I live in Northeast Texas close to the town of Commerce. I was witness to several incidents when I lived just outside Commerce. At the time I was employed for the Delta County Sheriff's Dept as a deputy. It was around 1990 and a friend and I were in the business of buying dairy calves to raise and resell. My friend lived in an area close to the town of Horton. The actual town is now under water - part of Cooper Lake. This was a very remote area of dense thick woods running all the way to Sulphur Springs. My friend began finding his calves dead at the barn. It appeared that their necks had been broken. This all came to a head on an evening as he heard his boar hog squealing loudly from the pen. The pen was located at the edge of the woods. My friend had a very mean boar hog that weighed around 400lbs. He called me on the phone and told me to come as fast as I could. When I arrived he was almost in shock and told me that he went and grabbed his rifle and went to the barn. He said that he saw a very tall hairy creature lifting this boar hog over the pallet fence. My friend fired a shot at it and it dropped the hog and ran off. My father and I went to the pen and found a set of tracks. These resembled a very large human foot in the dirt. My father - a retired Dallas police officer, contacted my friend's neighbor. The neighbor was also a retired police officer and professor at Northeast Texas Community College. He came and called a couple of his students and plaster casts were made of the print. Several pics were taken of the cast and one was even printed in the local paper. The cast went on display at the college in the science dept. I have the cast. At this time I am still trying to find where it was stored to get the dimensions for you. As we were talking with my friend's neighbor, he advised that he oversaw a cabin across from him (bordering my friend's land) way back in the woods. The owner had said that strange things were happening at this place. We saw that the tracks went due east toward this other piece of property. We went to the cabin and saw several more of the footprints going in a circle around the cabin. Over time we saw and measured two other sets of tracks. The only size I remember was 12 inches. The other tracks were bigger than the set we cast. The strange happenings always started in the spring and continued until the late fall. His property is about 2 miles from the Horton bottoms where I know several people who have seen this creature but would not go public for fear of being thought crazy. One was chased out of the bottoms while duck hunting at a slough. I have since moved to a different part of the county. About eight years ago a friend and I were walking along the Sulphur River and found tracks going to the water as if to get something to drink. As I said I am still looking for the cast as my dad put it into storage. As soon as it is found I would be glad to send a pic to you. In the cast you can clearly see the tissue ridges on the bottom of the toes - much like ours. I am curious if anyone has ever reported anything like this in this area. I have nothing to gain from telling this story. I have been a law enforcement officer in this area for 13 years. At first I told a couple of people of what I had seen and most thought I was crazy. Thanks to the internet I can relay this story to you. Please feel free to contact me if you wish. Thank You.

We continued to find tracks on this part of the property. My friend and I hunted on it until we had an encounter. We didn't see anything but what ever it was kept moving in a circle around us. It was not worried about making noise as most wild animals do.

Another series of red flags

>>>He said that he saw a very tall hairy creature lifting this boar hog over the pallet fence. My friend fired a shot at it and it dropped the hog and ran off. My father and I went to the pen and found a set of tracks. These resembled a very large human foot in the dirt.

Where is the back up call? The incident report? The report to Texas DNR? The bloodhounds?

A deputy SAW "human like" prints after having a report of attempted THEFT with SHOTS FIRED?

If he didnt OFFICIALLY do the above ( on or off duty- a LEO is "on duty" in an official capacity 24/7/365) then he should have been FIRED.

Not to mention ( acting as an LEO) he would have to investigate himself and operate on the presumption the perp ( animal or human) was hit and have medical back up on the way too.

Then this ( from further down the report)

>>>The witness responded, and the two men found and tracked three sets of large footprints through the woods and pastures for approximately one-quarter mile. The prints circled an "A" frame house that was owned by a doctor as a summer house. The screen door was torn off and found floating in a cattle tank. The witness mentioned that the doctor had reported several incidents of vandalism in the past. The tracks continued from Hunt County into Delta County to the Huffman Dairy area.

so they tracked this ( a LEO) and found MORE evidence of human endangerment and vandalism and no OFFICIAL report?

Its apparently a good thing this guy is no longer carrying a badge.

I put this one right there with the Ga boyz unless and until I see the affidavit from this "officer' with a detailed explanation and reason WHY he failed to execute the duties of his position under those circumstances with PHYSICAL evidence of crimes ( attempted and not) and the discharge of weapons during an incident with a possible wounded person/animal out there.

That's weird, if you have the cast why do you need to find where it is?

hey longtabber i realy like your above reply thats why think the tbrc & certain bigfoot groups here should reinterview the eyewittness & go to the sighting location if possible. i realy like everyone else above replys as well regarding this sighting. good afternoon. bill smile.gif

I know its not an exact match but does anyone know if this report might be the BF pig picking up referenced at the conference?

Just curious
rockinkt
As Longtabber pointed out in this thread - and I know we both posted about it in anther thread - if it involves a LEO and is not on an offical report with a date and signature - it's a war story. Period.
Next BS story please...

i agree i would like to see the official police report about this sasquatch encounter. is there a way to email the deputy sheriff who had the encounter. keep me posted ok... new_specool.gif iagree.gif thanks bill

Yeah sounds fishy.

I've been through that area as well and never thought of it as being on the Bigfootish side but who knows.

On the one side guys you gotta realize with these areas its not like you're dealing with the RCMP. Some of these little TX towns kind of half ass things. Not defending the report I agree though.

Good points on this one Longtabber. As for the pig reference, wasnt something similar mentioned in one of the 70's movies? Boggy creek maybe?

You do have to remember that this happened almost 20 years ago and in TX....LEO or not, some things are just taken care of, especially back then. However, I agree that there are some things that dont fit.....like how the buddy called him when he heard the pig squealing and they just happened to walk in right at the time the sasquatch reportedly is lifting the pig. Yeah, ok.
jamin19
Yea I can imagine 20 years ago in a small Texas town that LEOs could take matters into their own hands without the concern for generating a report. Heck the local rednecks do the same here today and with gun in hand they are the law.

I don't think the report states that the witness actually seen his buddy's hog being lifted, rather his buddy told him that he himself viewed the hog being lifted prior to their arrival.

I'm curious, the witness said he shot at the creature but did he score a hit? I would have been much more interested in the blood than the footprints. As an LEO one can assume he's a better shot than Joe The Plumber.

Here's a case that included an official report. It was widely reported. The sheriff kept a cast on his desk for years.

Lots of documented official action here.

There are more.

So? Did the documentation solve the mystery?

He didn't shoot at it his friend did. He didn't see it his friend did. He didn't arrive on the scene until after that action was over.

What was he going to file in a report? My friend says he saw a big hairy man taking his hog?
This incident was twenty years or so back. If you are the Sheriff do you file a report? I don't think so unless you don't plan on running for office again and want the whole town laughing and pointing behind your back.

So where are the pics of the cast?

This not slight to law enforcement by no means, but after working a 8 or 12 hour shift and you have 10 or more incident reports to complete before going home weeding a few out that sound a little fisher ,maybe an excuse not to write one, is not out of the ordinary. Another point is that a report of a large hairy may running off with a 400 hundred pound hog on his shoulders could get you some ribbing from fellow officers.

A simple one liner:

Subject discover his 400 pound pig dead on ##/##/## value of the pig is $ ###.## cause of death unknown.

This is what I see from officers most of the time, I often wondered what detail of reports that have been omitted that could include ol BF. Many law enforcement offices even to day have less that 20 employees and are ran in a haphazard way. I could tell some stories!!!!!!

I live in a rural area and last week I was ridding up the road and saw 30 or 40 buzzards in the middle of the road, there was a large amount of dried blood in the road, but no carcass of any animal. What ever it was had to have been large due to all the blood in the road. I searched the area and found no sign of any animal. I’ve inquired on a police report, but none have been turned so far. Something took place maybe car hit a deer, dog or whatever but no report has been filed.

If this is were to be an accepted practice then the approving supervisors are not being held accountable and that's a HUGE problem.

This speaks to the caliber of Officer making the claim or report. If he's an incompetent idiot with little to no integrity, then this statement would apply and EVERYONE knows who these folks are in any given Department.

If these reports come from the resident "Town clown", then most LEOs would/should know and report accordingly.
I've seen these misc. reports also and kick 'em back every single time for lack of information, initiative and investigation.

Assuming you're speaking of specific GA agencies, you should probably reveal some of these haphazard operations to the GBI. I can assure you they would probably lend you an ear.
