This time you can really hear it. What do you think, did a group of hikers responed to Ed's tree knocking? The response starts around 03:20 on the clip.
thephaige
Its interesting...but to say there is no one else out there is kind of presumptuous. I mean aren't they...out there? Just sayin' ...but its still intriguing and enjoyable to follow.
These guys might be close to a breakthrough...if not its still cool to see this grass roots effort.

LOL! yeah your right bro...I meant as compared to say the work of Dr Meldrum and many others who may have a degree of funding.
These recent You Tubers are enthusiasts like many of us and I am enjoying living vicariously through some of them. smile.gif

I posted this in another thread about thefirstbillyjack, and I think they are really interesting videos.. The knocking actually starts first and than he responds back to the knocks and than the knocking continues..

I'm actually listening to an interesting interview with thefirstbillyjack on the bigfoot busters show (with tcsjrbigfoot) where he discusses the tree knocking incident.. here is the link if you would like to check it out... http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Tcsjrbigfoot/...efirstbillyjack

I don't think it was a group of hikers knocking, as it does seem really rapid and its coming from different directions, not to mention the way he describes the area... doesn't seem like there would be hikers split into groups or just split up out there.. but who knows.. I do agree with thephaige, he seems to be on to something and im gonna continue to see what else he can capture on film.

The only thing that bothers me about Ed / thefirstbillyjack, and Tim / tcsjrbigfoot, is that they're taking too many risks, just to get a BF on video. If you had someone constantly in your backyard, stomping around, following you around, how would you feel? And these things are damned dangerous when confronted. Passion is one thing, but going out there alone, in total darkness, is just foolish to me. Even Ed, going out there in daytime alone, has been in " too close for comfort " situations a few times, and felt the fear of it. Yet, he keeps going at it, by slogging through the swamps, never knowing what's on the other side of that line of bushes. And Ed is obsessed by the Dogman. BF is one thing. It avoids you when ever possible. Dogman, if real, is a killer. Even Ed says how afraid he is going in the woods alone, looking for Dogman. Dedication, Courage,,,,,,,Death Wish? Woof. More power to ya. popcorn2.gif

When Ed got his return knocks I noticed the rapid sequence. The return knocks reminded me of semi automatic gun fire. I am not saying it was though. He seemed to be having difficulty duplicating what he heard. Even with a smaller branch or a baseball bat think it would be difficult to swing that fast.

It is obvious that what is knocking back certainly can swing that fast. I don’t recall any stories of someone seeing BF “wood knocking” other than one I read a hunter watched a BF using a stick to “knock” a Raccoon out of a tree. I just can’t picture something as bulky as BF swinging that fast either. Could BF be using two clubs?

Personally if I had never heard of "Wood Knocking", I would not have attributed to what I was hearing to being Bigfoot related. At 4:54 he hits the tree four times. At 5:03 there's six knocks in alleged response. At 5:10 four more alleged response knocks. Then a few seconds later he hits the tree a few times and no response.

The rapid repeating alleged responses, to me, sound exactly like what I heard as a kid when people were having new homes built in the area where I lived. The homes were spaced quite a ways apart, and most of the time we heard very little of the actual bulding, until they began putting down the sheeting for the roof. Then it was like beating on a big drum. The sound would carry for a considerable distance, and a lot also depended on the weather, wind direction/humidity etc. to if you'd hear it or not from your location.

I can't say that's what I'm hearing since I wasn't there or familiar with the location, but again it sounds exactly the same. By that I mean the tempo of the beats, timber, resonance.

There's a forestry road going right down the middle of that swamp. If I were Ed, I'd be following that road deep into the swamp, on a bike, then do the tree knocking. His slogging through that swamp grass is a waste of energy, to me. The animal he's trying to find, is in the deep part. He keeps going into the edges near his car, slogging and slogging. He could be in the very center of that area in 5 minutes on a bike, then tree knock, find out where the responses are coming from, and head there. I think he's masochistic, meself, hehe.
Bitter Monk
The first few sounds early in the video are somewhat disguised by the wind noise on the microphone. The two groups of sounds after the three minute mark sound a lot like small arms fire.

As an aside, did anyone else laugh out loud when dude walked on screen looking like a ninja turtle? evillaugh.gif
Robert
It also sounded a bit like a pileated woodpecker to me.

This is kind of an off subject post so I appoligize, but I've noticed something that possibly matters here. With this guy thefirstbillyjack and tcsjrbigfoot and others who do the same type of "walking around with camera rolling" thing. Have you ever noticed this.....

Do they ever spot any other animals in the forest? Deer? Bears? Cats? (which im assuming all of us would agree would be much more common in the forest?) I'm just curious how they expect to spot something that is supposedly one of the most elusive and stealthy animals out there, when I've not seen any other animals in their videos. Maybe I'm missing something here.

On a side note, I think that tree knocking is a great way to scare away any animals and alert them to your presence. new_lmaosmiley.gif

I have to agree with you RR. I am sure many animals in the forests can hear you, just simply, walking around.
Furious_George
What happened after he turns the camera off? I didn't see the second clip. Did he ever mention it somewhere? I'm wondering because he said the sound was getting closer. I wonder if he walked towards the sound that was getting closer in order to get a look at what was making it or if he was he content not knowing. I can understand not making an attempt if it were at night but it was daytime and should be easier to spot. He is out searching for bigfoot and he gets what he thinks is a signal from BF and then seems to say - eh good enough, I'm missing Dr. Phil, time to go. Well, not exactly but that's the impression that was left on the video to me.

Not being negative, just wondering. Love the video.

I am familiar with that pneumatic nail gun noise. I would have to say that it would be the most plausible explanation.

Laugh no, but seeing as how he had 2 sai's strapped to his backpack, I wonder which one he was trying to be?

He actually left the area cause he was getting spooked, and he recorded a clip of when he was leaving the area and you can still hear some knocking going on in the background.. here is the video

Moregon mentions people having homes built. Thats actually the first thing I thought of when I heard the "response", someone hammering nails.

bigeye.gif

The guy is armed to the teeth, and gets SPOOKED? It would be one thing if he'd actually seen a bigfoot that was massive and then get spooked. It's quite another to get spooked when you've only heard sounds and are imagining they are being created by bigfoot without really knowing what their true source is. He's got two Sai's, a can of bear spray, a bowie knife with what looks like a 12 inch blade and a stick/staff stout enough to split the skull and spill out it's brain matter from just about any North American animal.

Sai's circled in RED, Bear Spray in YELLOW

What kind of weaponry would he need so he wouldn't get spooked by sounds?
Texas Bigfoot
For me it would be a Marlin.

That is just too weird for me. wacko.gif blink.gif

Haha I didn't notice the sai's. Now he is awesome. Usually I'm sarcastic, but not now. Youtube videos of someone looking for bigfoot wearing all of those weapons and a mosquito net is entertainment gold.

I think he said there was no development in the area. It did sound like a nail gun to me too.

Was this the guy that had footage of a porcupine in a tree and said it was a baby bigfoot?
Bob
Yes! it was the same guy. However I never viewed the “porcufoot” video. It had bad reviews from the start. I admire what Ed does but his videos are poor. He needs to slow down and hold the camera up more. Another thing… He sure spooks easy for someone who is armed as well as he is. I wonder what weapons her carries when he is out looking for the Dogman. My arsenal would include something with silver bullets for sure!

I guess this is the Second Billy Jack
Furious_George
Thanks, I thought that was him.... found the thread. The video of the porcupine was out of focus. The animal was just sitting in a tree so he had time to get focus. It would have made a better clip if he had to fight it off with the Sai's.

Being obsessed with the hunt, doesn't mean you have any more courage than someone else out there. With the things he's experienced so far, I'd have soiled my pants. His latest trek through the McGilvray bottoms swampland, he walked up on something that went crashing through the woods away from him, at about 40 feet. That would be enough for me to have various symptoms of cowering in fear. His carrying those weapons, doesn't add to his courage. After the crashing sounds, he didn't stay or turn and leave, he got out his bear spray and went right after whatever it was. His voice was shaking and the camera was too, but he kept going in. Deathwish? Would you be able to do that, without any kind of fear at all? Granted, the "porcupine" incident might have been a problem in somes eyes. That doesn't take away from the other situations he's run into. He's shooting from the hip, and sometimes it misses. He's at least out there several times a week, doing something, as most of us sit here in front of a computer, including me. I give him credit for that, at least. He isn't relying on thousands of dollars of high tech, or 4 other people with him as backup. He's going out there alone, to face whatever he finds, even if he gets the shakes while doing it. I'm personally, quite amazed at his resiliance, at having to trudge through 3 feet of swamp grass, lifting his legs up over it, and trudging on, one step at a time. Takes quite a good physique for that. I don't see anyone else out there trying it.

Do you go into the forest alone? Big difference than when you're out in the woods with a friend. I don't question for one minute the weaponry he chooses to carry, only because he's usually alone. Some folks don't like guns; maybe he's one of them. Next best thing is a big knife and some bear spray. And I'd imagine a good snort of that stuff would make an angry Squatch reconsider his options.
