Does anyone know of anyone who has taken thermal readings of people in ghillie suits at night? It'd be interesting to see how they register on IR.

That would be interesting. If the person really wanted it to work well they could line the inside of it with them space blankets you know them ones that sort of looks like aluminum foil.

I just got out of my Santa suit and I have a headache from the heat. I can't imagine what it'd be like to be in a ghillie with foil lining! That'd be stifling for sure.

I was just wondering how it would affect the heat signature- make it more uniform?...

A properly made ghillie can have little to no detectable thermal image.

I'm no Einstein but on the other hand you won't find anyone tacking barbed wire on to me. What's the purpose of a non-thermal image detectable ghillie (gorilla?) suit? If my life depended on not being detected, putting on a gorilla suit would not be one of the first things that pops to mind. Please fill me in here. Have fun, Norcal

Sorry I got sidetracked.

I was just wondering about whether a ghillie suit would distribute body heat more evenly on an IR camera, i.e. replicate some of the videos that are out there. I can't imagine it'd distribute it so uniformly, but it was just a thought I had.

You make perfect sense, what I can't figure out is the website suggesting that you wear their gorilla suit when your life is on the line. What's that all about?
Is there a big market for heat deflecting gorilla suits? Hey, maybe I should inform Walmart.

A Ghillie suit is NOT a Gorilla suit. Present day it is a three-dimensional camoflage suit mostly worn by snipers.
