nervous systems. If you don't give it a heart attack, adrenal fatigue for this animal can compromise it's immune functions.
