What would you do if you obtained a great peice eof footage. As good as the Patterson film? What would you do with it then?

I'm not totally sure what I would do, but I have 3 things in mind that I would think of doing.
#1) Take the video to a place where it can be studied. Get them to make sure that this is not just some guy in a fur suit. Once the documentation is done, and if it seems to be genuine, then bring it forth to the public, with the report from the analysis lab.
#2) Bring it to the next reliable symposium/convention and let the researchers there take a look at it. See how many jaws drop, and how many snide remarks are made.
#3) Do #1. Then #2.

I'd bring it to John Green's house.
If the film is helpful,I would want him to have it,he'd know what to do with it.Couldnt find anyone I would trust more.

I was thinking about this a week or so ago. I was thinking more on the lines of a picture though. I wanted to ask what others would do with a photograph. For some reason, when I think of copywrite, I think of money. I wouldnt want to copywrite a BF picture for the purpose of making money. But then I was thinking of other reasons for getting a copywrite. Would you get one so that others couldnt steal your picture and make up stories about it? I mean, what if someone took your picture off the internet and tried to say that they took the picture just before the Sas tried to kill them? You know what I mean, make up some outlandish story. So that made me think that I would first get it copywrited and then put it on this site. I dont have the first clue how to get a copywrite or how much one costs though. Anyone else know? That might be some handy knowledge, just in case. I would then probably take it to my local news station. I had thought about Oprah before as well.

If it really was as good as the P/G film and I was absolutely positive that's what I had, I would too.
Although I MIGHT just maybe contact Jeff Meldrum, Rick Noll, and John Green first...it'd take a lot of thought about what order to do things in, I suppose.

I would contact the BFRO, since they have already coordinated most of the people who i would want to contact anyway.
Then again, they'd probably go "Robin Miller? Aren't you the same Robin Miller who.. Waaaait a minute... Bugger off you little twerp!... click"
And then i'd have no choice but to sell the footage to the Weekly World News, lose the original, and die a lonely alcoholic.

first of all i would get it analyzed and the area of the footage analyzed too, make sure it wasn't a hoax. get all the evidence gathered plus the footage, and have it shown at a symposium and maybe here on this board.

First I would keep it close to my chest and not show anybody and then I would make a lot of claims about it and then I would open a museum and then I would create a lot of web sites and,....wait a minute....I think that has already been done!!! Drat!!!

I do sometimes wonder if people like EB or Mary Green really have seen Bigfoot and gotten some sort of evidence, but they are just such idiots that they can't present themselves in a credible way, and get into towering rages when they interpret people wanting to examine their evidence as some sort of disrespect.
Oh well... who knows.

1. i'd have to do some laundry, cuz i'm pretty sure i'd pee myself
2. i'd see my doctor about something to help me sleep
3. i'd call rb and do whatever he says i should do with it
4. i'd talk to someone who understands legal aspects of this sort of thing, cuz if a profit will be made from it, i want the profit to go to ME
5. become intensely focused on finding another one, and probably lose my job because i'd be awol all the time, on 'expeditions' (a girl's gotta have her priorities, right?)
6. move to mount shasta and start searching daily

It would have to be REAL good evidence on the video, no blobsquatch, baseball caps or pictures of my hairy butt, its got to be either I took the video or I was right there with the person who took it & I stress again it has to be REALLY good. I would first contact my Lawyer even if he laughs at first but show him that I am totally telling the true & its not a fake or somekind of joke. I want to be protected legally just in case after I give it to people to examine it someone doesn't come out of the woodwork saying I stole their video or they were there when it was taken, remember document everything & who you deal with. What I really feel is important right from the beginning is handle everything about the video professionally, don't go on Howard Stern or Comedy Central etc. you really want people to believe in whats on the video. Go to the BEST in the field, just using as examples Jim Chilcott, Jane Goddall, John Green also the Atlanta Primate Center, get as many of the REAL Good Guys on your side, show them the video , see what their reaction is & what they have to say, then give a copy to them. Make sure you have all your ducks in order first & then make it known to the world. What to do after that I am still pondering.

First of all.....I think we would need a film much BETTER than the PG film. The PG film is great but with modern cameras we should be able to get a much more detailed video. Once you had that......a copyright is only a few hunderd dollars to protect your valuable investment. I would want to show everyone in the "Bigfoot Community" for their feedback, but at the same time, you'd deserve to make some money from such awesome footage. Anyone who proves this animals existence should be compensated generously.......right?

Hi everybody!
First time poster, long time reader. I think that a copyright is the best way to go because no matter how good the video is and how many prominent people back it up, there will always be those who still think it's somebody in a costume. And therefore it won't go very far to prove to the general public that bigfoot exists, but it does have some great money making value.

I think I would let the forum pick it to death. I would hope folks from BFRO like Rick Noll would check it out, and MK DAvis from GCBRO take a look (though he would most likely pass comming from a BFF member). I dont know if I would admit I took the video or just put it up for all to see and let others decide.

If I started going out in the woods to film bigfoot, I would have to spend some time first learning about the equipment I have and then find a very good video analyst and reproduction company. Then set up the legal aspects with my lawyer ahead of time.
If I got any footage I would definately make several copies. (Actually, given my untrusting character) I would learn to make copies myself.
I would send one copy to you guys and one to Green and Meldrum and maybe the BFRO. While you guys are picking it apart I would try to go back and get more footage. To me that was Patterson's biggest mistake that he quit with Patty. I think he could have gotten alot more footage if he had stayed longer. (That is just my opinion, I don't have the foggiest notion of what Patterson was going through at the time.) I would also get lots of footage of the filming area (that is one good thing Patterson did and I personally think it helped him get the footage he did.)
This is just a thought, but I would prefer to use real film instead of video if possible. It's just a hunch nothing more, but I think film is better.

If you type "copyright" into a search engine, you'll get a screenful of useful-looking sites describing how to protect your document or whatever. The first item is a depository / registry maintained by the feds.

After some serious thought on the topic, I guess I would take it around to a few Advertising Agencies and see what the going price is. After all, bigfoot is a hot commodity right now and I'm sure Chevrolet would pay big bucks to have some footage of the big guy rummaging through the cab of one of their trucks( or turning it over) because that is the only type of up close and personal footage that would have any kind of chance of standing up to the scrutiny that any film of this type would be subjected too. How bout this one - scene fades in on an old, rusty dumpster where some obvious commotion is taking place in side as MJ's "Beat It" starts in the background. 15 seconds of lid banging later, the top springs open and out jumps Bigfoot, with a Lay's potato chip bag in his hand, scampering like a bat of hell for the tree line. Announcer proclaims in a very deep voice, "Lay's Potato Chips, Nobody Can Eat Just One!"
