"I had to slam on the brakes. Naturally, this created a great deal of blue smoke."

If the witness slammed on the brakes hard enough to create "a great deal of blue smoke" I find it peculiar that neither the wife, nor the two daughters were awoken. I'm a considerably heavy sleeper and during a road trip to Florida the year before last a friend (behind the wheel) was forced to brake heavily to avoid a hitting a deer. I was in the passenger seat and was awoken instantly at the 'jolt' the breaking car created. There was very little tire smoke created by this. I can only imagine how hard one would have to brake to create "a great deal of blue smoke.". We were driving a '99 Corolla so perhaps the tires on his '75 Chevy Nova Hatchback smoked more easily?

Maybe squatch "hypnotized" the wife and kids. Or infra-sound. Yeah, that's the ticket. new_whistle.gif

I found that a discrepancy as well. Maybe they took sleeping pills or something. Anyway, I would think that slamming on the brakes would have woken them up, at least the wife.

OH PLEASE! You CSI wannabe's can't wait to find a single sentence that doesn't fit your idea of logic and tear it apart. So his family didn't wake up, so what? Does this make his sighting less credible? Are you trying to impress others on this board with your investigative insights?

First of all; for the record let me say that I dislike the television show CSI, it's not my cup of tea. I'm more of a nature documentary kind of television watcher. I also happen to enjoy certain Showtime and HBO programs such as Californication, Entourage and Dexter when I can find the time to watch them.

Secondly; I'm not attempting to impress anyone. In fact, I couldn't care less what the vast majority of people think about me. Yourself included. If people agree with my theories, analysis or opinions, fine. If they disagree, that's also fine. Part of the allure of an online discussion forum, for me, is differing opinions, analysis and theories. I was merely pointing out something in that particular report that seemed out of place and therefore piqued my interest. And yes, in my opinion, if all the pieces to the puzzle do not fit than it does make the report itself less credible.

Calm down...this also popped out to me as soon as I read the report. Come on, you have to admit it is a little peculiar.

Another great example of the lack of quality control with the investigations of reports throught he BFRO. coverlaugh.gif

I don't usually t do this anymore, but aside from the discrepancy noted by D.Sams. I've driven across 2 before and as you get closer to I-75 as was noted in the investigators notes, if you are doing 80mph, you're a moron. The road in that area is very curvy.
The height as well is a major thing, and I would guess that besides the reassurances from the investigator, that there is pretty much no way it was 11 feet tall.

Another "stellar" BFRO report. rolleyes2.gif

Given that this happened 30 years ago, I will cut the witness some slack, but there are some inconsistancies in the report. Not saying it did or did not happen, just pointing out things that seem odd.
