Northern Manitoban,

I will be going to this location next weekend take more photos from the trail and the image is big enough I should have no problem finding it from the first location, i will then walk to it and take a close up of the blob smile.gif funny how images in the forest under different lighting can sure make you see all different shapes and sizes.

Nice experiment. I look forward to your new photos being posted.

In the mean time, if you want to take bets on what it is, put me down for a giant bipedal river otter with a backpack. Oh, it's time for my afternoon meds.

G. canadensis

That does look interesting, but it could be a stump from an old tree..You did say there were lots of rotting trees out in that forest. Although my question though, does a rotting stump turn black like that?
Northern Manitoban
lol at river otter smile.gif yes there is alot of fallen trees i just think it looks so dark because of the lighting, or its been there so long, will find out next week smile.gif bets? I'll bet big black tree stump with growing moss, maybe i'll put a hat on it when i take pictures lol

Put me in for a sqare of Kokanee ... I bet it is a slotted white-tipped giant Beaverine (cross between a Beaver and a Wolverine). I bet there will be a dam across the stream and a low frequency tremor coming from inside. Beaverines don't chop trees down for their dam, they chop people down and love the smell of potatoes.

Okay okay I say stump. And a Sasquatch.

Thats a really interesting photo, I've never shot a blobsquatch that well. Good luck checking it out and let us know what you find out there

I think its a treestump or a big pulled over root as well. The "bright green" on top of it, is realy on top of it. If it would be part of the tree in the foreground, it would be darker due to shadow. The brightness of the green, shows that it belongs to the lighting of a more distant part of the picture. The Black Hue doesnt seem to be special. It is spread trough out the picture. Its just the darkest shadow in the treeline.

If we analysis this from the prospective of BFRO we will have to conclude that this is definitely a bf until conclusive proof shows otherwise. You need to pull this photo and copyright it immediately.

On the other hand, if BF does exist, I imagine that there are a lot of photos that show a bf where people where taking random photos and never paid much attention to the dark spot in the photo.

I often wonder how often people are with in 10 yards of a bf (or other animals) and not even know it.

hey researchers so any new possible sasquatch photos comeing out soon. ty bill g keep me posted ok. smile.gif

Dude that's a stump. You can even see the green moss growing on it.
Unless it's Swamp Thing! ph34r.gif

It could be the root wad from a blow down.

I was out hiking with family in a park in Northern Manitoba, taking this photo of a spring stream that comes out of a hill and runs into the Grass River, when i downloaded the photo and put it on my screen saver i seen this dark image, when i zoom in it looks very interesting, beautiful place to hike with a decent hiking trail.

You mean, you "SAW" this dark image. . .

QUOTE(Northern Manitoban @ Jul 18 2009, 08:14 PM) *
I did not see the object when I took the photo, I do lots of photography as I run my own website and do submitt allot of my photos to my local paper, when I took this photo I was only looking at the stream and trying to get a good focused shot, I took this photo 2 weeks ago and today was the first time I actually looked at it and like I said when I put it on my screen saver i seen that blob, I will be going back to this area in a weeks time as I camp out that way, good idea I should go back and see if this is still there, would be awesome if i go back and that image is gone new_lmaosmiley.gif i think it is a stump though sad.gif

You mean, and do "SUBMIT" A LOT" of my photos. . .

Sorry, I thought if you put this on the website you run, you might want correct grammar so no one criticizes you . . . thumbup.gif

Im going back to this area at my camp this Monday with my daughter, unfortunatley I wont be able at this time to walk to this area, the area is to steep and to tough of a walk for me at this time, i just had knee surgery last Thursday, so it will have to wait until when i'm back there 3rd week in august, should be good to go then, your theory of blown down stumps is a good one, there is lots in there, smile.gif

Bigfoot cleverly disguised as a stump!

Looks like Bigfoot cruising along jamming on his Blackberry. I hope he responds, how often to blobsquatch pics get invetigated by the poster with an open mind? I also hope he takes many pics from the same angle if it is gone that way other trees and stuff can be compared.

Thanks, Northern Manitoban, for a lovely photo.

Has anyone in the history of photography ever taken a picture, spotted an anomalous object in it afterwards and subsequently had that object proved to be something astounding?

Aside from Paris Hilton's privates? No, I don't believe so.
nixon
Great photo NM. I'm from Manitoba and from what I know about that area, there are no caves. Likely a stump, but sure is an uncharacteristic black one! Most wood, where the photo was taken, is softwood. It doesn't turn black but just keeps deteriorating and crumbling. To turn a stump black like that, it would have to be a hardwood tree where the stump was burned. cold.gif

Interesting photo! Thanks for posting it. BluffCreek35

Did anyone ever go back and look to see if the stump left the area?

I would beg to differ. In the first place, Paris Hilton doesn't have any privates (so I'm told) and secondly, when one of our local game wardens had the pictures of his daughter in her Easter dress developed, there was, clear as a bell, a cougar hiding in the bushes just ten feet away from the little girl. Photo after photo you could make out portions of the cat's head through the brush, some pics showing the whole face.

So yes, analyzing the photos after the fact has historically revealed much. And I do know that the Hilton thing was just a joke. (Good one too.)

thanks for the coments, I had mentioned i would go back but ended up getting knee surgery so the xtreme hike was not likely for me to go back, I do figure it is a stump and while at my camp after this picture was taken I was going through a park brochure that had photos of the park and someone else had taken a photo from almost the same spot as I did and you could see the same image in the photo, i was quite dissapointed sad.gif i always go to this spot every summer and when I do this year I will find the image get clsoe and take a photo and will post it here. sure wish it was the real deal

Well at least you found out the truth, even if it wasn't what you expected. I had a similar experience with a photo from Lake Chelan. Bummer, but I found the research that went into it and the input from others was a learning experience.
