Did anyone see this? WOW!!! They showed an amature video of some creature that I cannot explain. It was dark colored, seemed to have a large hindend similiar to an Ape, that tapered to a narrow front shoulder area. It appeared to "drive" itself with its hindlegs (it was on all fours) and only balanced with the fronts. No paws could be seen because the video was somewhat blurry. The head was narrow and long resembling a dog head, it had narrow but tall pointed ears and small predator eye's also similiar to a dog. It was about the size of a good size black bear, but this was no bear, that much was obvious! The animal looked and seemed very, very, powerful. This film is being kept somewhere in WI and being held as evidence, I think Hannity said it was in a court house but not sure on that. I'll bet someone could get a transcript of the show and find out where this video clip is. Its well worth looking into, believe me. That critter was something else! Maybe you guys have already seen it and I'm just blowing smoke. If so, then set me strait. If not, then someone needs to look into this asap! They also played an interview from the County worker who had the deer carcass taken from the backend of his pickup a few years ago. What he described was pretty much what is seen in the video. There must be a few Hannity fans on here that seen this show Friday night July 10, 2009.

I found this by doing a quick Google search - is this the video you're talking about? It looks pretty old, but certainly interesting.

at first glace, it looks like a large brown bear.....
but then i watched the hannity segment and i think it could be a sasquatch..... "walks around using it's hind legs, and front *paws* to eat pull away meat from it's prey".....yeah....

The video definitely looks like a bear to me. However, I got to reading that Michigan Dogman website and many of the encounters sound very Squatchy. The story of the "thing" steeling the deer out of the guy's truck is pretty freaky!

I believe a Sas was reported to do the same thing....reaching for food in the back of a truck in the PNW.

That video has been out there a few years now, and I'm trying to remember if when it first appeared it was allegedly taken in Wisconsin or somewhere else. I know it was discussed here so I'll see if I can find a link to that discussion.

I'm pretty sure the general feeling on here was that it was a Dog too Moregan of some kind, does it ring any bells ??
It does however look to me like it's a Silverback the way it moves.

That's what I'm remembering too. It seems that at that time it was being attributed to a Bigfoot Sighting and was allegedly one of those stories that claimed it was an "Old lost film found in someone's attic" type thing.
Edited to add:
Found it.. September 2007, video is also known as the "Gable Film". Reportedly shot 1977 somewhere in Michigan.

Something just caught my eye while reviewing that video again. For just a split second, I think it was around the 2 minute 27 second mark you see the person making the "Film" in the sideview mirror of the pick up truck.
Click to view attachmentThis film was allegedly shot with an 8mm camera. That camera is WAY TOO BOXY to be an 8mm camera, I've owned many of them going back into the 1950s. At best it could be an early camcorder which weren't available until the 1980s. It also looks like a typical camcorder eyepiece on your left as you look at the camera and at the top of the camera the housing that holds the monitor. MOST 8mm cameras were set up similar to viewfinder cameras and the eyepiece had to be In-Line with the lens used for photographing, not off to one side, and you looked through the viewfinder not THROUGH the lens like an SLR. So WHERE on the front of this camera image is the viewfinder window? There isn't any... Something stinks and it ain't old dogman food.

That film has been around for a long time. You can see on the edges of the film, the film stock. And on the mirror view of the camera, you can see a lens or iris adjustment knob. Watching the film over and over on full screen, it just looks too much like a male gorilla type animal. You can see the flat back, shoulders to huge width to the arms, and a less width to the hips, and it's shaggy as hell, with longer hair down it's spine. The head seems to be flat with ears that jut out to the sides, and move up and down with the stride. The rear end jumps around to the left, and the shoulders hold position, as it slows down to take that corner, and a huge jump with all fours in the air at the same time. The rear legs don't seem as long as the front arms, and it seems to have a large stomach that almost drags the ground. It's just too gorilla in it's movements.
Here's a full lenght on youtube:

It's a disturbing and freaky video, but I think the ending gives away that it is a hoax.
The picture goes fuzzy, and then there just happens to be a 1 in a million split second shot of the creature's open jaws right infront of the camera lens, like something out of a horror movie.

Sorta does to me to, but "charging" is the key word. Why would the person keep filming until the thing got close enough to open it's mouth and *chomp*? Even if he was in a vehicle, that mouth is right there.

Strange looking animal. Do they have bears in MI ? Could it be in 2-3 foot deep snow so we cant see its legs? Distinctly depends upon whether or not the 'good time' involves the release of pheromones - which of course, will attract a man-bear-pig, or machete wielding maniac every time.
I didn't see the piece, but the footage as several folks have pointed out is recycled. The whole viral marketing around this thing, had Blair Witch stylings written all over it. If I recall, the website was shut down in the middle of the furor.

you can download the entire film, the owner just released it under a ccl:
http://www.michigan-dogman.com/00_gable.htmli've been watching this thing gable film thing develop since it first surfaced a couple of years ago. it still has me befuddled. a few observations:
whatever it is, it ain't a bear or a gorilla
as an avid hunter for most of my wasted youth, i've seen plenty of bears. they don't run sideways, and they always amble before they gallop. this thing takes off at a full gallop right out of the gate. gorillas do move sideways, but always run rump low/head high/chest thrust forward. this thing starts rump high, then settles into a clear canine or feline pursuit. it is not running to intimidate, as bears and primates do. it is hunting.
it isn't a big dog
some have suggested an akita or chow. but dogs don't have broad shoulders. this thing does.
it does expand in size
just as it starts to move sideways, the body of this thing expands to almost double the original size. it's right rear leg is very much like that of a dog.
this thing cannot be a man in a suit.
just a few frames before the camera operator turns to run, the thing leaves the ground completely. if it was a person running on all fours, they would be on their face. believe me i've tried it.
