Here's a good review of the book by David Paulides, The Hoopa Project.

I liked this book, and consider it a fun read. But.... (Hope not to catch too much hell here) a friend and believer who grew up in Hoopa stopped by with his posse the other night...Anyway, he is reading through the Paulides book, recognizes half the witnesses in it, knows a few quite well and starts going off: "This guy was my old basketball coach, he's a total racist, and bull&hitter! This person is a liar..." on and on....basically, his point was that most of the people that were interviewed in this book apparently aren't very credible folks within the community.... affidavit or not. That is just his opinion, mind you. So there it is.

Daniel Perez made some comments regarding discrepancies between what was written and what he was told by some of the same residents featured in the book.

Yes, I read that review. Did you also happen to read Paulides' response in the December BF Times? Wow!

Enjoying the book. As someone who tried to get bigfoot info on the Hoopa resevation back in the early 90's, they are not an easy bunch to befriend. He obviously spent a lot of time there, I admire him an envy him for being in such a beautiful mysterious place and doing much needed research. JMO cool.gif

Here you go. ..

David Paulides, Los Gatos, California,
on November 27th [spelling, capitalization left as is]: “I learned many years ago to never publicly critisize anyone for their work, especially when its completely irrelevant to the specific job. For you to publicly tell the world that I didn't get my facts correct when you haven't done your research is COMPLETELY UNPROROFFESIONSAL!!”
“1. The items that you have gone to the
public with and highlighted that witnesses
are now stating something different,
maybe you should've asked to review
relevant documents.....like their affidavits...
A. Date of Carpenters sighting & her
occupation
B. Misspelling of Ullibarri
C. Bigfoot Organization
D. Questionable book on the subject
Daniel, you didn't do any Bigfoot research,
the only thing you did was follow
up on the work I did. If you truly wanted to see who was accurate you would've checked the ‘ relevant facts’, what the witnesses signed in the affidavits against what they later said to you. It would appear that your intention was to attempt to destroy the integrity of me and my work through incomplete research in Hoopa.” “I've constantly seen jealousy and backstabbing in the Bigfoot arena and I don't understand it. If I had completely mistated facts, embellished information or exaggerated circumstances, I'd understand,
but none of that occurred. You haven't proven I was incorrect on anything you printed, nothing. The only thing that was proven in this instance is that I assisted you in many portions of the Hoopa Project and you attempted to stab me in the back, horrible.”
(Editor’s note: no comment).

Good for Paulides! Looks like the only step left for Daniel Perez is to go ahead and enroll in Clown College. wacko.gif
