I know, the GA hoax will rate right up there, but my favorite is the Scott Marlowe/Bigfoot massacre!

Teresa
Most notable for me was the GA Hoax. I wish something positive had come along since, but alas... no such luck.
Drew

B-to-the-G,

The OP mentions nothing about positive things Bill, only notable/favorite, so if your postives fall under the notable/favorite category, then please bring them out Bill, this thread is for you too.

The most notable bigfoot event of the year, for me, was the loss of Tim Cullen.

I would say GA hoax as notable, I wouldn't say favorite though

Again notable, but certainly noone's favorite. RIP Mister Cullen.

The photo I was shown, taken in 1996.....of the Hairy Man sitting ontop of waterfall looking at the camera.....still seared into my head....

No blueforMD...earlier this year...I was shown a photo a lady took of a waterfall in 1996...her family was there swimming for the day...(the waterfall is 50miles away or so from where I live)...anyway they all walked back to the car which was a 400yard walk thru along a rainforest track...she gets back and realises she did not take a photo of the waterfall so she told the kids to wait there she will be back in a minute...she walks back to the waterfall and takes a photo....she sees nothing...when the photo is developed sitting clear as a picture on top of the waterfall...is a5-6foot tall chocolatey brown, with a red tinge Hairy Man/Yowie.....its sitting on a sloping rock with its knees together, dark face, just looking at the lady......it is a color photo and good quality...her family have kept it to themselves but because I was in the paper and radio regarding collecting hairy man stories, her daughter who was there asked if I would like to have a look at the photo......It aint a man in a gorilla suit.....it looks like an aboriginal covered in hair....its hair on the head was 5-6inches long, maybe a bit longer and quite dirty looking...the hair on the body is 2-4inches long......its face is dark, but it is to far away to see features.....It is what it is.....you can see it clearly sitting there....on a rock..about 20feet away from the rainforest cover in the open......looking at it, and the way its knees were together, I think it was a female.....
I have asked her for a copy(the daughter) and she was Ok with that, but her family said no...I have asked her since but with no luck.....they do not want any attention...just want whatever it is, left alone....a common view held up this way.....anyway, I had a real good look at it....I took a photo of the photo for a better look, but had to delete it at her request...I tried retrieving it but no luck.....the family were there the whole time by themselves...its a out of the way place...there were no other cars in the carpark...they saw no-one else....after collecting so many eye-witness sightings before hand...when I looked at the photo, it looked like so many people had described to me...I was almost familiar with it.......God I wish I had a copy...I would post it here....if I ever see her again I will ask her for a copy....cheers

The Georgia bigfoot hoax and how their stinky bigfoot in a freezer very much was a disappointment and a lunch bag let down. Then the loss of Tim Cullen which is first and foremost the ultimate in this forum and the saddest. RIP Tim and Godspeed.

It lured me over to this forum, that's not positive?
Teresa
You're right Wickie, we got a lot of great new members from that debacle.

I have to agree though, Tim Cullen's passing was the most notable thing that happened for me this year. It's still so hard to believe he's gone. I didn't mention it because I didn't consider it a bigfoot event.

Even though I didn't personally know him, being on this forum, I feel the loss. All testiment to him is moving. I'm sure I would call him friend. May the stars above, grace his memory

By far my most notables are not public events. I wonder how many other people fall into that category?
Fullybird
The Jack Links beef jerky commercials by far. Messin' with Sasquatch is funny and makes me want to run out and find a BF and pee in his canteen when he is not looking, just so me and my friends can laugh at him when he drinks it.

RedRatSnakes one year anniversary here?

Rod - If I could see that photo, I may be interested in buying it for a decent amount. Think they'd have any interest in that?

Well, let me see here....a spotters fee of say 30%, plus actually do the deal...another 10%......maybe having to seduce the mother another 50%.....so let me see here COGrizz....me 90% you 10%....that sound fair on any profits made......you can trust me COGrizz...I'm as honest as the day is long....

Well, I can ask her if I get to see her next.....since she has quit her job at the local supermarket, the only way I see her is bumping into her now and then....It has crossed my mind myself but I feel kind of dirty asking her....and desperate...........I am happy to say to her when I see her next, I have a rich American friend who will pay good $$$ for the photo....whats good $$$?....
I have had a good look at the photo....no-one would argue, even the biggest skeptic, that there is hair covered, 2 legged animal sitting there looking at the camera.....the argument will be is it a hoax....and these people don't want any attention.....
Its a funny thing for after I looked at and walked back to my office....I had this feeling I had just had a peek 'through the looking glass'......I had seen something that should not exist....was a pretty overwhelming feeling for a while there........now, it just adds to the mystery for me and enters my mind whenever I look up to the rainforest covered mountains, round where I live...cheers COGriz

Rod what did the face on the thing look like?

Rod
Dark face...could not see particular features......in the photo, it is sitting ontop this waterfall, on a rock on the left hand side(on the highest point)...Click to view attachment
so you could easily see it and that it was not a person, but too far away for features....if I can ever convince her to give me a copy, I hope she still has the negative, for with the negative you may be able to blow it up and see a clearer view of the face...
By the way the waterfall is called Dinner Falls and it is in the Mt Hypipamee National Park..Queensland. Australia..........cheers

Hi
I feel the same way, I really didn't get a chance to talk with Tim, He responded to my Toys as a kid thread one night and i was so happy smile.gif I know he was loved here very much by many who i call my friends and that is my bond with him, It tells me what kind of a guy Tim was cause of the folks he surrounded himself with and the way he went about doing things, We all lost a good forum friend and so much more, But in his love of the subject and all the work he did there is so much that has been left to everyone,

Peace
Tim thumbup.gif

Rod-I am not rich at all. Poor actually. But, I'd pay 2 grand for a decent pic. I'd have to see it first.
