Seems that alot of folks are trying fevrishly to debunk the footage lately.I've seen this on several forums.Looks like every gorilla costume was used to make Patty coverlaugh.gif .It's been 40 years,I could care less if it was a hoax. This is the latest lame attempt I've seen at discrediting P/G...

But they have not proved it to be a hoax...just as we have not proved it genuine. No worries !

Why do you think it is 'lame'?

So, maybe Raquel Welch somehow squirreled away one of the apeman costumes from the U.K. and gave/sold it to Roger Patterson? I like that theory.

Maybe she wore the costume too.

I can't seem to find in your link where anyone is trying feverishly to debunk the footage..

Could you quote an excerpt that leads you to this conclusion ?

The source appears to be Daniel Perez.. I'd be surprised to find him trying to debunk the PGF ...

The film came out months before the PGF was shot. The apemen in the movie starring Welch supposedly bear some resemblance to the PGF subject.

Coleman wrote: "More significantly for our purposes today, did the film have something to do with the Patterson-Gimlin footage? It is worthy of further investigations, that’s for sure." And, "No easy reference to the source of the 'apemen' outfits shown above that appear to be similar in appearance to the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot can be found."

Hey Skeptical Greg,

Ya know Daniel wouldn't go there. Was it not all a simple observation regardin' costumes back in '66, that Tontar brought to Daniel's attention.

There seems to be alot more attention being paid to P/G in the last few months,IMHO.The reason that I said it was a lame attempt was because to my eyes the costumes are similar, but not enough to say that it was used for the P/G film.I guess what it boils down to for me is the fact that the "gold standard" of BF evidence is still being cussed and discussed forty years after the fact.I know of several forums that have huge threads debating this very subject. To me it's irrelevant. We are no closer today than we were when the film was made to proving BF exist...

Well, honestly, it was all in the interest of science. "Patty" was obviously a female, and RW is ... obviously female. bigeye.gif

So, if an ape costume was used at Willow Creek (which I don't really believe), I'd prefer to imagine Raquel W. inside the suit rather than Bob H.

If there is more attention paid to the PGF do ya think that it could be because every 3rd episode of MonsterQuest is about bigfoot? And of course the Georgia Boyz stirred the pot, too.

Good point, and probably true.

And, whether you agree with BILL MUNNS' findings, or not, his presence here has brought PGF debate to the forefront

I was just looking at that, and I can't believe how rectangular the shape is of Patty's foot...it's like a block...really fake looking IMO. What animal has a foot of a rectangular block?

(btw I'm not trying to discredit the film completely I'm just making an observation)

SKM,

What animal has a foot of a rectangular block?

Bigfoot. I do believe that bigfoot tracks differ from human tracks in that bigfoot tracks are wider for a given length and the heel width is proportionally wider (i.e., there's less of a difference between ball width and heel width for a bigfoot than for a human). The result is a blocky looking track.

But that's a picture of an actual blocky looking foot...not a distorted track in the ground somewhere.

Blocky looking feet leave blocky looking tracks.

And would you call this a blockly looking track?

I totaly agree, thats one thing that I always thought really looked real to me was the size of the foot and how it looked, its what it should be for a large primate, look at bears and how wide there feet are they need that for the size and weight they are. Love how in the patty flim you can even see the toes, incredible in my opinion smile.gif

It's a sick world, and I, too, am a happy guy.

Yet, you're entitled to your opinion. I'd rather imagine Naomi Watts scantilly dressed, rather than your scenario. JMHO
