Anyone else notice that the Sci Fi channel is currently playing "Abomible" (sp) and now "Yeti"??? Two incredibly horrible movies back to back!

I don't get that channel unfortunately. I'd like to see those two movies though and they might be interesting..thanks..

Yeti was one humongous piece of suckage, but I found Abominable strangely entertaining!

I didn't watch Yeti, however I did see Abominable and was slightly entertained. It was pretty cheesy, horrible acting for the most part, but like you Stacy, I sorta enjoyed it. The only problem, the guy in the wheelchair played Lloyd Braun on Seinfeld (the 2nd Lloyd Braun) and I just couldn't get that outta my head. I kept waiting for Kramer to pop in the cabin.

Abominable was way entertaining. I loved the "Rear Window" allusion and Lance is always great. It could of used some gratuitous nudity though.

I had never heard of the yeti movie before but saw it in Wal-Mart the other day and picked it up for $10. It was obviously a low budget flick but the cover looked interesting. As I sat down to watch it the sci-fi channel logo flashed across the screen and my hopes for seeing a mildly interesting/entertaining movie quickly faded. As expected (after seeing that it was a sci-fi channel production) it was a total waste of time and money - a real stinker. IMO anything the sci-fi channel touches turns to dog sh*t - including BG. Its a shame that the only BF related movies made in recent years have come from there.

Scott Heriott mentioned on a podcast that major Hollywood studio's won't touch Bigfoot precisely because of all the cheesy movies that have come out recently. But considering the recent popularity of the subject and the fact that Hollywood makes tons of crappy movies anyways I think they're missing the boat. It seems like a big budget Sasquatch horror movie would be money in the bank.

LOL.
Yes, it does help.
I pulled Abomidable out of a discount bin for $5.
With the nudity added back in and the attitude of "this ain't really a bigfoot film, its a slasher film starring a guy in a monkey costume", it is amusing.
I actually found it is much the normal thing of a group of solid actors struggling with a script and story that needs some work still.

Hi

I didn't want to start a new thread on this cause i feel what i just witnessed from the SiFi Channel fit in here pretty good cause it is mostly about there crappy movies anyway,

I just watched the Sifi Channels version of what they call ~ Journey to the Center of the Earth, the 2008 adaptation of the Jules Verne novel, I would like to use a quote for my thoughts on this "Movie" ( ~ In the Great Words Of Forest Gump ~ )

* * * That's all I have to say about that * * *

Yeah, we skipped "Journey" last night, assuming it would be the usual SciFi movie with a dumb script and horrible acting... good to know we didn't miss anything.

We dont agree on much of late but you hit that on the head. Abominable at least manages b horror movie levels of success, the yeti looks like the trix rabbit on crack. Other than the scene where it beats the guy with his own leg this one rates damn near mansquito, ogre or the rock monster for all time worst.

Yep, I think you and me are just gonna have to agree to disagree on a lot of things, but I'll be honest and say that I still make it a point to read your posts, and you still make me laugh a lot!

Yeti was so laughably bad. I found it most laughable that the "Himalayas" were obviously shot somwhere in the rockie mountians and that Nepal strangely seemed to be inhabited by Americans.

Oh no, Stacy! icon_stressed.gif It's not sci-fi or even close to what the original was. It's just drama in space - way too much drama IMO. It's nothing more than a bad soap opera. Before the current abomination, the fans had made a pretty good pilot episode with Richard Hatch (original Apollo) that was true to the original series. They really cared and wanted it to become a continuation of the original. The Sci-Fi Channel was determined to make their own version and Richard eventually sold out to them.

I really liked the original so I was kinda biased to begin with. rock.gif

And don't even get me started on what they did to Star Trek! numchucks.gif

OK nerd session over.
