This has been posted in the Australian Yowie thread but I though I would post it up in its rightful place here in the audio section for all to hear.

Its supposed Yowie vocalisations recorded in the Blue Mountains not far from Sydney Australia

Quote: "Steve went down the track pictured and heard some strange sounds. He left the recording device in a tree and returned for it an hour and a half later. We didn't think there would be anything on it. "

Tell me what you think?

cool.gif G'day, 'spongebucket', thanks for posting that. Sounds like the recording device was carefully handled and poked a bit by the culprit. The real grunting, which is quite deep in frequency, begins at about 2:17 and is quite sporadic thereafter, but it is noticeable. It doesn't sound like any of the whooping or 'samurai' vocalization recordings of NA Sasquatch recordings I have heard or experienced. It's definitely something grunting while being otherwise fairly silent as it prods the device.

Not much to go on here, really. It sounds like there is only one subject -- as opposed to, say, a couple of them -- so I don't get the impression that there is any speech or interaction going on. Interesting.

Hey Dudlow

Thanks for your response I would have to agree with you entirely, being an aussie I don’t know any animal that could make sounds similar, though I wont jump to conclusions and say it is Yowie it sure is interesting.

It's bogus. You can clearly hear that the fellow that "supposedly" left the recorder in the tree for "an hour and a half", is still in contact with the recorder. You can hear him fumbling with it and you can hear him breathing. new_whistle.gif

Well, I've been trying to find audio on the net that is a match or close to what I heard for some time. It is, to me, although not exact THE closest I've heard if you flip 2:36 and 2:38 grunts around.

Here's a link to my experience...

And a post after I saw the link to the audio...

After hearing a noise similar to this, I'd say it's genuine. As for the background noise, I assume that it was hung in a tree by its strap and is scraping against the tree due to the breeze.

Cheers,

Kraig
