I had walk with a yeti on holiday
A HOLIDAYMAKER is believed to have captured footage of a YETI.
Piotr Kowalski, 27, filmed the "monstrous, hairy creature" while walking in Poland's Tatra Mountains.
The figure ran into his view as he videoed a mountain goat in an area rich in rumours of a Yeti for centuries.
Mr Kowalski, on holiday from Warsaw, said: "I saw this huge ape-like form hiding behind the rocks. When I saw it, it was like being struck by a thunderbolt.
"I never really believed the local stories of a wild mountain ape-man. But now I do."
The Nautilus Foundation, which probes unexplained phenomena from its base in Warsaw, now has the film.
President Robert Bernatowicz said: "It shows something that moves on two legs and is bigger than a normal man - but because the camera shakes so much it is difficult to say what it is.
"We need to go to the site and see what traces, if any, are left."

Shaky camera footage...excellent...soon to be known as the PK footage.
Interesting story, thanks for posting username taken.
I wonder if Piotr Kowalski is any relation to Walter "Killer" Kowalski?

Thanks for that, 'username taken'. The photo being so grainy, its veracity is virtually impossible; but Poland's Tatra mountain region would appear to provide an interesting prospect for a relict population of marginalized proto-hominids. Throughout Europe today there continue to be occasional stories of bipedal cryptids just as there have been thousands of reports historically. Ivan T Sanderson (may the creator rest his soul!) would love this news item considering the fact that he devoted so much of his energies to exposing the fact and banishing the myth of surviving proto-hominids on a worldwide basis. While it is a cool story, I won't hold my breath for further news (although I might hold out a little secret hope).

It could prove to be interesting, although the pic is hard to decipher. The arms on the creature do look long and to the knees though. Hopefully something becomes of this that's interesting and new.

I saw this thread topic and asked myself, "Polish Yeti? Now how the hell is someone going to get close enough to actually polish him?"
And, isn't that getting mighty personal? Sheesh, I just met this Yeti.

First thing I thought of when I saw the name of the thread? A Polish Yeti? Would that be an Ewok?
And dont get all offended anyone, I'm part Polish (explains alot dont it).

As I think Paul1968UK said before it's silly season here in the UK, and 'The Sun' is a tabloid. I think I'll take this one with a healthy dose of salt until further info comes out on it.

On a holiday which I took in Poland many years ago, my hotel-room lock and key were on the Yale principle; which in Poland was apparently, at least sometimes, known as "Yeti". My key bore that word (spelt exactly thus), and a little embossed silhouette plainly meant to represent a bulky, massively-built biped. "Closer to home" than was realised, maybe?

There are many sightings of BFs in eastern Europe's mountains which I have read about.
If this article appeared in a Polish tabloid paper, then .......................well...............uh.............

I blogged it -
The Polish Yeti. My boyfriend / research partner speaks fluent Polish and was able to understand the whole commentary which was nothing but things like "Look at that," "I can't see it," and cursing.

After looking at the video a couple more times, I tend to agree with you, TKD. It moves like a man and the arms aren't as long as I'd expect Sasquatch arms to be.

Woodewasa...european wild man.
I have a polish friend who went in Tatra mountains (a beautiful place indeed) and told me that he heard some strange vocalisations from an unknown animal, and he was a little scare. But he could not see which animal produced them.
Greetings.

Finally watched the "Polish" yeti video.
The proportions dont look right to me and the critter does not seem to move correctly.
Same opinion some of you have put out there.
Do we have any data on european BF proportions in comparison to western or eastern american ones?

I'm no expert at handling a video camera, but did this guy do the camera work for "Cloverfield"?
From the weighty depths of my armchair position, I think it's a guy in a suit.

Yep, Serious, must be me looked like they panned from the original Yeti to a second one? or maybe it was just an edit job? For what it's worth the object moved very much like a human IMHO...It's also interesting that you can hear the one guy say "creature" quick slip into english or possibly just a cognate?

IDK, but it looks like it is walking rather gingerly. I would think that an animal/squatch etc that lived in this environment all its life would move more fluidly. It kinda looks to me like a guy in a suit swaying back and forth to watch (for stones in the path) through the misplaced eye-slits. It would suck to hurt your feet or fall clumsily over while your friend is trying to get the perfect blurred/shaky shot of you.

I went back and looked at it again, do the forearms look like they are too long? Like maybe extensions? at one point there is a clear view of the upper arm and it looks awfully short compared to the forearm... or is it just me?
